Lets revisit that statement after the Sep 19th vote count (wink)
yKfXb4C.gif
i forgot it's the 19th. not long now. i'll still vape, stealth. you know, with all this ranting to prove buying a clone is naughty i'm still gonna go out and buy a clone. and i doubt with all the expert knowledge that's been spurted out if anyone has decided 'nope, i was gonna buy one but not now. better not buy a clone then.' With the insults used to argue against cloning, it just strengths the case for cloning. nobody ever changed their mind or respected the voice of a headstrong abusive tone.

like your dancing banana btw

What keeps me from being DEEPLY offended you ask? I'm not Greek!!!!

Got word from a few vendors at ECC. They WERE NOT told before paying for their tables. It was a last minute email. One told me they didnt even know about it until they listened to Dimitri's Radio show.

I am hearing much the same thing from the guys I know out there. Personally I don't even think the problem is that they decided to ban clones, the issue is that they made the decision the day before booth setup after the vendors were already there, and long after they paid. Thats a huge issue IMO.

I'm going to have call bullshit on this one, Twisted did a review on the Authentic Manhattan and FUhattan and Clone the FUhattan had less of a voltage drop and performed better than the authentic. Go watch his youtube video for your self bro.......

Considering the FUhattan is supposed to be the authentic that was left in China. And how did he test voltage drop on a closed mod? A voltmeter on top of the mod does not test true voltage drop.... Perhaps he was biased because he was involved.

I however am not biased. And found the authentic to perform better even though the FU was barely worse. But it was subject. could have been the particular mods I got of each.

I also see the industry moving to more box mods - which is going to hurt the whole tube "modders' market.
Box mods are effective, cheap to build, and they are ALL clones.

I think you are right Joe, at least with regard to the enthusiast market.

I agree with you there he was using an inline volt meter....So you have to take it with a grain of salt.......;)

FWIW, the $15 Smok Omnitester can indeed test vDrop. It has connectors for both atty and mod and you can vape while they are connected.

Inline voltmeters are very last year... ;-)

"hate" may be a bit harsh. we can disagree without abhorrence,

i think it's great that we are allowed to have such discussions here. they were always prematurely curtailed by over-zealous moderators at the other place.

Oh well.. Just keep on posting threads like this I guess. I just don't get it. It would be fine for a member to start, but I wouldn't think the gods would have.

On second thought, that makes perfect sense, and explains all the sunglasses spam in the facebook groups! Mystery solved! *giggles*

Personally I have no hate for anyone involved in the discussions. I did get some great laughs, TygerTyger! However I am appalled and depressed as my favorite pair of sunglasses seem to have gone missing. Last I seen of them they were hanging off Whiskey's shirt!
Please NO sunglasses spam only sunglasses porn!

All this fuss over some scrap metal with batteries inside... sheesh!

There's more important things in life. Go give someone a hug, buy someone a meal, or go donate some blood/plasma.

Fuckin people's priorities and perspectives are screwed. Why do we even care what is an origional or a clone? And why the hell should anyone spend a second wasting time on it? We have a finite time on this earth and to spend it debating metal poles is ludicrous.

Sorry, but to me all this is a big heaping pile of donkey shit. None of it matters to enriching others lives. Move on. Im astonished at what people make a big deal out of for no reason.

That right there is a fucking hilarious visual, thanks for that!:p

@buffaloguy: you do realize the whole vaping business revolves around the "technology" of heating a filament with a battery - i.e. kind of like the same technological level as a lightbulb, without the bulb. That's hardly worth a forum to discuss it, by your standards.

As for giving hugs, I only give hug clones, cuz they're so much cheaper. Here, have one:

"There there buffaloguy... *HUG*"

Feel better now? :)

As a avid purchaser of authentics I don't have a problem supporting those who make original works. Much like gaming, you can pirate all the PC/Console games you want but in the end, you don't support the developer. Steam sells games at a steep discount, with holiday sales etc. If you really check around you can find authentics at clone prices if you watch for sales. The Kato Hammer was being sold for 100 bux on one site, (authentic) and an Atom for 60 bux at another site. More and more designers are catching on and reducing the price for their mods like The Gentleman's Club Antigo 100 bux for his, or Colonial by Mad Industries for 100 bux as well. Most B&M around the San Antonio are sell clones for 70 bux+ CLONES! So 100 for an authentic should be a no brainer. Sure you can go to FastTech (I have) and buy a clone, but its much like a poster you have in your home, its cheap. and at the end of its life you "toss it". People who pirate games treat games much the same way, they don't care about gaming, if they could hack and cheat in the game, they would without any ethical constraints. Heck Joe, you even claimed to own an authentic Tugboat RDA, unlike Nitro who bought the clone. :p CelticFury another member of VapeTV cashed in some of his clones for the authentic The Copper by Scottua. If people want to buy clones, fine, my income level is at no risk when I buy an authentic or two, you buy what is within your price range. But to "crap over authentics" is a bit disingenuous. Many (if not all) designers of authentics hate having their stuff clones. V3tronics is the most vocal about it, but all of them don't like seeing someone buy a clone then e-mail them about spare parts or issues with a "clone" of their authentic device. Heck GP Custom (friend of Jay Kim CEO of JK Vapes) is verifying everyone to see if they have an authentic Akuma before sending out replacement firing pins. They are doing this knowing that there are MANY shops trying to pass off clones as authentics. This pisses ME off, since I've had several stores try that crap on me.

