Mech squonking on some diy juice. All the gear is stuff I picked up from the Hardware section...except the batteries.

I believe Liion is the only authorized distributor of Molicel. These say OEM. One IMR reviewer says the are stamped OEM under the wrapper. Never heard of OEM. Same specs on the wrapper as Molicel and all the reviews on their website are positive. I was going to order some even tho I don't need them but IDK.

Yes sir. Anything made by an original manufacturer would be considered OEM. I just haven't heard of OEM being a company name for batteries.

I called IMR. They won't say anything other than due to contractual obligations [Molicel&LionWholsale] they cannot divulge anything other than the distributor has black inked the battery's casing. So It pretty much has to be Molicel as the distributor to IMR because Liion or any other 2nd party isn't going to do that.

I have 8 "Molicel" branded P26As, utilizing 4 for my 2 mods...replaced some aging VTC5As I had for a few years...figured to give them a try and they are working great. The 5As still worked, but were aging and only holding 4.12v after full charge...plus I used to abuse those with .08Ω-.12Ω builds back in the day lol

I bought 6 more from IMR...6 batteries for $19 shipped, hard to pass up...I'll compare them when they arrive to the "Authentic" ones I have...

Weight, stampings, total discharge, internal resistance etc.

I'm confident they will be fine and work fine for my intended purposes... I mean, I only vape at 14w lol

    14/3.2v=4.375a/.85% efficiency= 5.15a and even slightly less if you run a DNA133+ (97% efficient) 4.51a ;)

Also... if anyone wants or has a need for batteries?

    I have 10 VTC5As, 2 30Qs, 4 HB2 Pinks, 4 HB2 Creams, 2 25rs, 2 VTC5s, 2 HG2 for free... just pay shipping and they are all yours

EDIT: Steeldriver called dibs - Caveat being they don't cost more than $20 to ship ;) Will update after I head to the post office tomorrow

Man they're probably legit. Only 3 places I'd go for batteries. Liion, IMR and illlllum.

Got my Asmodus Spruzza and Luna from Vapor Range and I thought I'd post a pic or two. I like the Spruzza green, Oni One is ok, but I like the color, especially for $35. I really like the Luna, feels good in the hand with a finger fire (I'm right handed). Haven't built the Galatek deck yet but put it on for a photo. I put a gold Recurve on it and I really like the vape. Thanks again for all the input. And I'm impressed with Vapor Range, quick ship Luna 1.jpg Luna 2.jpg Spruzza 1.jpg Spruzza 2.jpg

Boy did these go fast. I saw your post, logged on and put 6 of them in my cart, went to do something else and came back in 10 minutes and couldn't place my order since they were gone. Damn.

    Can yer sqounk do this?

    IMG_0262.JPG

10ml of juice, but separated from battery by a 1/8" of metal. Proper.

And, it has a mechanical off switch incorporated into the button like a good mecha. One-finger control like a Nanos. :)

    Good reason it is legend.

Agree. I wanted the brass one always. But, figured, I'll get one later when it's cheeep.
That never happened then they went away...Derp!

Ya, they are around still, but I'd still rather have a Slug.
    Or, an Ehpro Kyptonite: https://www.thevapordepot.com/EHPRO_Kryptonite_Mod_p/kryptonite.htm

Nobody remembers those mods, but I do. I have text files going back before vaping and I even began. ;-)

Ehpro and Hcigar were in a war then...competing to make the baddest azz shit they could. We all won.

Lucky Bear, if I wasn't tapped for the month I'd snag that so fast....lol
I'm good though, enough things is enough.

(I'm sooo lying..there is never enough things)

But, I'm good and I hava old cat I love and have to care for, she takes precedence over all.
My vapes are not my life.
My Tiki is. We're the same "age" now...our paths are intertwined.

Train, good to see ya...been a few years!

Very nice. Now show me a brass CV firing button. 'Cuz stilI want one. ;-)

They made a brass mod, and never a brass button to match. That is bullocks.
    I've seen hand machined ones.
EZ to insulate the brass for their purposes. The switch is so simple.

Remember the Buzz Pro and it's 'gap'? I have one of 10-12 solid naval brass 'gap-fillers' ever made.
Anything can be done mate. ;)

/BTW, I have two Veritas RDAs incoming, I'll have all three colors for the first time in a decade. :D

    Cheers bud...

Mornin, everyone (or g'nite to you Ozzie folks, sleep tight...) !!

@BobsHere hi bud, want to get your take on the Sahara RDA. Mine came yesterday. Finally at 3:30 this morning I couldn't stand it any more, was wide awake and thinking about it, so I got up and put coils in the thing. What I'm thinking right now is that it's definitely vapable, but beyond that, just sorta meh. Flavor doesn't hold a candle to some of my single-coil RDAs.

