Also Afternoon, Evening and Night seem to have no precise definitions and overlap.
Morning however is precisely defined as Midnight until Noon.

It's called night because it is dark out and most people are asleep til around 5 am. What else can you call it when 12 AM is the start of a new day?
You can not forget about Mid morning. There is no mid afternoon or mid evening.
So how about 12 am to 6 am is morning and 6 am to 12 pm mid morning? LOL
And don't forget about second breakfast....

Mid morning is just a lame term that people who are late all the time use to make it sound less late.
That sounds about right. But then what about BRUNCH? I'd say that is usually Mid Morning!!!
Brunch is early afternoon if it takes place after noon.
And if one works night shift all bets are off.
Night shift workers are highly discriminated against.
