It not about which is better... It about one being a fucking ripoff of someone else's work. No logos or straight out design copy's fine.. No one would have this problem. To support or defend this ripoff commie slave labor practice in it current straight up stealing form is pure bullshit.

No morals
No ethics
The same mouth breathers that screw over their own mother for a dollar.....

That's what you clone lovers are, plain and simple.
So how do you really feel lol

The real offenders are the ones overcharging for product and trying to get rich quick on the emerging vaping market. Market your product at a reasonable price, establish yourself in the community and reap the benefits. Fuck these clowns serving papers.

I think it's hilarious seeing people bitch about how expensive legit mods are. Shows your dumb asses have no education and understanding the time that goes into designing these mods, and the price of the software and equipment to make it. I hope you bust your ass at work daily for minimum wages. I'm done reading this shit half y'all shouldn't live in America!!!

That video is hilarious, The clone haters really should take a look at who they send and when they send people to do legal work such as serving papers. With that bunch of clowns throwing documents around I would probably have reacted the same and torn them up.
In all honesty all this bullshit is pathetic, we all had a common goal to rid ourselves of tobacco. I really think these over grown punks as we see on that video are hurting the e-cig movement. It's almost as if those legit fan boys are working for the FDA.

As a machinist, if I came up with something original and the Chinese copied the design, I would take issue. I would not however if they sold something new and innovative they'd invented themselves at 1/10th of the price I'd have to sell my stuff at: they create it, they sell it at a price their country's wages and taxes allow them to, why should they be blamed?

As a consumer, I shamelessly go for the best value for money. Everybody does it, and those who claim otherwise are either liars or idiots.

I hope you bust your ass at work daily for minimum wages. I'm done reading this shit half y'all shouldn't live in America!!!

Newsflash: Americans are wage slaves too, just not as competitive as Chinese wage slaves. If you still believe that fairy tale that Americans have it good, try living in northern Europe some day.

America is quickly turning into a third-rate place to live in (it's already second-rate), unless you're born rich.

i got a 36,000 square foot building we can rent for 3k, includes parking and ticket booth usage, electric and water billed separately....can hold all the vendors we need for the Clonepocalypse! Beautiful Oregon settings and perfect atmosphere....whos in!?

What part of Oregon are you in?

Just got a text message from a bunch of people that ECC (The Electronic Cigarette Convention) has banned vendors from selling clones and replicas.

Pretty sad, considering replicas dominate the industry and make up the bulk of hardware sales.

Your feelings?

UPDATE 9/6: NO ONE IS LISTENING - CLONES ARE BEING SOLD

Despite the rule from The ECC gods - Vendors defy them.
Multiple reports of vendors selling clones all over the convention.
I love when Joe plays a tabloid reporter.

I am going to make a simple comment on this......... stuff like this drives the average consumer and his money to online stores.... avoid the drama. This is the second vape meet / convention with an incident that should not have taken place...first the mod exploding in Texas, and now organizers policing their own vendors in a vulgar screaming match. Nice.

It doesn't matter what your stance is on clones vs authentic... behavior like this is BAD for the vaping community... exploding mods at vape meets during cloud comps, BAD for the vaping community.

Intentionally making a video serving papers, publishing it online for the world to see, while entertaining for some, is BAD pr for the vaping community.....

Grow up guys.......... this is not the kind of stuff people need to be seeing right now, organizers screaming at vendors that they are ripping people off, stealing from other vendors....wow........ all I can say is wow.

I am not defending anyone here, but that whole situation is ugly on a lot of levels, already covered in this thread. And as for myself as a consumer wouldn't want any part of it. Why go to something like ECC 2015 where that kind of display has the potential to happen........... I'll spend my money online without the drama.