So maybe I made a bad choice with the wire I used. It's just 24 gauge n80, round, 3.5mm ID, eight wraps, the two coils read at 0.30 ohms. Wicked with rayon that I got from our good buddy Huck. Have tried wattage all the way from 38 to 55, obviously the vapor gets a little warmer as I go up, but I don't notice a big difference in flavor anywhere in that range.

Tried both a DIY Lemon Tart and The Beard No. 32 clone (cinnamon funnel cake). Not my best flavors, but better than this in other RDAs and RTAs.

Coil positioning: When I look through the airflow holes I can see the top and part of the side of the coils. Do I have the coils too low?

Suggestions? I'm all ears, anyone who wants to give their two cents. Or fifty cents. Just use words I can understand, no words like persnicatude. 'K?

So, I recently bought the Vicious Ant Spade 27000 mech squonk. I have it paired with the Entheon rda. I'm running 22g Ni80 -10wrap - 0.47 - When I hit the button very little vapor is producing with veryyyy slow ramp up time. I'm lacking on vapor and I cant seem to find the right build. I've never ventured into Kanthal wire so I don't know what to except.

What gauge wire would be good for Kanthal - like a 26 or 28 to get a satisfying vape?

    Single coil build

    Help me please!

I usually ran a. 25 or a little lower in the entheon on a mech. A little warm which you may not like. But it's actually running a little less wattage with your build. Both builds in the photos are well within a 20amp batter but differences in wattage. You may need higher wattage to heat a 22g. I'd go with a 26 with single coil. [IMG][IMG]

Also what battery you using? Also if you like the nichrome should probably stick with it just try different gauge. I don't like kanthol just use ss and nichrome 80. But it is cheap enough to try some kanthol you may not notice a difference. 26 is a good gauge to start with. IMHO

I figure that's a lot of thick metal. I had the entheon on a 20700 dotsquonk. Only battery out at the time was the ijoys. I put 3.9 to figure in Voltage drop. But why I mentioned well within a 20 amp range. I don't know of a lower amp20700.

I just recently outdated the Hive squonker from Swedish Vaper. Has anybody ever used one or have opinions on it? It looked like a good one, and fully mechanical. Just curious what you all think.

With the honeycomb designs. I liked it. It's super light. Mine had an extra door and button. Worked well. Never any issues. Also cam with a "dinky" rda. Like a 16mm rda. But was a nice vape.

I didn't get the kit with therda, but does come with the extra door and button. Looks pretty sweet. I will be ordering the Yellow Jacket rda on payday to go with it. Ironic, I know, I had already decided on that rda before I even knew what squonker I was buying and it is so fitting with a mod called the Hive LOL. On top of it being a good performer, I think it will look really sweet too

If it were me and I wanted to try to make do with what I had onhand, just for now, I'd try that 22 ga Kanthal in a 5-wrap parallel coil. The RDA you're using is a clamp style, right? Put one lead to each side of the screw, so the clamp sits level and comes into equal contact with both wires.

Then I'd place an order for 24 and 26 ga n80, some Geekvape MTL Clapton wire, also n80, and build staged heating coils with the 24 and MTL FC, and parallels with the 26 ga.

Coils will be very responsive anywhere from 0.25 to 0.45. Beyond that, the ramp-up time starts to try my patience.

ETA: You might want to expand that KA parallel coil to 6 wraps, if there's room in the RDA. Resistance at 5 wraps will be pretty low, like 0.2 or lower.

At a sale earlier this week at Aliexpress, I ordered an ultem-colored Vapor Storm Raptor squonker. Wanted another mech box squonker that would take a 21700, which is why I chose this, plus the price was embarrassingly cheap. Anyone ever used one?

Will probably put the VC Shogun RDA on it, if the colors look ok together (Shogun is a transparent smoke black over a gold deck, so it has a dark gold-ish look to it). If that makes me crazy, I'll put a SS Flave RTA or a black TT Morphe on there.

Morphe was on my Cut squonker, but I've replaced it at least temporarily with the Sahara RDA that came yesterday.

Always musical atties. Seems like every day I'm moving something around.

ETA: At the time I ordered, I didn't know this, but the Raptor is apparently semi-regulated. Has five-clicks on and off, some flickery lights inside it, fire timeout, low voltage, low battery, and over-temp protections, even USB charging.

Yea I enjoyed it. Click fire button 3 times to turn the light off. Lol. Everything I have is put on the back burner at some point unfortunately.