Jon Tubig (from San Antonio) makes his own box mods, yet his designs on are being copied by another area vaper store. I asked him if it ticks him off, he said it does, but plans on making his box mods harder to clone, since he is trying to make it a business and not just a side hobby. Once you start making your own work and making your own twist on an idea then you know why some people hate clones or refuse to buy one. I do buy original works like The Gladiator by Youde, or The Seeker by EhPro, sub 50 dollar mods, but ORIGINAL. You don't need to buy a clone. there ARE options. Oh, but the clones fire better? Ha. Try a box mod.. any box mod, and you will throw that metal tube to the trash. :p All anyone really needs is a box mod, anything else in the mechanical area is just collection. And would you rather have a collection of copies or a collection of authentics? I don't think people who collect art buy posters. :p

Might want to scratch off Mt Baker Vapor, UltraMist, Longhorn, hell even PBusardo since his feelings on clones is well established. Twisted I don't think cares either way. Although, he picked up a Darang at VapeBlast 2.0, and also was looking for an authentic Colonial. Between he n Phil, I think Phil will be more honest since he did tell someone they were an idiot when someone showed him a stacked battery mod. :p I actually laughed when I heard him say that. + 1 for Phil!

As for my area of Texas, they seem to gravitate towards clones, but I believe they do so because of a lack of options. If the stores started selling original idea mods, like I mentioned, they may find more of a turn on to legit devices than carbon copies. Any store who just deals with authentics has to have an online site, if not they ARE history. B&M survive on clones. I understand that. Talked to several shop owners and they all say the same, clones DO DRIVE their business, I just wish there was more of an alternative in place by Chinese manufacturers. The Fuhattan is what I would call an "original mod" since it doesn't use the same engraving and has a fun box, not to mention poking fun at Chinese cloners! :D

If your getting paid to give blood [plasma] its not donating its selling. Donating Blood is when you give [For Free] your blood to The Red Cross bloodmobile or the likes

Listen, the last authentic I had was the original MVP and a Protank 2. I've constantly been searching for the best possible vape, which has kept me off of the cancer sticks for over a year. I would love to be able to drop $200+ per mod and $100+ per RDA, but I have a family and a new home. Ain't gonna happen.

Clones win for me and probably always will. The idea that I have an attainable new shiny out there also keeps me hooked on vaping as well. Besides, Infinite just put out the CLT, which retails for under $40, not to mention the Vulcan, which can be had for $60. Both of these RDA's have innovative features and the company's producing them will make a profit, so charging four or five times more in the name of credit and compensation is just greedy, plain and simple.

No Im completely oblivious how they work.... lol.

My point was that there are better things to do and bickering about this nonsense is not productive for anyone. Pepsi is a clone of coke. You can buy either or both. It doesnt matter.

There are real problems out there in the world and this aint one.

Thanks for the hug tho. Im out!

I just got back it was great and by the way tons of clones.

no surprise there. did anyone really think all the clone vendors would just pack up and leave, after plopping down good money for a booth? not bloody likely.

A knockoff, is a clone.
A Clone is something that is near the same, made the same way, but not the OEM.
A replica as currently being used, is a counterfeit.
A Counterfeit, is made to look the same, using the same branding, and often, duplicates the packaging so it can be sold as the real thing.

Counterfieits, suck, because are sold as the real deal, and often suck. They screw up resell values.

Lots of people are calling Counterfeits as Clones. Its not true. A Clone of a PC, did not use the IBM brand. It just had the same guts. No problem.
Nobody ever was as good as the original IBM clicky keyboards, EVER. Some things are never easily duplicated.

A no name clone is fine. A clone with with a new brand is also fine.

Stealing the design of the shape of a RBA is going to happen, but they should not also put on the exact same image Tug Boat, and serial number. (no little R or TM on the Tug Boat image, yah I get it, they can not be sued, that is not my point)

They should just put on a picture of a different tug boat, or not use the Authentic's brand name.

Anyone who wants to own clones, should not have any issue with keeping the brand name off, keeping the trademarks off, and not copying the packaging to look like an original, and selling them out on Ebay as originals.

The FUhatten is a perfect example, its a clone, but its not a counterfeit. Its their own branding. Fair game.
