It's strange that list doesn't mention SS430. The 430 I get from Unkamen is Nickel free and also has a higher TCR making it nice when using it in TC.

Cheers,
Steve

SS430 would most likely be the highest on the list since it doesn't have any nickel in it.

Silver and platinum would be up there too but there aren't too many people well off enough to use it for coils.

I'd bet that I could get sterling silver in 24ga for $15 - $20 a oz.

I wonder how much length would be in an ounce?

My friend told me the place where my wire came from was the same place @dwcraig1 mentioned :
https://www.zivipf.com/epages/63862298.sf/en_GB/?ViewObjectPath=/Shops/63862298

If you click on the UK flag (top center) the site will be in English.

PS The nice guy that sent me the wire is BoostAddict. I'm not sure if he wanted me to tell, but I believe in giving credit where credit is due. By the way he is not endorsing the wire or telling anyone they should order it. He was just sending me some to try. Thank you my friend, it's very much appreciated! (If you want I'll edit this part out of the post - just let me know)

Cheers,
Steve

Edit Just to be clear, I'm not endorsing it or telling anyone to buy it either. I've only been using it for less than 24 hours. I'm just posting my initial thoughts in case anyone is interested in reading about such things. (I need to put that in my signature :D:teehee:)

Good enough for me. I just ordered 10K meters of this based on your recommendation!
Should last me a month or two, and will be useful when the toaster needs rewiring.
I think, just maybe, I was quoted out of context

I think that's a possibility.
I was under the impression toasters were for scavenging wire when needed, not the other way around.

I'd heard the same about hair dryers... though I no longer have reason to keep one around.

Received the VT133 tonight. :vapemail::D Mailman just HAD to come at 5pm!! In the heat... with my 500ml order from NN as well! (That puppy went in the fridge until I can divide it into smaller bottles.)

Thanks once again to Steve for the info on page 7 and the link in his sig. Otherwise I would have been lost. I am used to a IPV4S that has no learning curve and everything is done on the device. But with guides written by our fearless compatriot, I successfully added SS316L, created a profile for the Aromamizer, and downloaded/installed a custom screen for the profile. (BTW, I assigned an Aromamizer screen to this profile... I imagine if you turn the device off/on, it briefly displays before it loads the profile?)

So quickie question. Realize this is subjective but I was vaping SS on the IPV4S in power mode so I have no idea what temp to use. I started with 450F @ 28w (the wattage I was using in power mode on the IPV4S)... and then bumped to 460F @ 28w. (Dual coil SS316L @ .24ohms) Left a 1s punch @ 80w. It's a real nice vape so far, but just wondered if this sounds in the ballpark or what others use?

I know... you've all moved on to Nife now and can't remember!! :cuss2: :D :D :giggle: So far I really like it though. And can tell it's going to grow on me the longer I use it. Feels very high quality and has quite a bit of heft. A very nice mod indeed! Can see why CERTAIN UNNAMED PEOPLE have become collectors!! :D

Not to start a riot, but if referring to his video on hydrating, imo the negativity directed his way was unwarranted and partly spurned by jealousy. Rip is a very young man and had a new baby not long b/f all that turmoil broke out. He's making a living to support his family. I don't think he sold out vapers by saying he feels better when he hydrates, and badly when he doesn't. I do too. And I need more hydration since I started vaping and when I don't get it every muscle is sore in the morning. Imho people overreacted. He's helped vapers tremendously by his reviews. I think he was unfairly targeted. JMO.

But I apologize for bringing him up. I like him so much I forgot what a polarizing figure he is. I am truly sorry for disturbing the fun flow of the board. I'll shut up now.

(Until my VT133 arrives.) :D
No need to shut, as everyone has his/her own opinion and we should respect that. As VU family we respect and cared of each others. Thanks

Congrats on the new mod :D. Those settings sound about right. I usually have mine set at 420-450F, 30-40 watts, 60-80 preheat.. If you download the ecig file on page 7 and load it onto your mod it will completely set up the mod. Seven TC profiles, 1 for power mode, case thermals, mod resistance, watt hours, custom screens and themes. Not saying you have to, but I think it would be helpful for your first DNA200. Your call!

As for TC:
The temperature controls how hot your vape will be

Power and Preheat control how fast it gets there.

Cheers,
Steve

Using 316L 26g... I don't know enough to know how to read the graph in order to dial it in... I did go there earlier and vape and watch the pretty lines appear. :D

Thanks so much Steve (also for recommending the VT133 to begin with!). I will do that. And that's a great succinct explanation there of temp vs power!

Trashed my mod..VT133.. totally bummed.. worked great for a week ...loving it, but changed batteries last night (correctly - as in - not backwards) and it died. The splash screen comes up and then it turns off. I don't think it's the fuse or the splash screen wouldn't come up. Tried re-flashing the firmware, did a hard reboot, loaded the default settings and my settings did everything several times to no avail. Everything works when it's hooked up to the computer but device monitor shows 0 volts for the battery's.... Bummed. I'll give ecig a call on Monday but I know Hcigar won't honor warranty's on discounted products. ecig states it on the VT200 page. Don't know if Evole can help but according to the Evolv forum I'll have to remove the board and send it to them...bummed. It could also be the daughter board but I don't see how unless it won't let it draw any current but I would think it would show battery voltage in device monitor.
Batteries are good so that's not the problem tried new LG HE2's and Sammy 25R's

Good thing I have an SDNA75 coming (It's at the local post office) and another VT133 on the way. I may have to get a Tirade to ease the pain.

