Prepped enough 26ga cores for who knows how many aliens, only to run out of 36ga after pulling off 13 lengths of decore

Edit: Just ordered more wire, but noticed something wonky with the price setup. I was gonna step up and go ahead and pick up a step above my typical 1000 ft order, but...
What in the world is the incentive to pay $75.17 for 2500 ft in lieu of buying three 1000 ft spools for $55.68?

It’s a f**king insanely difficult build I could actually see the hedgehog being a little easier because it has three catching points as opposed to one that you have to keep in a straight line. I personally think enigmas are one of the most difficult “standard” builds there are.
So here is the beginning of an enigma I didn’t get enough completed but I have the feeling down so it’s just a matter of time.
So here’s a pretty shotty enigma. It’s not real clean but the basic principles are there. It just fell apart while wrapping. It’ll only get better.

Thanks man. It was 26g frames/14ply .5/with a 26g decore. The wire was fine when is came off the drill. I just f*cked up by putting it into a vice a pulling to much tension on it and screwed up that middle wrap. I could probably do it again and get it right but I feel like I should take a little break and not beat a dead horse.
I’m gonna have to try an enigma or hedgehog.. or echidna lol. They seem to be the unspoken challenge lately.

So this is a four wrap (3.5) Enigma not interlocked, not stitched but done correctly. It was easy to wrap. I don’t think I’ll be doing much more with enigmas cause I’ve wasted so much wire but here it is. I’m glad I was able to do it.
Haven’t been building much, but made one tonight. Out of 36g so tried something different.

When I was learning the ropes I would order coils from PureCoils just to see how they looked when done correctly. I still order certain things for my friends from PureCoils to this day! great alien variants int he last page or two btw. have you vaped any of them yet? i havnt even tried the hedgehogs/engimas. i got to mohawks, didnt like the way they vaped, and sidelined the whole process. always meant to go back and at least hit a clean set of everything/learn the techniques/differences between them...

In the way of Mohawk Alien coils...they do vape differently. I find them a little cooler, and a little spitty. But I like that. And I overcome the coolness by pushing them a little harder wattage-wise.thanks man

Looks Really good Meg! I know you gotta put all those wraps in there otherwise the resistance will probably be too low with all those plys of ribbon wire. I honestly think they vape like
but it’s subjective I suppose. That’s what I wanted to mention to @mach1ne. I think mowhaws vape alright but my enigma was awful. I think that’s because the cotton doesn’t lay flat on the inside of the wrap there is a bump there, or bumps if you’re shooting for hedgehogs and I just think that messes with the cotton I don’t think there is actually any vaping advantage. I still think fraliens are the best vape I’ve ever had, 40g framed staples are good, and I still like SSFCs too.
