I'd have to head to Walmart or the grocery store and get a small bottle of store brand. I have a freezer full of the grocery store variety and it's actually good stuff. ;)
Walmart's too far away (bad part about living in the city) - I can usually find decent VG at CVS or health food stores, but the three places I went to were out, so ended up breaking down and ordering some. :( Sucks being poor. I used to vape 80%+ PG all the time, now I'm wondering how I ever managed to do that. Luckily I just found a stash of Root Beer Float that I had hidden away and forgotten about, so hopefully it'll just be a day or two that I'll be out of VG.

I grab the VG every time I'm at the grocery. Grabbed a gallon of pg at Tractor Supply today. I'm good for a day or few.....lol!
Yeah, I think I've had the same gallon of PG from TS for about 3 years now! :D Good thing too, cuz TS is HELLA far!
Limited local availability of VG around here. Even at chain stores that carry it (like Whole Foods), not all of their stores do, so I end up driving around like an idiot looking for it. :p

If I could just chime in on the potato chip thing for a moment... peanut butter and jelly? HELLO? Am I the only one that's been putting crushed-up potato chips on a PB&J since forever?
My sister got me hooked on potato chips and bananas for awhile. :p It's all about that whole "sweet and salty" thang.

Frito Lay Dill Pickle Potato Chips ... yum!

And yes, I'd definitely vape that! :D

I've been trying to create a recipe like it for a while now but no luck so far. :(

I'm not going near that vape lol! Real biscuits and gravy, sure - but not in a vape. I'm reminded of this flavoring: http://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/p-7639-chicken-and-waffle-flavor.aspx?keyword=chicken . Blahhhhrrggh! @KeyserSoze I nominate you to try that one. Wllmc's adventurous that way, even tried FA's roasted chicken kitchen flavor, with predictable results. lol

I am honored to be nominated! I just placed a couple orders but I'll pick that one up soon. I'll do my first ever vape video for the initial tasting, how's that?

I know about @wllmc and his roasted chicken adventure. I think he's gone soft though. Won't even acknowledge how awesome biscuits and gravy would be. I think he's scared. :D

Ok guys, I finished up the old fashioned recipe for my buddy. FA whisky is definitely not a bourbon, but my buddy was ok with me taking it more fruity and sweeter than the real drink to cover that up. Comes in at 12% flavoring if you count sweetener which is one of the highest percentages I have ever made, but I found the whisky really needed a high percentage with a little oak and vanilla to even resemble a bourbon. Still trying to settle on a name but its down to Draper Vapor, Draper's Vapor or Draper's Vapors. I am leaning toward Draper's Vapors.

Draper's Vapors
Whisky 6%
Cherry 2%
Orange 2%
Oak .5%
Vanilla Bourbon .5%
Bergamot .5% (optional)

Sweetener 1%

All FA, haven't noticed much difference with steeping but I'd imagine some of those ingredients might change in some way over time. I just worked up the recipe this week.

Good god man. I'm an alcoholic and even 2% Whisky has me reaching for a chaser. I've not played with its steep though. HIC says it tames a lot with a little time. Looks good! I don't remember the progression, did you try a little Black Cherry with the Cherry? I've messed around with those two and I like them better together than I do separately. Just a thought from a noob/DIY failure.

@HeadInClouds I hadn't placed one of my orders yet! I forgot that I left that tab open waiting for that inevitable next flavor I'd wish I had ordered. BOOOOOOOMMMMMM

I bet I'll like it more than FA Grape Concord!!!

Well you certainly can't get more cinnamon without adding anything. I bet you'll get about a dozen votes for FA Cinnamon Ceylon. Here's vote #1.

NICE. Those orders are awesome. I can't tell you how many flavors I have that I would never have thought about eating, let alone vaping. Some of them are my favorite flavors too.

ETA - If you're heading down the FA wormhole and have any interest in bakery flavors, you HAVE to get Cinnamon Ceylon. If you don't, a small gang of us will come through in the night and steal all your DIY stuffs.

Hmm, I ordered a fresh bottle just for this recipe. I didn't find it very strong. I was mixing with orange and cherry from the start, but I found the whisky to taste like a very watered down scotch rather than a bourbon so I added a bit of oak and vanilla and kept raising it until I thought it at least reminded me a bit of bourbon. After I worked from 3% up to 6% I decided it was never going to get me near a realistic bourbon so I checked in with my buddy and we decided to up the fruit and sweetness to go for more of a candy version of an old fashioned. It's pretty tasty, certainly not an overwhelming alcohol flavor. I actually came away from the experience thinking FA whisky was pretty weak tasting.

I didn't try any black cherry. I never thought an old fashioned had that darker cherry flavor I associate with like cherry coke. I did play around with Mandarin, but ended up preferring just straight orange and cherry.

Haha nice to know its that highly rated.
I just liked the apple danish i had going using "other" flavors but they had the bad (good) stuff in em. So I'm looking to make a better attempt at apple pie like my gma used to serve before her stroke. it was always yellow and red apples with a touch of honey and cinnamon in the pie and some fresh peaches from the peach tree outback sliced over top of it

Weird. Maybe it was because I only mixed it with Cola that it seemed so damn strong. I did 3% Cola and 1% Whisky and it was like the after effects of snorting a shot. Very accurate Whisky flavor though.

I'm no Cherry connoisseur and honestly have had maybe one Old Fashioned ever so I was definitely just throwing things out there.

