ECC BANS ALL CLONES FROM BEING SOLD

It's what I said earlier, they'll all have clones. The debate may be "clones vs authentics" but the rants aren't. Clones out sell authentics. The argument as always is born out of jealously. Money.

Have that CloneCon - but let them sell authentics as well. See what sells, who makes the most money, and who it will be at the end of the day spending the most time packing away unsold items

Please read this:

You guys, this debate will go on for eternity. I personally don't know where I stand, I own more authentics than clones, and have experienced firsthand the difference in quality between the two. That doesn't mean I don't like to save money here and there, but I'm a jeweler by trade and thus pay extensive attention to fine detail. For me, especially in my trade, quality always comes first.

Now beyond that, even if China can come up to par quality-wise with the originals, let me just tell you something that really really sucks about this whole clone situation. I personally engraved and created the LA and Punisher logo Kayfun chimneys for a shop in SoCal. My engraving machine was 60k, and is the best on the market. It took 3 8-hour work shifts to finish 100 pieces, at $5 bucks a pop cost.

Next thing you know, Joe posted that they had copied the idea (seriously couldn't come up with their own picture to engrave? Literally stole the exact images!)

I don't even make mods or sell them. I mentioned in my first post that I am in the jewelry manufacturing industry. Therefore, every insult you have already thrown at me doesn't effect me whatsoever, lol.

Now I have a stack of engraved kayfuns that we'll never get my money back on, because FT sells them for 2 bucks, a price that I cannot beat.

Tell me why you guys think this is fair? The same thing is happening to the creator of the Chuff Enuff, us small time guys aren't outsourcing to China like that, were doing it in our own backyard. Now FT sells the Chuff Enuff drip top cap for $2. All of that persons goods and time invested are now completely worthless.

You guys need to understand that 50% of people involved in doing this are not huge booming companies with pockets as deep as the Pacific. it's every day guys like you and me, who come on these boards and want to give the community what they want. But in the end, we all need to make a living.

I don't even make mods or sell them. I mentioned in my first post that I am in the jewelry manufacturing industry. Therefore, every insult you have already thrown at me doesn't effect me whatsoever, lol.

so many factors on disability income. I am a 100% service connected disabled veteran (despite being in very good working order), and receive pay from both the Veterans Administration, and Social Security Disability...the two combined add up to $48,000 a year. I collect the maximum amount, but only represent the top 10% of disabled vets...some make considerably less. I am exempt from paying federal and state tax, and receive an annual personal property tax credit of $1100.00 (this is a Missouri law, and not all veterans are aware of it). So it truly varies.
Wow that nice good for you. I mean that not being sarcastic. I'm on 100% SSi Disability and get a whopping 12,300.00 a year. I don't know where Brandon got his 16,00.00 dollar figure we dont all get the same.

Thanks Joe. This is a serious accusation. IMHO, this should be a bigger story than clones vs. authentics. While legal in some states, it isn't everywhere, and if people are unknowingly ingesting CBD, this could be detrimental to careers. Seriously, that is dirty cards. Far more invasive and damaging than any debate about metal tubes...

First off I'd like to say; Thanks Whiskey! I believe my sunglasses look best right where you have them!

I believe your more interested in your own set agenda and your response says that quite clearly! What you call thieves are in fact every bit as entrepreneurial as the majority of authentics who as we've seen in this thread have almost exclusively borrowed someone else's image and had it put on there tube! Were I to get a $100 bill tattooed on my d*** and two $20's (1 on each of my gonads) one could say they blew a $100 and almost got $40 back in change. Would that be counterfeit? clone? or just entrepreneurial on my part? (btw you went to sooooooooooooooooo much trouble to "find some bs about clone at ECC" and bring it here but offer no proof? Do ya drama much? )

You point out that you might successfully control so-called thieves at VapeSummit, but, in the end what is that really doing to help or mitigate the issue as you see it? All you're really telling the vaping masses is "Bring your money bitches! or stay home!" So glad I won't be at VapeSuckit! one more time it's money hungry bitches trying to rape the masses and forget what the real message is! I know you forgot what the real message is so lemme refresh your memory: "I'm off the cancer sticks!"

