Thought I'd mess with some silly stuff today. It's all NiC80. 24, 26, 32, and 36 AGW twisted together. It's kind of cool about how they stacked. It goes from 24 to 26 to 32 to 36 AGW. I was trying to get them to stack 24, 32, 26, and then 36 to make more pockets and cracks for juice to get into. It's vaping well enough. It's 6 wraps on a 3mm screwdriver. Ohms out to about 0.24 for me. They're a bit sloppy. The wire is VERY springy. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

Got a fused clapton made finally.

36 over 26 AGW wasn't working out so I stepped up to 24 AGW for the main coils and it worked. The build is six wraps with a 3mm ID. It comes out to 0.095 ohms so it's not going on the Sigelei 150W. I've got it on a parallel fully mechanical box right now with VTC3s. I know the risks. I've run lower without incident.

Try the swivel idea for the 26 x2 core. It helps and you will prob find it a better Vape (and safer)... Esp on unregulated

It's unregulated parallel. I'm using VTC3s. They have a 30 amp rating. In parallel this gives me 60 amps to use. I'm pulling 44 amps at 0.095 ohms. I've built down to 0.05 before for a comp (on the same box) before. That was 85 amps. That one made me a bit nervous. I've never vented a battery before.

Anyway, I still have my regular claptons on my Sig at 0.32 ohms.

I haven't really been selling coils to local shops. When I am there however someone always hits me up for something. I am committed however to take good care of the VU family.
If I can help anyone out please let me know.

This is my first Clapton coil I've ever made. It's a 22g Nichrome core with 28g (or 30g, I don't remember...) Kanthal. It comes out to 0.12 ohms, and it vapes alright. I like hot vapes, this isn't cool but it's warm. It has a long ramp-up, but other then that it's awesome! I'm learning to do more everyday.

You CAN mix nickel w nichrome or even kanthal and your TC will work. It reads off the lowest wire. Lock your resistance and adjust your temp down by 100 and work up until you reach cotton burn then adjust slightly for taste.
For instance you can do a Clapton or fused Clapton (I even did alien) this way. I think the fused Clapton or staggered Clapton or alien are amazing this way in TC

in theory yes. If you set the resistance and then adjust the temp accordingly.
You will need to use ni200 as the core though.

Been a while since i posted! Made some framed stapled fused claptons this evening.
8x .3mm ribbon framed with 2x 30g N80
Wrapped up in 42g N80 courtesy of twistedmesses. Had to go 6 wraps w/ a 3mm inner diameter to get it over the .1 limit on the Sigelei. Flavor is bonkers. Vapors are terrific.
To give a better idea of the composition here's a shot of 10x .3 ribbon/2x 28g i made a few nights ago-just in case yer not familiar with the makings of a framed staple

I ran out of 22g NICHROME practicing that damn fused Clapton, but you know what this single twisted 22g NICHROME 2,5 diameter is LEGIT!!

Follow up.

And so i did a dual twisted 5 wraps 22g NICHROME 80 2.5 diameter reading at .16,
MY CLASSIC SIG150 was getting WARM to touch, I have 8 pairs of 18650, only the Samsung yellow can handle it inside the sig150 Classic,
I decided to use my Big Bang box mods unregulated parallel 18650 and all my battery works just fine without getting WARM/HOT..
Conclusion....
This is subjective!!
If you enjoy subohming please make sure ur batteries are CAPABLE!!
It doesn't matter if your using a regulated box mod, if ur batteries are old or UN capable of the AMPS REQUIRED by ur coils!! I suggest get new batts or switch ur mod to a parallel box mod...
Batteries in series sequence will double ur VOLTS
BATTERIES in parallel will double ur MAH and it will split the AMPS required, so with that being said
BE SAFE AND VAPE ON

Smaller for sure. 40g is great, i would have to vape it side by side to tell the difference between 40g and 42g. I would stay above 38g personally. The only time i use anything larger than 38 is when i'm making aliens because 36g is a lot easier to work with for me when it comes to that particular coil. But for just wrapping clapton style 40/42g is awesome. I have not tried anything smaller than that

No problemo! My personal opinion is that 36g is the best for alien coils. It probably has the best balance between buildability and flavor. The difficulty level jumps dramatically once you go over 36g, or at least it did for me haha

Oh Yeah. The practice part of the alien wire build takes so much time and patience and (tons of wasted wire) wire. Ugh. I found for folks that i have taught how to do this is to start with three 24g K and 32gK outer wrap. It gives you an idea on how to do so without twisting wire and messing up the outer wrap. Once you can nail that coil without mistakes then move to 3 x 26g and 34g.... then 3 x 28g and 36g.... when you get it down you can nail 3x30g with 40g outer (which is tough, really tough to build flawless but amazing to vape).
I have been playing with a 3x28 with 38 outer and staging it with a single 24g Ni80. A M A Z I N G !!!

Framed Stapled Aliens.
~6 ply .3mm ribbon
~26g A1 frames
~Wrapped in 36g N80
Dual 5 wraps around a 2.4mm bit fires right at .1 ohms. I had to dry fire each coil individually to get them up over the .1 mark for the sigelei, which was a frustrating process. I was very eager to vape these.
Vaped about 5mls on these so far. They're quite dreamy. Flavor is very articulate, and very complex. Kinda like having a front seat to the marching band, where you can hear each individual instrument.....in your mouth. Vapor production is smooth and dense. And plentiful.
Anyways, now onto the fun part....PICS!

And here's a piece of the end where the wire ran out so you can see the insides a bit, since thats where all the magic happens
