2003: The electronic cigarette is first developed in Beijing, China by Hon Lik, a 52 year old pharmacist, inventor and smoker. He reportedly invents the device after his father, also a heavy smoker, dies of lung cancer. The company Lik worked for, Golden Dragon Holdings, developed the device and changed their name to Ruyan, which means "like smoke." :D

Right but wrong sorta.

The first known person on record to have the idea for an electronic smoking device was Herbert A. Gilbert. In 1963, he filed a patent for this type of product. Hon Lik actually developed the first one.

I have a couple lab mastiff mixes around 90-100lbs. Awesome dogs too.

My question is regarding yours. What is the comparison you would be refering to? 4 wraps vs ? The same resistance to something depends a couple variables. Diameter or wire gauge.

Sorry I worded my question poorly.... 4 coils of x amount of wraps to be the same resistance and heat up evenly? I now other parts of this forum cover coil builds just never saw one for how to repeat and use in same device. thought I would ask here in the Fury-s contest

When building, each coil must be built identically and neatly as possible. The length of each leg also will matter before tightening down on the atty. Think symmetric. Also when oxidizing you must squeeze the brighter glowing coil first to allow it to match the others and continue that until they start working together. Each coil cuts your resistance in half too. I would think you're using at least 2 ohm coils for that quad coil, if thats what you're meaning.

Anyone rocking the tobh? Clone or not.

I decided to go with the copper stillare with last dripper purchase and a igo w6. Although the copper tobh was what I originally was considering

And individual on the forum here recommended it over the tobh. not sure why decided what the heck and got it. I think I'll put a hybrid single coil in it today and try it out.

It was actually invented by Phillip Ray.

Not actually electronic at the time but it was not an analog.

http://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/a...s-1970s.html?awt_l=Eqp5w&awt_m=IqXbDHs.WE8Eb4

And George Gilbert had stated that he had built them but his workshop burnt to the ground and reportedly he is bringing the original design back.

Empire Cigs or something like that.

Nope and nope. Never lost or broken. But those two reason are why you always have back-ups for your back-ups. :D

Never broke nor lost however always carry multiple backup and backups to backups. Prepared for that doomsday scenario while away from home :)

Tuesday high of 78 instead of 95 and its not like the humidity can get any higher so cooler works just fine

? Do u keep a ego and a low end device on hand or tuck away in the car for "emergency" vape situations ?

When my SVD acts all chinese and crap, I bring along my vision spinner in case. Had to do that a few times because these SVDs are so tempermental.

What back ups do you carry, if any?

Never lost, but have dropped them a few times each, hoping each time that I was as lucky as the last time I dropped it. So far only drip tips have been broken. Keep extra tips!

How many drip tips have you all broken for being clumsy or forgetful?

Never broken one but being of the older side of life, i have misplaced mine more than a couple of times. Not lost but just forgot where I left it.
Sucks really as just a couple of years ago, I didn't have that problem. I need a location beeper put on mine now. Any one sells them.

(Hint to Origin, find or make one for us older folks...)

I "lose" my SVD all the time.

If I stand it up (vertically) anywhere but the table beside my armchair, it is invisible to me.

If I lay it down on its side, I can find it from 300 yards but I don't lay it on its side when I have a tank attached which is almost always.

I have an Magneto and love it. I don't sub ohm so I can answer that part of the question.
Love the magnetic fire botton and have had no problems with it.
Origin does have an extension tube that I got so I could use 18650Battery in it and love the long life i get.

Q What is the difference in watts and volts? I usually see people prefer watts? Why? Seems to me they would be the same?

To me, it seems the wattage give more power, if that is what I mean.
Voltage I can adjust a little at a time but seems to start burning above 4 volts, while with wattage, I can get up to 10 to 12.
again, newer vapor and still don't understand it all.
For all I know 4 volts are the same as 12 watts..
depending on the juice decides if i use wattage or volts.
normal start for wattage for me is 8.5, voltage 3.9.
I guess that is the standard from what I have read.

Think of it like this folks... manual transmission vs automatic. In an automatic (wattage mode), you select 'drive' (watts) and the car selects whatever gear (voltage) is best for the speed (power) you want. In a manual, you have to change gears (voltage) to keep the car going the speed (power) you want. You stay in first too long (lower voltage), and you won't go any faster (more power or watts) until select the next gear (higher volts).

Saying you selected wattage and then adjust volts is like saying you selected 'D' on your gear shift, but then moved it to 'Low'.. you have just now over ridden the 'automatic' part of your automatic transmission and are now actually in manual transmission mode.

So far I hate silica and like cotton for everything. Gotta get ahold of some rayon soon and try that.

What do you wrap your coils on, if you build your own?

I like how you broke this down to common terms. It sounds about right to me.

Do you prefer voltage or wattage? Or just straight off the battery?