Sad isn't it? It's about money, but not the way you see it! We need to be fighting those that would hinder or destroy the very vaping community with all it's make's, box's, mods, accessories and juices that make vaping so awesome. Clone or authentic may not matter. Truth is Papaw you aren't seeing the forest for the trees! I'm all for authentics but to deem them worth $300. $400, $500 or more is about taking from the community not giving to it!
Very well said sir. I think they can't be happy with causing Drama. I have maybe five authentic and 7 clones but i really don't care what you vape just leave me alone. lol I'm going to get rid of all my tube mods and go to just box mods

Okay on that video they should not have personally served the papers. That is one of the things that should be left to law enforcement. Funny how enforcement is in their name. Now I understand that is another can of worms for another time and place. Did they think that cursing at them and threatening them made them look better? Did they think calling themselves elitist made them come out as heroes? Now here is my thing do they have an approve and legally documented logo? If so are they licensing the name Kryptonite from DC Comics? I'm not saying they don't have a trademark for their logo, but Kryptonite themselves are taking an item that makes Superman (which is copyrighted and trademarked by DC Comics) weak, named for the planet he was from Krypton that exploded and pieces ended up on Earth hence Kryptonite (copyrighted and trademarked by DC Comics).
http://cobaltlaw.com/superman-wants...s-sues-kryptonite-for-trademark-infringement/
I doubt as healthy of a usage as vaping is that DC will want them to sully their products name. But what do I know this is all speculation on my part.

Third link for me, might be dif for you, but it's a wikipedia article!

Yup, it was different for me. I got all sorts of weird results. I don't typically ask someone to google something for me, I am quite adept myself. But, like I said, I couldn't find anything so I asked. Guess I will think twice before asking a simple question again.

Joe was incorect about this. Its HEMP CBD which is legal in all states.

This is what I was talking about @VaporJoes. You're free to say what you want, as we all are, but with someone with a big audience you should really be more careful with what you write. "I dont force anyone to read what I write" is not an excuse. When people report false news, they issue a retraction, not just delete what they wrote.

I posted several times about the legality of the specific item they were giving away at ECC in this very thread, yet my posts were unread. Yours stood out to your legion.

Own it.

The trademarks on Superman and Kryptonite are probably unenforceable, and the words considered public domain, because they've entered ordinary English. Just like a hoover for a vacuum cleaner has become a common word.

Her what?

you used "your" instead of "You're" as in "you are no different than anyone else".

Whiskey, I like you.... I have been around for a long time, I know you. But I have no idea what you are talking about.

I need these products for my personal health. I intend to quit eventually. I myself have purchased four authentic devices. Two Nimbus RDAs and two mods. The Nimbus rdas are nice and I still have them. The mods on the other hand I no longer have for poor quality. I had an authentic red Titan mod I paid about $250 for. Nothing really told me I was getting my money worth when I got it. Three months of saving up got me a metal tube that was not impressive or very reliable at all. The lock ring did nothing to stop the mod from firing when set down. Sold off. My second authentic (which I really had high hopes for) was a DPM box mod. Variable box rated for 6.5 volts maximum with two 18650's. $260 later, I had a nice looking box mod only capable of 5.1 volts that loved to stop working spontaneously, a button that made a clicky crunch, and had an extremely squeaky magnetic back cover. Looked nice, but no thank you. Both devices I was told there was no refund or warranty, only repair service which was $60. Seriously? It's broken so good luck on your ventures? I was in disbelief at the time. So I just dropped over $500 on two mods that were supposed to be "high quality" , but get one generic tube and a DOA box. No thanks, I like my clones and my home built mods. Less investment therefore less disappointment. Had to sell that one as well to someone who wanted to gut it for their own internals. Cancer from cigarettes took my grandpa, it will not have me because I can't afford some overpriced hunk of metal or wood. For me, my experience with authentic devices has made me very skeptical about investing much money into them. The idea of ripping off designs ultimately means nothing to me when people's lives are at stake.

Edit: I just bought an authentic RDA, designed in USA manufactured in china, that works fantastic. And it only cost me $30. It can be done.

^^ This. (Minus the Cannabidiol clarification) Is a header on top of every single Vaping Underground page. It is not a post. I will be focusing my energy elsewhere. This discussion is not serving a purpose when damn near every single post is either belittling someone for their opinion, or calling names, or... jeebus people. Have a debate, sure. Debate your asses off, some good stuff comes from that. But personal attacks are useless and serve absolutely no purpose in creating awareness to our (common) cause. Good day.

Just got a text message from a bunch of people that ECC (The Electronic Cigarette Convention) has banned vendors from selling clones and replicas.

Pretty sad, considering replicas dominate the industry and make up the bulk of hardware sales.

Your feelings?

UPDATE 9/6: NO ONE IS LISTENING - CLONES ARE BEING SOLD

Despite the rule from The ECC gods - Vendors defy them.
Multiple reports of vendors selling clones all over the convention.