Well, so much for being on the fence about going. Not going to support that decision. I could see the logic in that decision if admission was paid for by the vendors. But seeing as it's primarily a venue for people to see and buy new products, then I won't be throwing my money their way. Nothing says elite like charging people admission to a venue and then telling them what they can/can't buy.
Vendors paid between $2000 to $10,000 per booth, sponsors paid up to $150,000. Might want to do some research.

Maybe for mods it's different, but I own a lot of designer items, ie duffle bags, clothes, shoes, watches etc.

Quality of counterfeits has never been up to par with the originals...

Take it with a grain of salt.

Today, I was standing there looking over their products when a guy bought a copper mutant..I overheard the vendor say $60.00 …I looked at the exchange…Anybody that knows better should realize the price gap here if they are truly AUTHENTIC…I call Bullshit! totally agree with the situation as I witnessed firsthand the sale of this clone to whomever that guy was…absurd..I understand if it were allowed..then no big deal..but this was strictly an authentic weekend..which we loved by the way..can't wait for the next

Unfortunately many of the mod makers are also working with China. Making money on both sides....
A lot of Authentics are made in china too.. how do you think they get cloned BEFORE they hit the market? Magic?
Joe, that's a bullshit lie. Name some US authentic mod makers that are working with China, and Vape Overload doesn't count because they are Florida based cloners.

whelp, vendors just raping new people, i guess this will be the death to the ignorant ecc. seems they forgot that we started this to get off cigarettes and help others. considering when i went to the one in Mass. it was quiet. and there was nothing i needed. fuck ecc, clones ftw
I used an eGo Twist to get off of cigarettes, I started buying mechanical mods as a hobby. That's a poor argument on your behalf.

Tyger said it best. A clone is when you copy an item and sell it as a clone. A Counterfeit is when you copy the product and try to sell it as an original. None of the vendors im aware of sell clones for original legit prices, and VJN clearly says "style, replica, or clone".
Nope. A Counterfeit is not determined by whether or not it is sold for too much money, or claims that it is the real deal. It's existence of being a Counterfeit remains after the sales process. It can be sold again, and again.

A Counterfeit uses designs with logos, and trade marks. Its not complicated. Clones are fine. Branding with someone else's logo, is identity theft. Is anyone confused?

If a company in China creates a line of VaperJoes hardware, says they are endorsed by Joe, uses the logos of the blog. Not a cent seen, not any agreement Would it be OK?

Well the Texas event was called VapeBLAST. :p We do everything big here in Texas! :D Kidding aside, all it really does is show lawmakers that there needs to be regulation of some sort. What that means is higher prices and import taxes for us end users. So hold onto your mods either authentic or clones they may be worth some change later!! Although, someone from OKC Vapes told me it will be a few years till there is any sort of tax implemented and less so in red states compared to blue ones. In the end all will have some sort of regulation, and he pointed to e-juice and not the devices themselves. I would find it harder to regulate juice than to regulate the device, since you can DIY juice fairly easily, not so with a mod. (maybe except box mods since those just require a bit of work, but no expensive CnC machine needed) The FDA and government will have a very tough time with this, but hey, more job growth!! :D

So is there some actual truth behind CBD candies being given out?
I am no lawyer but Las Vegas is pretty fucking strict on MJ and the trafficing of MJ.

Jesus wept, if ecc allowed this bullshit in the wake of the FDA and the whole fatstar video may many thousands of fucks be upon them.

if you save your pennys and stop buying 55 mods from fasttech every week you can afford a nice authentic. its rewarding getting something very nice and compensating the person who designed and created the product.. I hate when people whine about being poor and can only afford clones its not an excuse its a cop out...

clones may save peoples lives but authentic's do it with style
Dude i remember when you used clones just saying here is a cop out of your own remember when you traded me a SVD for a K101 because you broke your only mech and could not afford a new one. now i guess you could have used said svd while you saved your pennies for a new authentic mech.
So don't judge people for doing the same thing you have done your self. the K101 is a clone you know

SOURCE: CBD (low-THC, CBD-rich marijuana) laced candy handed out at ECC freely..... Only legal in 11 states.. CA is not one of them... The company that handed out the candy...

