Evic vt - who's getting one, who has one already?

Weird. Try locking the atty resistance and see if it does it.

You do that by entering the menu (3 clicks). Put it in Ti mode, then go down to atty and hit the select button on top to the right. It should show a lock symbol next to the atty resistance.

Believe me, it has been locked ... doing this anyway. This time, I put it back in Ti mode without removing the atty. Vaped fine after. I just got up and cleaned out the 510 on a wild hair, but ... I didn't get any type of residue off the atty or the mod. It looks like I'm gonna end up with a warranty claim if it doens't stop happening and soon. Sad part is: I'm ready to order a back up, but I'm holding off till I get this one working consistently.

take the atty off, press the power button for 2 secs, screw the atty on, 3 fast clicks to get to the menu, right thumb the top selector to get to TI mode, left thumb the selector switch to get to the resistance listing, right thumb the selector to lock the resistance in. Let the mod exit the menu, and adjust your temp in TI mode and vape. Hopefully this will help. Resetting the mod by taking off the atty and pressing the power button for 2 secs is needed when you put on a new coil.

Thanks Zamazam ... I've also been through this already and continue to experience this Evic reset thing. I did do the atty reset again when I cleaned off the 510 - we will see.

And, while I was typing this up ... it jumped back into power mode. I think it's time for me to get talking with VapeNW about a replacement.

VapeNW is good about that stuff. They even gave me 20% off when they sent me the wrong color.

Gotta be a fluke. I own 2 of them and 3 of my friends have them and no one has had that problem.

I'm hoping ... got till tomorrow before they can do anything about it. I'm gonna spend tonight deciding how I want it handled. I've ordered a good bit from them so I expect'm to treat me well. If I get a second one though, Eciggity is a front runner so I can get a second Billow V2 in the same shipment - I've given up on holding out for a black V2. But, that'd mean I need VapeNW to send me a replacement so I can ship this one back. Even with this ghost problem, I don't want to be without - we'll see what I figure.

I've had nothing but good experiences with Eciggity, VapeNW and MyVaporStore. It's not much help, but it is only three sites to shop. I would order from any of the three without reservation or concern. I always have a coupon code for Eciggity; VapeNW ships crazy fast and efficiently; MyVaporStore has some stuff I need at great prices.

They're in Hawaii. Nice people but a bit of a pain if you have any issues. They don't have a phone number to call you and only seem to answer emails in the middle of the night (2am est).

I suggest vapeNW or myvaporstore. Both places are cheaper and they have excellent customer service

Ti saga continues. I sent VapeNW an email about a return this morning. But it got frustrating enough for me to take the build down to deck and coils, run it through the ultrasonic, tighten up posts (positives took a quarter turn - doh), re-wick and start anew.

So far ... 15 minutes of chain vaping and she's still in Ti mode. Let's hope I'm as stupid as the character I play at VU. I don't wanna give up this mod even if it is just to get a replacement.

Just received mine. Awesome looking. First thing i did was drill out the juice holes in the ti coil. Happily vaping 70/30.
So far, so good.
Update: Went through 2 tanks of ejuice, no issues with wicking at all. Kudos to kwtony for his modification idea.

Got mine today as well. I ordered 10 ni and 10 ti coils for the delta II tank and received those too. The mega tank that comes with it looks cool but I'm getting more flavor out of my Delta II tank.

Yeah, basically boils down to how much you really want to save that $7.

Never been much of a fan of Eciggity due to the lack of a phone # to call if something goes wrong. But given Vapenw is located in Wash and their $5 shipping or free with ejuice promo will amount to cheaper first class, in my experiences (east coast) it's really a USPS coin flip which gets to you first.

Wish Myvaporstore had black in stock. With reasonably priced priority mail, they'd be the pick out of the 3 imo.

ok so i did it. i ordered the white from MyVaporStore. pretty excited about it even tho i dont like the built in cell. i do however love the size and hope it works like i think it will.

there isnt a dry coil warning on this device is there?

Dry coil warning would be absence of vapor followed by noticing that the screen says "Protection" rather than displaying a temperature. Basically, if the coil reaches the temperature you have selected (which it does when wick is dry), it starts a wattage delivery dance to keep the coil at the temperature you have selected.

sounds perfect. i know that the YiHi chips will just stop supplying power to the coil and give a "dry coil" warning. i just dont want the device to shut off. as long as it keeps powering the coil and just never gets over my selected temp then i will be happy.

i dont use juice. i use e-solids and load a little and often (for flavor). so occasionally the wick coil will run dry before i notice. because i use RXW im not worried about the wick burning. i just want to keep the coils from glowing and producing any oxides.

so my hope is that this device will fire the coil until it reaches my selected temp. then stay at that temp regardless if it is dry or not.

i wasn't keen on the built in battery idea either but the battery life is so insane, I'm using it more than my sxmini and invader mini. The white one is nice looking too. I bought one even though I thought it may be a little girly, but I wanted something other than black since most of my mods are black. Turns out to be a really nice color.

