What kind of well?We might have a chance IF we could put a pump on our well. Nobody around has a clue how to do it.

Was going to ask the same question, pretty easy pumping water from a well. What kind of well?
A water well. We have a 4" pipe sticking out of the ground, with a 1/2" pipe that ends about 4 feet down. What kind of well?
I love those tasty little jewelsI should have ripe cherry tomatoes next week.
Do you have a hand-crank pump (or can get one at a Home Depot type store) that connects to a water hose? I don't know if it would work on your well, but it would work for pumping out of that river without going down the bank.We might have a chance IF we could put a pump on our well. Nobody around has a clue how to do it.
How deep is the 4 inch pipe and how far to water?A water well. We have a 4" pipe sticking out of the ground, with a 1/2" pipe that ends about 4 feet down.
Or use a trash pump, gas powered, not for the barrel but to draw from the river or well if it isn't too far down to waterWe put a hand crank pump on a water barrel. My stupid husband got one made for diesel. It quit working. If I can find one online for water, that might help with the well.
Tie a string around a metal nut, and see how deep it is.No idea how deep the well is. I have seen water up to about 8 feet down the hole.
We call stuff like that "Mexican Engineering". Some people will half-ass anything trying to do with what little they might have.Never heard of a 4" well casing, must be something someone jerry-rigged together.
It just occurred to me that I have a small pump that fits on a hand drill that allows standard water hoses to be connected to both the IN and OUT connections. That would be considerably cheaper than the big hand-crank types. We put a hand crank pump on a water barrel. My stupid husband got one made for diesel. It quit working. That would be a pretty shallow well and subject to going dry in drought conditions. My well is 300 feet down (deep aquifer) and our water actually is an underground river created by snow melt in Alberta. One of my neighbors (rancher a couple miles down the road) has a 50-foot well and often runs dry in August.I have seen water up to about 8 feet down the hole.
During the dry season, I cannot see the bottom, even with a high powered flashlight. That would be a pretty shallow well and subject to going dry in drought conditions. Same here. This house was built in 1930. The original homestead cabin, which is still here (I use it as a tack room) was from 1910. The highway in front of our property was a dirt track wagon trail (now called U.S. Highway 212).At one time, this house had no plumbing. There was an outhouse and a well.
Phillip made one. A 60 mph gust destroyed it. His welds did not hold. Never mind the works that might pump water. He never tried that.Windmill!

Not to good Lucy it's bone on bone and a tore ACL been that way for years I just don't trust any doctor (had my share of goes with them) so been making due.
Oh yeah - it would be perfect except its an 810
EDIT: I ordered several from around the intrawebs that might work out - if none of those match, I will cease going overboard with the matchy-matchy nonsense, lol
@Jimi, I hear you about orthopedic doctors. I feel the same way. Had my go-rounds with them as well. In the beginning of my mess, I got a lot more help from a physical therapist than I ever got from the doctors. I will say I hope your problem resolves, but perhaps more appropriately, I'll say I hope you can find a way to stay comfortable and not injure it any worse. It's hard to take once it gets to the point that you're hurting all the time, even when you aren't standing or walking.
Good morning, everyone. Been up since 3:30 am. Just wide awake then, and with a headache. Had to get up. So I'll regret that about 4 this afternoon when I still have an hour of work to go and I'm struggling to stay awake. Coffee time.
Sure you willI will cease going overboard with the matchy-matchy nonsense, lol
*Hug* tough lady.
I ought to write a love song for coffee. I sometimes take a cup with me to bed. I drink weak half-caff, allllll day long! Very addicted, very don't-care

Be EXTREMELY cautious of the slippy slidies tomorrow morning. Finally quit snowing here.
Snowed most of the day but no accumulation as it was a bit above freezing.
Supposed to get down to 27 tonight though.
Will only be going out to feed the cats before it thaws unless I sleep lat and it thaws early.Be EXTREMELY cautious of the slippy slidies tomorrow morning.
