How in God's name do you make the dragon skin wire?
Its REALLY EASY....but sounds difficult...You clapton a wire, cut it into 3 pieces then line them up in your drill and twist them the opposing direction of the clapton....then use smooth jaw pliers and spin the drill while going over the wire with the pliers....then its done.

I make a dragon scales chain maille weave, but what you do looks one hell of a lot harder.
Looks can be deceiving, the more simple looking coils like the f3rr4l Coil are difficult....planning spacing and then matching everything up for the final fusing proves to be pretty damn hard and tedious....you have to go so slow you are basically hand wrapping at the end and even a single coil takes over a hour to just do the outer most wrap...

This is what dragon scale chain mailed looks like. I made a bracelet for my wife, it weighs about 3oz.
I was going to buy a full torso with sleeves...for bulletproof/ballistic protection later on....I like to be prepped. Nice job though, it looks great!

It's not that bad. I know my buddy in the army has more dead weight on standard carry stuff. I use weight vests when I workout. It's a matter of standardizing the weight on your body. It's why I wish there was an artficial gravity machine. 15x gravity would be intense.

Really though, when I tried it on I was around 12 y/o. It was very noticeable. Now of course I carry that much on my shoulders every day, but I still imagine trying to march with that and carry that into battle would be quite a workout. I had to look it up and it says on average it was around 50-60lbs for a full suit but from what I remember I have to think what I tried on was much more than that. I was used to carrying a few 2X4s or 90lb bags of concrete (contractor father), but that suit of armor felt like just as much. Of course, it was ornamental and not combat ready stuff. So that may explain the difference. Either way, it adds up quickly.

Ya a little bit fantasy on my part. Dragonballzzzzzz.
My normal tool bag is around 55lbs. I carry it daily. I also carry a laptop and general parts. My days carry lots of weights. I also try to kettle bell and hict every few days.
That's why combat ready people tend to run a lot in full gear. Lots of respect to those tough fuckers.

I hear you, I run a warehouse, but I refuse to use a dolly for the most part (trying to balance 5+ boxes is a bit much regardless of weight). Buddy of mine recently went through Marine bootcamp, I can feel for him, 50lb packs and 10+mile hikes. Funny thing is he claims he's in worse shape than he's been in for years, "I can hike with that pack for miles, but I can't lift shit" to quote him. "all I can do is walk, but I've gotten really good at it!"

the combat ready maille shirts are made of smaller gauge (thicker) wire, they will be a bit heavier. The maille shirts used in ren faires are usually made of 16gauge galvanized wire. Aluminum wire would be ok for show but the tarnish is a pita to clean. The weave is called european 4 in 1, one of the easiest weaves but in chain maille, the type of weave dictates the size of jump rings depending on the wire thickness. Also, keep in mind that for an average shirt you'll need anywhere from 8000 -14000 jump rings. So, if you use thinner wire, you'll have smaller jump rings and more of them so there will not be much difference in the final weight.

It occurs to me it would be much lighter (and a lot more impenetrable) using titanium wire. Expensive, though.

Chain mailed weights a lot. The simple weave ones weigh 45 to 60 pounds. In dragon scale weave, they will weigh 2 to 3 times as much.
Chain mail bikini?

Or being a human pillar holding up a sheet of drywall while your father takes his sweet ass time securing it enjoying every minute of it? My dad was a contractor too. Many a summer I spent being his (underpaid) bitch. LOL

Anyone else notice that the Boreas is now $25 on FT? It was $39.99 Thursday night when I went on a vapocolyps binge.

I was just about to comment about how FT was more expensive than STS for the Boreas and thought I'd better see the current price before complaining.

The price was always $25. When the listed price was $39, you had to use their MAP code to get the price down. They just eliminated the use of the MAP code. If a price seems kind of high, you should check to see if the MAP coupon code works.

Is the code just "MAP"?

Yes it's just MAP (Minimum Asking Price) But I suppose you knew that :)

But $25 is still a bargain for this atty, as long as you don't mind the little wait in getting your Boreas :)

I wouldn't have minded to save $30 on two. But STS got my dough and I okay with that too. But I could have gotten 3 from FT. Already have a couple here so no biggie to wait however long it takes.

Are they ready to put a drop kit out with shorter glass and top tube?

I'm itching to get an aromizer supreme 4ml but would prefer to send $15 or whatever for 2 parts to augvape.
I really like the look of that short 25mm tank... but I already have one and just need a couple pieces to drop it