I will also say the finish on these seems pretty nice. I dropped my yellow one a few times, once on payment and theres not a nick or scratch on it. My wedding ring isn't scratching it at all either.

It doesn't have a dry coil warning, its similar to the dna40 where it displays "protection". But the evic handles TC much different than the DNA40 or the SXmini. Both of those devices have you set a max temp and then the watts you want to vape at. They try to keep you at those watts but not exceed the temp. When your coil gets dry, or theres no airflow, you get the dry coil or Temp protection warning since even a low wattage will make it exceed temp. This is basically Temperature limiting

With the Evic, it has you set your Temperature and then the max wattage you want. It will use as much wattage as necessary to achieve that temperature and then lower or keep the wattage setting to maintain it, but it will not exceed you set max wattage. Much like the DNA40, if your coil goes dry or theres no airflow, it will stop firing all together and display "protection" since no matter how low the wattage is, it will hit that temperature. This is more of what I would call "temperature control"

Just think of it as having a dual purpose of being a backup to your 18650 battery charger ;)

I woke up this morning wishing i could have a do over and put my order into MVS for that white, but alas....my initial instinct just had to have black. Like it's really gonna matter if i end up buying the silicone cover case anyway...which i will.

So a day of "shipping label was created", an actual received date of tomorrow, and i'm probably looking at next Monday if lucky given Vapenw didn't offer a priority shipping option. It's been almost 2 months since i had a USPS first class package *not* get hit with a Delayed flag. But hey, gives me extra time to shop my Ti options and for that order to get here i guess.

Ehh, very minor gripe but i'd ideally prefer the option without having to buy more then what i'm looking for. And when a site states they do next day shipping....it should actually be next day shipping.

But as i initially pointed out, i knew the deal when i decided buy the black they had in stock that the other vendors didn't. So my typically impatient ass can wait :p

Any recommendations out there on Titanium vendors? Looking at buying from etsy.com atm

I would kinda disagree w/ your definitions. The Yihi's Dry Coil warning/shut down is not so much temp control as carelessness control. It's a safety feature to prevent... minor explosions in the facial area. read: stupidity. (dry vaping with no air flow )

I'ma go ahead & say it out loud... Yihi's TC stomps the eVic. They don't even belong in the same conversation. (Nor should they at a 4:1 cost ratio.)
The eVic does NOT know the correct atty temp. (I consider this a design defect.) A .2 Ni head will Temp Out (shut the mod down) at 40 watts unless you suck like yer' pullin' a golf ball through a garden hose. (ie. if you're a straight lung hitter)
Also, there's a 30w minimum in TC mode. WTF izzat??? So your total vaping range is 10 watts, that is from 30 - 40w.

I believe this lag in the eVic's temp sensing (chip) may be related to Joyetech's choice to measure output in watts instead of joules. Or it could possibly be a LiPo limitation. Either way, the eVic's chip bows humbly in the Yihi 350J's presence. That is a fact.

I will say the eVic's battery can dump current farrr faster than the M Class. It do gotz some vomp... If you need that kinda current dump, if yer' chain dripping at .1 ohm. But very few people do. But that'll make the M Class warm when the evic is still cool as a cucumber.

The Yihi is a better mod, but the eVic is a better mod for the money.

Just my .02

The evic minimum wattage is not 30w. On the evic, the wattage setting is what you want the maximum wattage to be whereas on the yihi chip, the joules (which is similar to wattage) setting is what the device will stay at.

If I put a .12ohm dual coil on the evic and set it at 430degrees, it uses around 22 watts (even though I have it set at 30watts) If I then take that same exact coil and atty and put it on my sxmini and set it to 430 degrees and 19joules (which is roughly the same setting at 22 watts), it hovers around 420-430degrees.

If I set the sxmini to 15joules (which is about 19watts) , the temperature never goes over 350degrees.

As I said, the sxmini has you set the wattage (or joules) that you want to vape at and it wont let you exceed your set temp. The evic has you set you desired temp and applies the wattage necessary to reach that temp. The wattage setting is only the max that you want applied not the wattage that the unit vapes at. The reason they have the minimum setting at 30w is because that roughly what you need to reach 420degrees with a .2ohm coil.. But If you set the temperature low (like 300-350 degrees) it will only use about 15 watts. Also, if you use Ti wire, the evic uses even less watts because titanium heats up and gets hotter faster than Ni200.

I have 2 of Both devices and they vape identically. They just do temperature control (which is actually temperature limiting) in different ways. Both devices are actually guessing the temperature based on calculations after measuring the change in resistance of the coil as you vape.