Where is it legal? http://www.celebstoner.com/news/mar...our-states-on-verge-of-passing-cbd-only-laws/

These were good guys, I had a chat with the dudes at the iJoy booth. Didn't pass anything off as authentic, all he said was that they were 1:1's, nothing more. Saw many people buying from him and didn't charge off the wall prices. 26650 atty's were 20, and 18650 atty's were 15. It was flat rate pricing. Mods were also $35.

No way these guys were passing stuff off as authentic, and whoever said that literally is out of their mind.
Agree with all that, except if you are selling fake Rolexes at Fake Rolex prices, they will still be able to stop you. Remove Rolex, and little Crown Trademark, and you can sell them all the time, everywhere.

Considering industrial hemp is still not legal to grow in the US, currently thank Hurst for that.
Hemp oil is so much different that CBD. I use hemp oil to supplement fatty acids in my diet.

CBD is an entirely different critter, currently in the US unless imported illegally is only from medical grade MJ and even then the manufacture of CBD oils is considered manufacturing a schedule 1 narcotic, in those states as well.

And yes I am very invested in the research of CBDs for reduction of cancer and chemo side effects.

Joe you buy mods from authentic modders all the time. Your comment about who wants to buy mods from an authentic modder is kinda funny, uhhhh you do??? Allby I think we all used clones at some point. Some choose to go the direction of authenticity.I buy authentics because the quality is far better to me, but that's my choice. I wish they would quit using the Logo's and such on clones. That's what's annoying, lots buy the clone because they want to appear as having the authentic.Without the graphics some clones would be just a generic copy. eeeeks the horror for clone lovers.

Fucking funny, this looks real official. So these guys are the voice of the elitist. LMFAO!
This wankers are complete idiots. Morons. I come to you and write a letter, saying stop X. It means nothing. I can burn it, eat it, trash it. A ceast and desist letter has NO legal authority. NONE.
All it shows, is that prior to doing a lawsuit, you as a company attempted to mitigate the damages, by telling them to stop. If they just stop, there are no damages, so no reason for a lawsuit, they could not win squat.

If they tell you to stop, you don't, AND YOU WIN, you can then say, after we told them to stop, they did this much more.

The biggest point, is this Video, will make any Jury, LESS sympathetic to them. Frankly I think the video would make them loosing in front of a jury, very likely.

morons at best.

Legally derived or not why highlight in the vaping scene when we are all under the feddies little microscope?
Still not the time nor the place for it in a vaping convention.

Im not for or against it. Joe seems to be on a mission to try to trash talk ECC at any given opportunity; with little to zero knowledge on the subject. Had he said what you said; I may agree with him.

Dude a good point was people bought and saw them (Ijoy) not passing it off an authentic but as clones and within reason of what the market supports.
what that video shows is the people putting on ECC as a bunch of spoiled basement dwelling man babies who cannot hold a phone correctly acting like complete jack offs.

Dude i remember when you used clones just saying

Allby my main few points I am making is 99% of the people who say they cannot afford them can. They just choose not too. And also the people who sit and say that the clones are better quality only say that because they haven't owned one. People designs are their own art and they should be compensated for their designs and the capital they have invested in design and crafting their mods.

People buy clones because they want to feel like it is real. When's the last time a clone has done anything that's new and exciting or ground breaking. They make money on someone else's hard work.

Sorry there are also the people who refuse to shell out 250 bucks for what is a broken flashlight.
I use a clone hades because it works I get vaper, would I shell out that much for an authentic? nah I don't like the clone enough to do that.
I do not care about logos as I said earlier if I could get logo and serial number free I would be a happier camper.

If it's just a broken flashlight and it's so easy to make why doesn't china just make their own designs. Instead they a banking on the logos to make them money.
