::Grooved-fused Claptons::
Normal 28/38g Claptons placed side by side and fused with 44g SS. The 44g sits in the tiny grooves made by the 38g. The original Claptons are not spaced in any way.

This build clocked in at .43Ω for the dual coil setup. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH IF YOU PLAN TO USE THIS FOR A SERIES BUILD!! IT MAY NOT BE SAFE FOR EVERY BATTERY :p

This is a killer build. They trap a TON of juice, making for unbelievable flavor. Vapor output is very impressive as well. Though they appear simple, they were a huge challenge to get a near-perfect set. Well worth the trouble. Definitely two thumbs up
Your one of the reasons I made that odd Groove Fused Build lol It looked nice enough to try in your pics...

These aren't "MY" builds, but they are my builds now haha! @Poppa (K) was generous enough to PIF me some of his coils (Instagram CoilPorn, Cast off coils, Glowshot Coils, ETC), so I'd like to show my appreciation, and show off a few of them (I've only installed a few, gonna take a while to try out all these bad boys :p). Gotta give props to my fellow Canuck, these coils are performing great! Check out his Insta for more!

So I got bored today and I had the pair of failed ?Staggerton Framed Staples? and I wanted to try them out. I got some nice colors out of them...and I think these are some great pics of it!! This isnt even in a lightbox!!!

Its really too bad I spaced the Staggering on the Staple Core too much...This would of looked crazy nice if it worked out better...

Specs: 32 x .6R/34N80/24N80/248N80

Tips on staples? Looking for any and all tricks you all might use. .5mm ribbon, no problems. .3mm ugh, got one coil done though had some twisting when I wrapped it. Still works phenomenally in my Theorem. But, I want to get it perfect with a few more strips of ribbon and give it another go... not going so well. 3 attempts and I just can't get the ribbon lined up right. In the process I'll be fine but then things get tangled and twisted. What I've been doing is taking a strand, taping it at the base, then taping it half way through, rerunning it through to tighten it up and removing the base tape then retaping it and the far end then taping together. In that folding it in the middle when I tape that.

Like I said got it right with .3mm once, get it right with .5mm no problem. Just wondering on any more tips that people may have. I think a 14-16 strand .3mm staple will be perfect in my Theorem but I haven't been able to pull it off yet, just got the imperfect 12 strand in there right now. Nice and tasty but I'd like to get the resistance down a tad to boost the wattage (unregulated).

I came back to attempting the reef coil tonight. 0.5x0.1 N80 over 26g 316L. 2.4 ID (as usual) and reads 0.58 ohms in power mode / 0.24 ohms in temp mode. This coil is beastly in the STM. If I could do it over again I would go with a wrap, or two less in the coil just so it fits better. Took 30 min to get the hotspots out...

* Temp mode won't actually function. Just goes into temp protection right away for some reason. Any thoughts? *

Bent the screw in the foreground tightening this bish down. Hopefully I've still got a spare around.

Its not touching the core wire or not getting a good enough connection to it...try taking off some of the outer wrap under the screws and then it should get into temp mode.

I thought about that. If I stripped the wrap off the leads it would unwind a bit though and not have the spiraling look. I guess it's time to get some 316L ribbon.

Try flattening it a bit, just the end of the lead and have threw screw snugged down on it..

I think this is the craziest Boreas Build Ive done yet...it may not look as insane as some of the others but its spec's DO NOT belong in a RTA....but damn its a fine vape and the Boreas is keeping up without a hiccup! Look at this sexy stuff right here, I admit I was pretty damn impressed with myself....and Im using some Native wicks Platinum Blend for wicking....They give you alot of cotton but I dont think its much better then Cotton Bacon V2, I would rate them about the same in color & cleanliness, absorbency, and flavor...

Alien Fraples 6 x .4R/26KA1/38N80 (6 wraps/3mm ID @ .08 Ohms)

Im just one of many that like building...but thank you. After people try more advanced coils they get more confident with every build and all it takes is time and practice to make some really neat stuff...most builders didnt start with great looking builds, it comes with practice and patience....keep at it and keep posting your builds. They look great!!

I tried coping another build Ive seen Obi_vape_kenobi, nesquible, mindforge, and welsacoils do and Ive tried 3 different times...different materials and different measures of tension....It looks and feels great and then when I coil it (even using their tips) the Ribbon folds over destroying the 2-3 hours of hand wrapping....
Im not going to attempt it again...

Ughh, yea that looks like a pain to coil. Theres nothing there to keep pressure on the corrugated ribbon in the middle. or on the inside of staggered frame. Being all loose like that Id bet itd warp 9 out of 10 times.

yea its a bit frustrating...but this is what I wanted in the end...Maybe its due to using the Tube squeezer and not spur gears...maybe the teeth makes more bends per inch on the gears?

The bends In the ribbon look more Rounded and spaced farther apart so maybe it keeps the ribbon rigid so when it's wrapped they don't collapse. But I'm You will figure it out. Your the man Ray
And congrats Chef on the Zophie vapes endorsement!

my second try framed staples did that when i rolled up coils from it. fuck i was so mad lol. still havnt tried them again since then.

i got given a bit of wire today from a guy at my vape shop. theres a few missing ingredients in terns of small gauge for clapton wraps, but theres a bit of .4 and .5 ribbon. i was thinking i would try something tsuka wrapped because im a masochist. anyone have tips for that process?

Take whatever your going to use as cores and then twist the ribbon in your drill and lay the twist over your cores, the entire twist should cover the cores and then roll over the edge.

Should be close to this...

Ive been using Paper plates as a lightbox...until my silk screen light cube gets here...it does make a big difference though!!
Jeez getting all fancy with lighting already, how much did that run you if you don't mind me asking? My paper setup only does so well as I'm sure you know.

So I decided to give the alien wire another shot and I finally got the feel of it down now. Given I only got a 3 inch peice that came out right but well worth it. Now I'm confident I can successfully make em. Thanks everyone for the tips tricks and udder jealousy of your wire. ;)

Went to the craft shop today and picked up a pair of nylon tipped pliars, some nice fine tipped flush cutters/nippers, and a cool little jewelers anvil. Been wanting to play with trying some hammered stuff.