I'm guessing it must just come across differently when it mixes with these different flavors. What kind of whisky does it taste like to you?

Damn. That sounds good man. I personally think its a wonderful thing to immortalize her pie in a DIY recipe. I know about as much about Cinnamon as I do Cherry but, from what I've read and experienced, FA Cinnamon Ceylon is a great bakery style cinnamon.

Also, I'm jealous that I didn't think of that user name first.

I'm also not a Whisky connoisseur (tequila is my poison) but to me it takes like a Tennessee oddly enough. Could be Irish... I'd have to sit down with some Jameson's and Jack side by side to make sure.

Ehh the first choice of name was taken so this works.

My gmas 83 years old and the woman could still kick my ass from her hospital bed. The least i can do is make the pie a juice for everyone to enjoy:)

Is bullcityvapor not selling nic anymore? It's not on their site..

Unfortunately my state's revenue-driven legislators recently passed a law imposing a $.05 "sin tax" per ml of nicotine liquid. They call it a "modest" tax, but what it is in actuality is an open door to increase the sin tax exponentially over time. Reynolds is starting to pull strings from their Dark Fortress in Winston-Salem. I fear the mother of all battles for DIY vapers' rights will eventually happen in my back yard. Come help us fight when it's time, else we'll all be stuck with Reynolds' pre-filled cartos and cigalikes when the dust settles.

I'm not sure how RTS continues to sell nic base out of Charlotte at competitive prices, though. Maybe it ships from elsewhere, who knows. I haven't ordered base from them in a while.

Oh, I don't get that at all. To me, it's almost like a white liquor flavor with a background of peat and maybe a little oak. None of that sour mash flavor that I get from bourbon. At high percentage I got a little sour, but not really like that corn mash kind of sour. If my taste is off from most it wouldn't be the first time.

Edit: Please, if anyone has the components I would love some help or any input. I went to art school so criticism doesn't bother me at all.

Anybody ordered from Purevapes lately? I placed and order 8 days ago and have not received it yet. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry so, its not a big deal. Just wanted to know if something's wrong because, in the past I received my orders pretty quick.

That's a great feeling. I remember the first time that happened to me. I sat there like wtf I can just go make this right now...? I do a victory dance if I'm only one ingredient short on a HIC mix.

@RyGon, I know you only use FA, but TFA Kentucky Bourbon is dead on. Just DEAD ON.

@itsmenotyou, I'll give vote #2 for Cinnamon Ceylon. I'm surprised we didn't kick your ass already for not having that one. o_O

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if I really support FA that much or am I just a sadist.

BTW, anyone's strawberry ever go bad on them? I have had this same little sample bottle since the beginning and I have never liked it. It has always tasted very strong and comes across rotten to me. I just used 1% in a recipe I bought from HIC and its really overwhelming and has this earthy taste like a mushy old strawberry.

I use 4% strawberry and it gets lost easily... You need to bring all your stuff to NC and have a epic tasting session with me. Sounds like you have the palette that I'm missing and I have alternate bottles of flavorings you're missing. We'll make a hell of a team. :)

Hah, I was just down in East Tennessee a couple weeks ago. I could have stopped off at Cherokee on my way over to you. ;)

But I really think my little Pure Vapes sample was bad from the beginning. I wish I could go into details, but I am enjoying messing with some of the extra tips in HICs Sweet Watermelon Juice recipe, but I think I need some fresh bottles of some of these flavors.

Well, crap. Was looking forward to mixing up some of HIC's Lemon Pudding Cake tonight until someone decided to put the front of their Nissan Murano into the trunk of my Mazda. Not such a great fit, even with my back seats folded down. So I don't trust my hands around syringes tonight.

Most importantly everyone's okay, but her vehicle fared much better than mine (very robust front-end on that Murano, I must say!). This is only my second accident in almost 30 years of LOTS of driving. Well, technically, I guess it wasn't my accident because I was just sitting there minding my own freaking business.

And I have the most bright candy apple REDDISH RED-DIDDILY RED car on the highway! Anyone who can't see me shouldn't be licensed to drive.

I did find out that I can pick up my future FA orders in person at BCV, so there's a ray of sunshine. I won't be fitting any boxes full of flavors in the trunk for a while, though.

She seemed like a nice lady, I sorta felt bad for her even though she demolished 1/3 of my car. Nothing quite like that awkward moment after you pull to the shoulder with your flashers on and get out, and then just kinda look at each other in a daze before asking "Are you okay?" at almost the exact same moment.

And then, "Well, let's see. I don't exactly have the Highway Patrol in my contact list. Who do we call? 911? But we're okay, right? No emergencies here. Hm. Let me call my girlfriend, she's wrecked plenty of cars. She'll know what to do."

911 works just fine, BTW. :D

I ordered from them a few times, but found them very slow to ship so I went elsewhere on later orders. I was never in a huge hurry but just felt like a week to ship wasn't the customer service I expected. Hope you get yours soon.

Hi. I have been on VU a good few months now and would just like to say I love it here. There's a wealth of information and a lot of help and most are so friendly. I tend to just look around really ( not much of a talker tbh) but looking at a few threads I have been so inspired by what can be done. Iv just put in my first order with FA for 30 flavours and can't wait to start to Diy my own liquid. The credit card suddenly needs to be put away for the month with all the other vaping stuff I have been ordering to lol.