Also, one of the main reasons the sxmini m class is more expensive is because of features in the chip. The 350j chip offers memory settings, boost settings, bypass mode, upgradable firmware and the ability to go to 150 watts in wattage setting (with the use of a second battery). None of these features are on the evic, but the evic offers Ti mode. I venture to say that if you ask many Sxmini users if they had their choice between memory and boost settings or a Ti mode, they would take the Ti mode. Ti is easier to work with, the coils last longer and they require less power to achieve temp (which means longer battery life). If the reason that the sxmini cost more was because of how it handles temperature control, then the IPv4 would not be 1/3 the price since they both accomplish temperature control in the same exact manor using the same technology. The only difference between the the sx330v4s and the 350j are the extra features I mentioned above and it's those features that make it more expensive.

Yes. I've seen spidersilk on Amazon and it's been listed for about $11 plus $5 shipping so it's roughly the same price. There are a couple of other baking companies that sell Ti vaping wire and they are all similar in prices. Sweetspot vapers is selling .4mm wire(26g) at 10ft for $11. There's another one called titanwire that sells for a similar price.

The wire available from vaping companies is grade 1 surgical and has supposedly been cleaned and prepped for vaping.

I will say that though it's more expensive, there titanium coils seem to last a lot longer Than the ni200. They don't seem to gunk up as much and are easily cleaned with hot water and a soft toothbrush. (Do not dry burn or torch titanium coils). I use a lot of fruit and desert juices and they generally gunk up my ni200 coils so bad that I only get a couple of days on a coil before I have to out a new on in but I've been using the same Ti coil on my evic for over a week now (about 125ml of ejuice) and it's still perfect. all I've done is rinse it off and lightly run a toothbrush over it (2 or 3 strokes) every 2-3 days. You also don't need nearly as much wire to get a decent coil.

Yeah, been pretty down on Nickel lately. Don't mind working with it, but it does gunk up quick and i miss the length of time before rebuilds i used to get out of Kanthal.

Appreciate the advice btw. Excited to give this Ti a whirl. Do you use Ti on your SX Mini as well by chance? Was reading conflicting stuff on that right before i replied back here.

I tried it on the sxmini, but the calculations for resistance to temperature are very different between ni200 and Ti. Because of that, the sx doesn't really know the temp of the coil. Setting the sxmini at 16j and 320 degrees would burn the cotton and made the vape way to warm for me. It is basically a guess game which results in you having to do trial and error to get it to the wattage and temp that works. To get a similar experience to where I like to vape temp control Ni200 coils (430 degrees at 20-25joules) I had to set the sx to 250degrees and 13joules. Became too aggravating so I just switched back to ni200. Worst part is all my rta (I don't like buying coil heads) are dual coil only so I have to use 30 or 32 gauge wire and trap under screw heads. I've gotten very good at working with the thin ni200 but they gunk up quick and I only get about 1-2 days of exclusive use before needing to replace.

I'm really hoping that yihi puts an update out to use Ti rather than making us buy a new chip. If they do, it will put the sx back on top (at least for me). As I said in another post, after using Ti i'd much rather have a Ti mode over the memory and boost settings so if I could have both, I'd be in heaven. One thing's for sure, if they only release it in the form of a new chip, I won't be buying it for a while. With having 2 sxmini m class, 2 evic vt, a hanamodz v4d and an invader mini, for me to buy a new Tc device right now, it would have to come just short of having sex with me. Now, if they could figure out a way to have TC with kanthal I might reconsider but the only way I can see that happening is if they put a thermometer on the coil since kanthal doesn't change resistance much when it gets hot

The zephryus and billow v2 seem to be my favorite tanks on the evic vt. I would love to find a really good single coil RTA that is designed for temperature control. Had high hopes for the smok tct, but no rba deck and I'm not a fan of the kanger. Maybe the Goliath v2 will be the answer

Most people i see seem to prefer the Lemo 2 as their go to on single coil TC.

Personally and in my own experiences on it, it's a love/hate relationship. Really do love it when it's working, stress point on the "when", but it's the only rebuildable piece i've ever had any real trouble with. Getting the wicking "just right" can be a pita, otherwise the juice flow tends not to keep up with anything in the 24J+ range.

Others claim they've never had an issue. YMMV

Yeah, tried it and and wasn't a fan. Had lots of wicking issues and other stuff. I'd rather deal with the resistance issues in the kayfun v4

I second the lemo 2 the trick is thread the chimney and base to the top piece till it stops so when you thread it together the chimney base is only halfway threaded on the base threads = no wicking problems

It is supposedly 99.5% pure and it specialty cleaned for vaping. To be grade 1, the wire doesn't have to be 99.5% pure. I've seen 95% pure titanium wire labeled as grade 1. The grade also refers to how soft and malleable it is and that's determined by the purity.

For me, d rather be safe than sorry. The etsy site doesn't list how pure it is, so I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get the spider silk

Well i assume it's pretty much the same deal that we see going on with Japanese cotton. $1 a sheet! If there is a markup buck to be made, people are going to try making it.

Like Mroutlaw pointed out though, better safe then sorry. I'm as cheap and always looking for the best deal as they come, but not listing the actual purity % struck me as a deal breaker on that
