Yeah, I use 'em for a few things, but in general, they offend my tightwad soul. Washing dishes saves both money and the planet from mountains of garbage, since there isn't actually any place known as "away." It's also impossible to COOK dinner on paper plates -- that requires cookware. Which must be washed. In the unlikely event that I ever get 6 lucky numbers, maybe I'll just throw dishes away when they're dirty, instead of washing 'em. Hmmm.. nah. That wouldn't be a good way to STAY filthy rich.

You could just have someone wash them for you then. Hell even go as far as spoon feed ya. Once you get those digits correct.

That truly would be awesome. My husband did the dishes while I was sick, bless his sweet little heart, but I really hated being unable to do ANYTHING for myself; a few times I even had to request an arm to lean on to get the bathroom, just in case I got the head-spins from weakness -- the flu just plain sucks, no matter which way you look at it.

Well I expcet that the medical industry will see a big boost in their bottom dollar over the flu and unfortunately a bit more business for the funeral industry too. And the makers of Tamiflu and other cold type symptom relief products.
Been 20-30 dying weekly here in KY from the flu so far this year.

I briefly scanned an article this morning that claims (I did no research so do not know the validity of their claims) that this is not flu at all, but an engineered plague that was supposed to kill a lot more than have died so far. All I know is that Wifey had symptoms she has NEVER had with any previous bout of flu.

Getting enough of a start to build some shelves and such in the basement.
Need to pick up a framing and Tri square tomorrow.
And some lumber as that was in my shed complex as well.

Too bad you can't rebuild and rejoin the ranks of the shed wankers

He decided to vac or you did? So are you still going to get your meds, or has him hurting his back stopped you from going?
I be con-fuse-ed...
He did! Nope I'll pick up meds tomorrow. He wanted to check out something on his car. He did a reset on the check engine light.

Hence the term Shed Wanker
Sorry Lucy if I do not understand Alaskan slang, so help me out here... when I was knee-high to a grasshopper, some of the kids at school used the term "wanker" to imply some other kid was jerking off (which, I think, was primarily a British expression). So, I am assuming your phrase is saying someone who goes out to the shed to do nothing more than jerk off? Did I get it right? I have a thousand projects going on in my shop at any given time, which is too many for any of them to get properly finished and "on time," but I never go in there to do nothing or just sit and it's way too cold to drop trousers out there. Sorry if I missed the intended humor... o_O  I am, after all, a really oldt phart...

Just thinking about what I just typed above. My wife tells me that 30 years ago, I had a sense of humor. Maybe I would have got it back then. Am I too cranky now to get the jokes? Do all old pharts take things way too literal or too seriously. How do I re-acquire the laugh quotient?

No problem, dear. I was just trying to understand the meaning. So a "shed wanker" is someone who plays, goofs off, hangs out, farts around, but doesn't get much done in the way of serious work? OK, I am now enlightened. :)

Pretty much me then?

some guys waste time watching sports on TV and such. I like to piddle around on projects in my workshop.

So armchair wankers vs shed wankers?
Shed wankers have bigger tools :)

My husband doesn't have a shed, much to his consternation. But he's really good at piddling around in the garage, though occasionally does something useful therein -- he had a shovel that the metal head kept coming loose from the shaft; today he fastened the shaft to his vise and drilled a hole thru it, so he could attach the metal head of the shovel to the shaft with a bolt. Definitely piddling, but useful piddling. :)

He also did some yard cleanup, stuff fallen off the trees in this or that storm, but he didn't require any yard tools other than the wheelbarrow. Maybe a rake.

I'm feeling much better, thanks, but I'm still running into a fatigue barrier at a much earlier point than has been my norm; just going grocery shopping yesterday, when I got back into the truck afterward, I was so tired I nearly felt ill. Today I did 3 loads of laundry and cooked dinner, and a couple times I had to lie down on the couch for 15 mins and just rest, like I'm some kind of damn invalid or old woman or something. :p Still gotta get the 3rd load out of the drier, and then I'll be nearly done with working; I was smart enough to get most of the dishes done while dinner was in the oven, so I don't have much cleanup left at all. :)

Andria
Hey glad you’re better! :)
Ummm... I’m not sick and doing three loads of laundry and drying and putting them away would still kill me haha