UPDATE: 9/7: SOURCE: CBD laced candy in bowls given out by "booth babes"? Wrong Message?
idiotic and cheesy - booth babes is such a sleazy, immature, lowest-common-denominator type bullshit marketing move....

worse than the "brogramming" gaming scene

grow the fuck up (and maybe try not alienating a huge demographic of female vapers)

distributing CBD-laced candy profoundly stupid

why give the anti-vaping backlash more ammo?

Ya know, I'm so tired of hearing these BS vapers. "No clones, Clones are Bad, Cloners are stealing." *in a douche voice* People who spend thousands on vaping are idiots. Does anyone remember we started vaping because cigarettes are EXPENSIVE !!! If the authentic modders want to stop cloning, stop charging $200, $250, $300 per mod that costed you $10 to make. I have 1 authentic, and it's not any better than any Infinite, Hcigar clone that I own. Those cheap aluminum knockoffs, yes ban those. They're gonna get someone killed one day. But I'll be damned if I'm ever gonna pay $250 for a mod again. In fact my $200 Dominator RDA broke on me in less than 3 months. My $11 Mephisto clone is ripping away faithfully. Fuck authentics. Thanks for the cool design ideas, and cloners should pay the originators for the idea, but give them the blueprints and let them make you millions mass producing 1:1s. People would swarm on these products if they knew the designers were overseeing the production lines in China, and then they could stop the cheap knockoffs made out of half plastic half diecast metal. When you buy a mod and the brass paint wears off the contacts, you know you bought a POS. So Designers/ Respectable cloners (Hcigar, Infinite, EhPro) join forces and get rich together. You're doing it anyway, telling us you're not. Authentics roll o0ff Chinese assembly lines as well as the clones. That's how Alibaba puts out clones before the authentics hit the market. Back alley deals in China.

It not about which is better... It about one being a fucking ripoff of someone else's work. No logos or straight out design copy's fine.. No one would have this problem. To support or defend this ripoff commie slave labor practice in it current straight up stealing form is pure bullshit.

No morals
No ethics
The same mouth breathers that screw over their own mother for a dollar.....

That's what you clone lovers are, plain and simple.
Fail.

Not being able to find it is probably because the internet isn't the same for everyone, it gets tailored to what *they* think we want to see. Next time try searching in incognito mode, then you'll get 'internet vanilla' results instead of 'internet tailored for you' results.

OK. I completely agree with those that have said that the "serving of papers" was handled in a ridiculous manner. I'd like to hear exactly who was involved so that I can avoid sending any of my business to them in the future. As for clones, though I'd prefer them w/o the logos, I'm all for them. I hate the elitist snobs that post here that all clones are inferior. That is just WRONG. Example: I'm getting my Black Edition of the Kayfun from Artemis Custom Mods in the mail today. No logo and various improvements on the "original/authentic". And for <$40. That's where I'd like to see the market going. And no, I don't make enough money to afford authentic mods, even if I thought they were superior.

Again, I can't sift through all of this, but that was not proper service for multiple reason, and it's not a felony or any crime at all to tear it up, as I said before they can do whatever they want with it. If the papers were drafted against the company, depending on how it is formed, I.e. Llc, DBA, INC. Etc... You have specific titles that your able to serve. Two, he didn't establish positive identity, so even if it was personally drafted for that individual, the video won't hold much water. That is furthered by the fact that service requires hand to hand contact, unless they refuse, you establish positive identity, and then there is a lengthy but doable procedure for service by refusal. It's a bitch to do, and even more annoying to write the affidavit if you serve by refusal, but by dropping it on the table, that is what they did. Additionally, I don't know those guys, but if they are at all affiliated, an interested party, they cannot serve the papers.

Again, I support clones and will one day have an authentic, I hope, and selling clones as authentic is fucked up, but this was nothing more than a song and dance. Virtually everything about that serve was improper, and though not illegal, makes the service null and void. There are TONS of little rules that get even more complicated depending on the type of paper, and if it's personal or a business, and essentially everything they did was wrong. It's a joke to serve someone, and do all that if it's not even proper service, which it wasn't. The one smart thing they did was record it, I record EVERYTHING, but in this case the video will benefit the Servee.

Also, you can cuss, ridicule, really say anything to the people you're serving. It's far from a productive first option, but when people do it to you and repeatedly dodge service, it's one of the few fun things about the job. I served tons of child support papers, and those pissed me off. I have too many crazy stories to even get into it, but after you realize that a situation has dissolved into only getting the serve done by refusal, I damn well would talk shit to child support people. I'd see they were 10's of thousands back due, and that is something I take seriously. I talked a ton of shit in that job.

Anybody know if those guys are related to the case? And I'll have to look it up, but a lot of states require you to be licensed bonded and insured to serve papers as well. That was a joke.