Only things I can think of to check is too make sure it's not in stealth mode and make sure 2 cells are selected in the Mod tab and not 3.

Edit If you open a ticket with Evolv and tell them you aren't comfortable removing the board they will normally say just send in the whole thing

The settings are fine I was using it and when I changed batteries it will not boot. Just looked at device monitor and now it shows the pack at 5.27v and cell 1 at 0.01v, cell 2 at 5.25v and cell 3 at 0.01v (always showed cell 3 at 0.01v) last night it showed 0 v every place.. It also shows no charge current or voltage.
I'm temped to open it up and attack it with my multi meter but I think I'll hold off and talk to ecig tomorrow and then contact Evolv.. I first thought the fuse blew but the splash screen wouldn't come up. It may be doing a self check, finding a problem and turning off. Someone on the Evolv forum had the same problem with a VT200 but re-flashing it fixed it but no such luck here. I was really liking this mod. Luck of the draw. Think I'll go finish cutting my grass and work out my anger...LOL
The real bitch is wanting until tomorrow when everyone's open. Down OCD down..LOL

I only mentioned checking the mod tab to make sure it was still 2 cells selected because earlier in the thread someone was having a similar problem and some how it ended up being 3 on cells instead of 2. When he switched it back it worked fine.

Cheers,
Steve

That totally blows big time. Thank god its an evolv product and from what I hear they take good care of customers. I've never had to deal with them yet. Only been in the DNA game for 2 months. But don't be to bummed even though I would be. Contact ecig but there out of stock on the vt133 so they couldn't exchange it. Only refund the money. Ecig has awesome cs, I have dealt with them and they went above and beyond. Good luck and everything will work out.

Thanks for the kind words. I do have another one ordered and an SDNA75 to be delivered Monday. I'll see what ecig has to say tomorrow and if there not going to get them in stock soon I may just get the Lost Vape Triade to replace it or contact Evolv. I really do like the form factor of the VT133 though.

EDIT: one odd thing though is if I hold the fire button down the unit will boot up but dies as soon as I let it go so it is getting a bit of juice from somewhere.

I own a triad too. I love it, it's so sexy. You won't be disappointed. Only thing that's a con is the battery sled and the rings on the positive sides. It's there to protect against reverse polarity but they should have used a sister board instead. My only gripe. Besides that a kickass mod. Won't replace my vt133s but has its own place.

My 1 cent, have you tried to clean the positive and negative elements on the mod?

@Angrygod50 really hope it gets straightened out and turns out to be something simple. Sympathies!

Quick question for VT133 users... can the punch be adjusted on the mod itself, or only in the sftw? Just curious how vital the sftw is for the features and if some are sftw-specific only.

The preheat and preheat punch can only be adjusted in Escribe. Just about everything else can be adjusted on the mod (power, temperature). I think being able to adjust preheat is nice, but imo the main things are power and temperature. YMMV and Just my 2 cents yada, yada, yada. :D

What's the battery life on the 1300mAh at 50-60 watts?
That's a tough one. It all depends on how much you vape. Mine are the early ones and the battery was really 1000-1100mah, not the 1300mah claimed. They (Hcigar) says they are now 1300mah. I don't really know if that's true since I don't think a 1300mah 3s lipo will fit in that space.

I get longer runtime then I do out of a 3s 900mah lipo but not a lot. I would guesstimate it would last about a half a day (give or take). Not a helluva a lot of help, but it's the best I can do.

Cheers,
Steve

I get a little better than 4 hours at 50-60 w with the 900mah pack
BUT with the advent of the dual and triple 18650 mods, I would not marry myself to a lipo pack mod if I needed any more than that.

I have a pair of vsdna200s I love them, and I like the lipo... the thing with the sharks though is they have 2a charging. so while you get a small battery, it only takes 45 minutes to charge it.

still, after having the 18650s, the lipo mods are reserved for tanks under 50w now.

@ Deucejack & Steve: Thanks to both for the repy re: setting punch via Escribe.

Am relieved that's the only feature that requires sftw but would be nice if they eventually changed that too. Just imagining a situation where you have your mod away from sftw access and need to change the punch and... oh wait... one of the profiles is configured to not use punch? Is that the safe way to play it??

If you are using the version of Escribe I linked you to (1.0.42) and the firmware (2016-02-23) you can switch any wire in your material tab to any profile from the mod itself (on the fly).

I haven't tried the 27ga so I can't say how it is yet. I only tried the 25ga which I didn't like as much as the Unkamen SS430. Other than that I don't have anything new to report. If you try the 27ga, please let me/us know what you think of it.

My wife loves the wire! Says it is the easiest to coil, and I have to admit, these coils came out great.
3mm ID, 7/6 .27 ohms for the pair. Vapes lovely.
No odd taste, no cleaning as the wire was absolutely clean.
I was skeptical when she said it was not springy, but it is magnetic and comes out to exactly what Steam-Engine says, so to me, that is that.

Glad I got two new black Supremes in along with the wire. Had to have something to try it out on.
