Here's an any-wire TC technology I'm more inclined to believe: the Innokin iTC mod and iSub TC dedicated tank:

There's a discussion on another forum that makes it fairly clear that the iSub TC tank has extra connectors and a separate temp sensor. In other words, you can't do kanthal TC with any old generic 510 atty, which is what makes it believable.
