Thank you for the list, raymo! Which of the ones you posted should I start with? Something that I can probably make with the limited experience I have.

Dont hinder your reach, experiement and try anything you can...you are the only thing that limits what you can do...If you go at something with the approach you cannot do it you will make it difficult for yourself...go in with a open mind and a positive approach and make sure to plan what your going to do first...if you start with a good prep and plan then the rest will fall into place.

Try a hybrid...its easier then you think, 1" of wire is 2 wraps on a 3mm ID coil....try a coil with the center 2 wraps fused and the wraps onthe sides not wrapped to start with....

Loop your 26g through the swivel and attach it to the drill, make sure its atleast 7". Then estimate where a 3" length is and fuse the center inch. Do that in 2 spots on the wire....then cut them from the wire and coil them.

Then try a go at aliens

I'm going to try a hybrid right now. Thank you so much! You're a master at making coils, I hope to be even close to as good as you one day. :)

Here's how I set up alien cores. Bind your cores flat, fold in half and bind them together to make a loop. (Optional:)Make 3 ribbon sliders close to the end and flatten them. Pull the cores tight and slide down to the very end. Glue 1" in front of your fingers and bind the end.

When making an Alien, how much do I stretch out the wrap (or is it called a decore?) for a 4-core build?

No such thing as a fused fused clapton.

Aliens work on a 1:3 ratio. Your core needs to be 3x wider than your decore but it's not set in stone. For 4x 28g you can use a 26 or a 24g decore. The bigger the decore is bigger the circle is making the alien print...more swoosh.
The stretch is up to you.
Once you get your cores solid I like to stretch as far as I need to so I can fuse with little tension.
It's easy to tell if you need more or less.
If it's not stretched enough it'll make mohawks. Too much and it just doesn't work.
Smaller fuse wire means you usually need less stretch.

Aliens also work on a 2:3 ratio meaning your decore needs to be 50% longer than what it's going to cover.

Thanks! That really helps me out. :)

I've decided to wait until I get a lot more wire to start working on new coils, as I can't risk running out and not being able to do my Clapton builds for my attys. Even 100 foot amounts of 38ga wire are beginning to be not enough. :D

Had a play tonight, not tried staggered before so pulled out some old ka1 to pratice and pulled it off with ease using the button method.

The spacing of the staggered was a little large on the first run going for a single coil so I tried again using a smaller gage through the button and had enough for the attached duel.

Ive run out of time now so will try them again with 316L when I next get a bit of time.

It 24g with 34/35g stagger and fused with 34/35g All ka1.

If the core is an alien (I can't tell) you should be able to make a straight alien stay in the frames by just floating it between the frames. Hold it in with ribbon on both ends and use a slider.

Uggh...finally got it...although I only made enough for one coil...

20 mins of prep, tape, tension and 15 seconds of clapton...started the wrap...went slow at first didn't see cores budge...then let her rip.

28x3N80x36N80 3mm 6wrap

Think I'll enjoy this small victory before I Murphy myself and blow through a spool of 36 attempting another lol

EDIT: Made a second one a few hours later...the one was taunting me...vaping on them now in my SOI Shorty... Dropped it to 5 wraps for the .15

Just got the Reload RTA in.. threw a Tiger Coil Build in it but I Claptoned the Round wire and Flat wire.

They look awesome ...was trying to make something like this myself but braided went horribly wrong I'll have to try it your way mate :) how many flat wire did you stack or was it a single ply?

My first post, and my first quad build on a Rafale X. 6 wraps of twisted 26g K1 @.48ohms (cause of the rafales neutral post) my 2nd build on this deck, first was triple twisted 7 wrap dual coil @.9ohm (.45 each, need to ditch this neutral post lol)

Single coil build for the new druga. Flat ribbon .5mm ka1 framed with 26g ka1. 38g n80 wraps and paralleled with 22g ka1. .1 ohms. Not the most flavor but chuck's some of the biggest clouds of anything I have built to date.

