when i vape TC on Ni or Ti i feel the temp stays the same for most of the draw. And that is one of the main points of TC. Dry hit prevention is an added bonus to TC. So the question to you is
while using the TC kanthal mode, do you feel the temp of the vape stays consistent to you as it does when vaping in TC mode with Ni or Ti

I was playing with Kanthal last night on the dripper. I can't say I noticed any change in temp but I was more focused on trying to make it dry hit and it didn't. I'll try it again tonight.

Ok so here's a little update. So far I've tried The Matrix Sub Ohm Tank with a .2 Nickel coil Temp control with Nickel works perfectly. I've also tried a Dark Horse with dual coil 12 wrap 24 gauge Kanthal around a 1/8th drill bit .5 ohms, a Tugboat with the same build and the High Voltage Tank with a .2 Kanthal coil in it. Had no trouble with the 510 connector reading any of them like Smokie had. So Mattp asked a question does it regulate Kanthal like Nickel or Titanium. My answer is what I have found is that it regulates it but not in the same way. For Nickel the vape is the same temp from the start of the draw to the end of the draw. With the Kanthal you teach it first in the watts mode and then switch to the TC mode. What I can say it does do is regulate it. What do I mean by that? It ramps up to your desired vape and then regulates it up and down to maintain the temp. So it starts out a little cooler then ramps up to the desired vape then it doesn't get any hotter so at the high end it stays consistant. So it's a little different. Another thing is that I threw the tugboat on it not knowing one of the legs of one of my coils had broken. So here I am trying to get a dry hit and I just couldn't ! Every time I pulled the cap one side of the cotton was pure white almost and dry but not enough to give a dry hit. So again it worked ! I pulled the cotton and fired it to burn off the coils and that's when I found that one coil was broken. I'm going to be playing with it more and letting you guys know as I find out. What I still do say is that even if you forget about the Kanthal thing it's a great box just for the size alone, build quality, looks and TC for Nickel and Titanium ! I have to get one for my son now he's bugging the crap out of me lmao !

Thanks @Breazy_Com
Form your description it loosely regulates temp with Kanthal then you just arent allowed to use a number to pick the temp. Now for someone to take a temp probe to it to give full proof or disproof of temp control in Kanthal

I wouldnt be surprised if it does actually regulate the temp or be surprised if it doesnt. but I suspect it sort of regulates the temp just not as well as traditional Ni200 or Ti

Exactly ! I did have an infared thermometer I was playing with measuring temps last night on the Dark Horse. Was a little difficult but every time I took a reading it was staying pretty close to the same. Then I got a little busy and had to do real work lmao. here's what I'm saying. Don't read into all the what can it do what can't it do. I know I know that don't make sense. It's a great little box on it's own and it does prevent dry hit's on Kanthal. I haven't seen anything else that does that and it works ! Also it does regulate or "taste control" Kanthal just not as perfectly as Nickel or Titanium.

The big surprise for me is... after reading the few reviews out now I'm still really intrigued by this device. I wasn't going to jump to a conclusion about the Asolo before it was seen 'In the wild', but honestly I didn't think it was going to be able to do what folks are now reporting. Very surprising! The idea of going back to Kanthal and getting an approximation of temp control and no dry hits is pretty tempting. Just really don't care for nickel all that much for a variety of reasons. I guess nickel is OK is some respects and I do use it and have been for a while, but I would prefer Kanthal overall. If I see a few more reviews and they are positive I'm pretty sure I'll swoop one up as soon as @VaporJoes get's off his dead ass and cooks up a steal for us :D

Would someone be kind enough to save me an hour of going through this thread and summarize? From what Ive gleaned:

1. gracechen says her and/or her company made a TC device that can TC kanthal builds
2. people reacted negatively, saying they wanted proof
3. gracechen finally sent some review mods
4. responses came back that yes, in fact it does TC kanthal?

Is that the correct vibe?

The jury is out on if it controls the temp of kanthal or merely stops dry hits. It definitely does not do kanthal TC the way we are used to. You cant set the temp with a number, only by "taste" It is definitely a step forward in technology, now the price is a concern

Speaking of replicating tech: I admit I buy clones...but its odd how these vape products are cloned and there is absolutely no repercussion. It's, I guess, like downloading mp3s illegally...you saw everyone else do it with no penalty so you're just like...well, I may as well, too, if there's no big deal about it.

It's considerably more complicated when you have multiple associated companies under an undeclared umbrella corporation, or IP shared or distributed among companies, or excess production marketed under alternate brands, etc... or just good old corporate espionage. :p

The prosecutorial side gets even more complicated, believe it or not. We're talking about multi-national IP rights without the protection of existing trade and copyright agreements.

No... this is not the same as pirating a pop song.

"It's better than that."
- Chuin of Sinanju (paraphrased)
:p
I appreciate your getting into the intricacies of this, but my gut feeling says it's pure copying, with the multinational aspect making it hard to prosecute so no one even attempts it. But hey, I'm not making moral judgments -- again I buy clones and love getting the products at discounted prices.

When the chosen one; with, the most midi-chlorians rose up and defeated the evil empire during the clone wars.

I saw one mistake he made right off the bat. When using the RDA and Kanthal you need to set it watts mode and take like 5-7 regular draws that you normally would to teach it. Then if you go into Kanthal temp mode it will work and let the RDA go until the cotton is juuuust about ready to give a dry hit. I did try a few different tanks and RDA's and didn't have any troubles. Even with the nickel coil I found if I let it learn first then went into TC mode it worked flawelessly. I'm going to keep using it and keep you guys updated.

Full context matters, wouldn't you agree?
Cherry picking partial quotes bad, mmmmmk? :D

I didn't quote anyone, wouldn't you agree?
Mmmmmk?

But for the sake of clarity:

There are not many pure communist/socialist countries remaining.
And China's no longer one of them, but it's still... "close enough for government work".
Now, China's no longer a communist country? When did that happen? Oh, I see; you're hanging you hat on the word "pure". Clever? Not so much.

Anyone who thinks the People's Party doesn't significantly influence, if not outright control, every so called private enterprise in China is deluded. Capitalism in China is more smoke and mirrors than substance.

I'm not particularly obstinate though. Where have I gone wrong, Jim.

No I noticed when I was using the Dark Horse If I didn't let it learn enough it did not properly work the Kanthal in TC mode. Juice warning kept flashing. Then I saw in the manual if the Juice warning keeps flashing in TC mode it did not learn enough. Went back and took some more vapes in watts mode then went back to TC mode and it worked fine.

have to let it learn enough for kanthal, only take several puffs as usual on watt mode.
if not enought learning for Asolo, juice warning keep flash.
here is the reason:
for example, the tank best temperature is 245℃, it may need to take a puff for 5 second. but you only take puff for 2 second. at this time, the coil temperature may only 180℃.
after enter the TC mod, when you take a puff for 3 second, the temperature may reach 200℃, and Asolo will keep the juice warning flash. because when you let the Asolo learn the taste only for 2 second, it will take 180℃ as your favorite taste. when it reach 200℃,,it already pass 180℃, at this time, even the temperatue is not high, even the e-liquid is enough. it keep juice flash.
at this time, the only way to make it work for you, will need to quit TC mode, and go into watt mode to learn again.

Pretty sure they were supposed to get like 10 million likes first
10 million seriously! That will never happen so it is like pimping your product knowing you will not have to give any away.
