Can I trust Fasttech when they say something is authentic?

A while ago I got some Ijust 2 heads from them since they are much cheaper than anywhere else. They were labeled as authentic, but when I received them the security code was cut off. I then tried the heads and they were not good at all compared to authentics of the same resistance I've gotten other places. They were .5 ohms just like the same heads I've gotten elsewhere, but they took forever to heat up and would get a burnt taste within a day as opposed to a week.

I complained to Fasttech and they kept insisting that the heads were authentic, and they just have to take away the security code for some reason in order to sell them for cheap. This seems like a scam to me. After a ridiculous two weeks of daily emails arguing back and forth and sending videos of the heads not performing, they finally gave me in store credit for what I paid for them.

This doesn't seem right to me. They can't call something authentic unless they have proof. Do you think Fasttech is a scam, or do they actually sell authentic parts when they say so?

If cloning is a problem, then wouldn't they stay out of trouble by providing security numbers as proof?

They never put in print that a item is Genuine! That being said a item is a authentic clone.

Im a fan of fasttech myself and from my understanding is they have to sell authentic products without the code so they can sell under msrp. (thats the price they agree to sell with manufatures) If they dont take the code off they can be sued for breach of contract. Clones=styled authentic is the real thing

so they are admitting to a clone there also then
Seems true, again you have to understand they use every tactic to sell their merchandise, so play on words, I believe Smok came out publicly and said that they do not sell to Fast Tech, I'm trying to find the blog, anyway one of the large online retailers had a open blog about Fast Tech, it seems his customers were trying to either get warranty or return products they got at FS, so one day he had the Smok rep in his office and asked the guy. That's when the Smok rep told him no they do not sell to FS and Smok put it in writing. Anyway I have read about many Suits against FS.

you also have to understand that FT does NOT always buy directly from the OEM manufacturer either,,there are these things that are very common in asia called re-sellers , we call them middle men

ANY coils I have bought from FT, never worked right like the coils I'd buy in a B&M store. None of them.

Anything else has been fine. I'll just never buy coils from them anymore. I don't know if they are just seconds or they are clones, but any I bought were shit.

What specific heads have you purchased there?

Kanger OCC .5 ohm heads.
I also bought some Kanger dual coils.
Neither worked like the ones purchased at B&M's.

Were they labeled as authentic kanger? And did they come with half of a serial sticker?

If it says authentic at Fasttech, it's the real deal. I've bought from them for years. They have really stepped up delivery times and customer service over the past year or so.

ETA: Manufacturers will deny selling to FT because they (FT) sell their (the Mfg) merchandise below MAP. Innokin has long been one to make such a claim and it sounds like SMOK is doing the same.

I should probably add that I owe FT no allegiance, I'm merely an experienced retail customer.

Hey, skiball!

And yeah, ej ... clones get cloned. Authentics (if you'll pardon the redundancy) can be authenticated. In the case of those with verification codes which may be checked online, you won't get the message, "This code has been verified 3,453 times." At least not in the case where FT claims authenticity.

Y'know, it feels a little odd to be speaking positively about this Chinese retailer. This was not always the case with them but they've really been doing a decent job recently. I wouldn't have said the same a few years ago. Hell, I wouldn't have dared; I woulda been fried in the flames if I'd made such a statement. ;)

You can't check serial numbers because they remove them.

This has come up several times on the FT forum. They only remove serial numbers from authentics when they're violating the minimum selling price set by the authentic manufacturers, In doing so, the builders have no recourse and we get to keep getting real stuff for less than Manufacturers Suggested Retail Prices.

Think about it ... there's no reason to remove serials from clones ....

Reminder: I play on your team, not theirs. ;)

I'm also ft customers, when they say "authentic" it's the real deal if not then they'll say "xxx-styled" then you know it's a clone. Oh, BTW, isn't ft from Singapore, not China?