The specs on the whole build are 26g/36g Clapton and one piece of .6 Ribbon/38g Clapton wrapped on a 2.5 mm bit. The Ohms came out higher than what I normally build at .28 which was strange :/

whats the best ohm reader right now? i find myself just using the hohm wrecker lately because only one of the many readers i have reads the same as it consistently (the one from the coilmaster v2 kit). the problem with that one is that it starts to fall apart below ~.15 ohms. the wrecker usually isnt 'handy' to check every build on, and im sick of gambling on the ones at the vape shop (got a pile of them that never agree on the resistance of anything). looking for something that can 100% reliably read way lower than i need it to, and i dont really care if it has a tab style 'fire' button option (but thats a plus if the reader is solid).

USA ohm meters are always up the top of reviews for accuracy

Have a geekvape 521 myself pretty decent similar to the coil master though I expect

Most ohm readers Ive tried have one issue or another and some companies arent as supportive as most would believe..I would continue to use the Hohm Wrecker...its more accurate then most boxes out there.

The Coil Master Tabs...I have 2 and neither of them function anymore...

coil-master-reader.jpg

Geekvape is nice and durable...lng lasting but isnt completely accurate but probably is the best Ohm Reader so far.I have both the full size and mini and the mini is top notch

geek_vape_521_tab_mini_ohm_reader_with_tank_2.jpg

USAOhm Meters...they are expensive, they are accurate but if you ever have an issue with it then I hope your friends with the owner or you probably wont get help...

3DUSA-2.jpg

The Ud Box Mod/Ohm Reader looks pretty cool but I havent grabbed one yet but it may be the next one I grab also.

The Pilot Readers look just like the CoilMaster versions...and its around the same price..

i actually considered the usaohmmeters one a few weeks ago when i ordered my spinLT. apparently i should have pulled the trigger on that, when i go to the site now the whole navigation bar is different, there is no listing for ohm meters and site search brings up nothing? wut?

God let's hope so.
People were so eager to support a company that stole IP from builders.
It's like they fucked us twice with every sale.

Here's build I made with out any 3d printed bull shit...BTW you can get a real hand vise for the same price they charged for a plastic one.

I've only played with 26g kanthal thus far but have done single, twisted, and a triple twist build and have them pretty down, what should I learn next? Claptons?

Been surfing YouTube and I think I'm gonna do a zipper build next, but it's not much different than the triple I already do it's just 2 of them parallel with one twisted the opposite direction. Plus I already have a ft of triple spun out so I'm already halfway there lol, need to wait on 32g wire anyway for the Clapton. I'm a quick learner tho, only started vaping last October, finally quit cigs on xmas, and started dripping about 1.5 months ago. Had someone build my first but have done all my own rebuilds since and I love it, it's fun and you get a sense of pride when something you built with your own hands fires the deliciousness into your throat lol

Build what you want when you want. I was told I should learn to clapton perfectly before trying aliens. Well clapton was useless to me so by trying aliens I became better at clapton and aliens at the same time.

Messed up on the zipper coil (forgot to twist one opposite) so I guess it's just parallel triple twists coils, ran in serial. 6 wraps @.5ohms... also got my alien 220w and needless to say I'm glad to be away from a single battery 60w max mod but the alien is amazing.

Reverse Transformers :/

Did everything Backwards with this.. instead of 2 x 26g/36g Claptons wrapped with ribbon wire and staged with 26g.. I paralleled 2 x 26g and wrapped it with a .6 ribbon/38g Clapton and staged it with a 28g/38g Clapton. First build I've done on the Skill RDA as well.

Nice staggertons whiteowl84 very clean. What gauge did you use on those 40-42? I like that huge stack in the middle too.
Those tsukas look crazy good too raymo, that's badass with .2R
Here is some attempts I made recently some better than others. Still experimenting with staggered variations and paraclap for interlocks. Think I tried a bit more than I can currently handle on the staggering but I learned a lot. Tried a quad 28g interlock with decore of 24g and that's the pic, but today I tried the decore with 26g and it came out wrecked, didn't stretch enough I think. interlockquad.jpg layerstagtry.jpg

Owl's Groove fused Staggs were with 46g...about the size of human hair ;)

Keep up the great work! I can see improvements with every post!
