What'd I do?↑
A lot of smokers are still waiting for these studies before making the switch but many will be dead before they find out.(posted by Ray)
(you posted) While this is most likely true, it doesn't really bother me. People who make risky health decisions, as it is, should be able to make another one and live with it. That's how I see it. You're already a smoker, and you know the risks. If you want to switch, but don't know the risks, and prefer to know the risks before jumping into it, just keep smoking.
Replace the with word smoking with vaping on your above comment and it looks pretty darned hypocritical to me
Nothing at all was quoting his and your post
Great post..I can remember when 5 volts was considred crazy talk.....I remeber being on a forum and they were bashing some guy for vaping a 1.5 coil at 5 volt....I agree these teenybopper cloud chasers are going to be fodder for the state to use as an excuse to highjack the industry...for the children once againAs someone who's been vaping since 2011 and used to smoke up to 2 packs a day, I can tell you I feel better. I used to get up every night coughing and if I got a cold it took weeks for my chest to clear up. I don't have that anymore.
With that said, I don't necessarily think vaping is safe. Healthier than cigs, probably, but not completely safe. It's not the vg and pg that I worry about. In fact it's not even the nic.. Pg and vg are in many products we inhale and have been deemed by fda as safe, asthma inhales for one and nicotine is nothing more than a stimulant like caffeine. What concerns me are the flavorings. These food flavoring were designed and approved for eating, not inhaling. We don't know what they do to our lungs.
The real problem I have with vaping is the high wattage, sub ohm stuff going on. Too many people are interested in giant clouds and entering cloud competitions. These competitions are going to lead to problems. It has encouraged people to build bigger, more powerful mods and use lower and lower sub ohm coils. There's a safety issue here and mark my words, we're going to see more and more battery explosions as this continues. That's going to bring more attention to vaping and not the good kind. All that publicity is going to encourage more regulation.
To top it off, these competitions and the culture in general are attracting non smokers and I'm seeing more and more non smokers pick up vaping for the "culture", to look cool or because it tastes good. This too is bringing more regulation.
When I started vaping, 5-6 watts was more than enough to get u off cigs and 8-12 watts was insane. If you vaped more than 2-3 ml a day, you were considered a chain vaper and for all you who think that's not much, back then, devices didn't go through that much juice. Heck, 6mg cig-a-likes got me off tobacco cigarettes and I only used 1-2 cartos a day. Now people are vaping 15-30ml a day like its nothing and they're doing it as such extreme temperatures that the vg and pg are putting off carbonals like formaldehyde.
We need to stop that nonsense. IMHO there is no reason to be vaping 60, 70 or 100 watts, let alone 150watts. And please, don't encourage or endorse non smokers to vape. I believe it's safer than cigarettes, but it's safer to not vape at all. And please don't say it's ok if you are using 0 nic because it not. Nicotine is nothing more that a stimulant like caffeine, the problem is the flavorings.
That concludes my rant, let the bashing begin

You guys really take the cake at either being dicks, or forcing me to take the piss out of this situation. This is fucking funny to me... I hope you guys get that.
Whatever. If all the "serious" talkers on here want me to basically make a political speech, lay out a ten step program for regulations, and find a way to overcome the government conspiracy (that I barely even believe to begin with), you're asking the wrong guy. I ask questions and make valid points; and in return, I get people talking shit like I'm trying to fix everything. I guess I've settled on laughing while crying. Yeah, that's a good middle ground for me.
This kind of response is pathetic at best. Fuck this thread. I won't even continue reading anything here. This has been entirely derailed, and the majority of the responses are from hotheads who took everything way too personally. This is no longer a discussion. Even I've stooped low in previous posts... this is just antics at this point, trying to win over a crowd with your buddies. I thought I left grade school years ago?
I knew this would happen... I just thought maybe I was wrong. I should have listened to myself.

Yeah, I remember when the norm was 2.8-3.2ohm coils and if you really want to push the limits, you dropped to a 2.0-2.5ohm. People bought ego twists and provaris and if you ventured past 4.0v, you were insane. No one even thought about going below 2.0 ohms, even with dual coil

and...... if it was like that then.. imagine what we could be doing, in the next 10 yrs?
nooo please do not say "Regulated Vaping" even tho with some like I wont mention..
trying like hell to keep us in the nanny state of mind.
they want to step in no matter what, even if we were a perfect industry in the eyes of the government they would still want to step in "to make sure we stay perfect and protect the children". doesnt matter what we doPlease don't misunderstand me, I don't want the government regulating how or what we vape. I'm simply saying that because if we, as a community, keep pushing the limits and going to lower and lower ohm builds and more and more watts, bad things are going to happen (like battery explosions and carbonals), we are going to attract more attention of the government. That's going to bring regulation in and it will get to the point where our choice is cigalikes and spinners.
We need to do away with things like cloud competitions. These kind of things are bad for vaping as a whole. The more we glorify vaping, the more the government is going to want to step in. Especially because the glorification of vaping is attracting teenagers and people in their early 20's who never smoked.

I work in one of those swanky places now. I'm a cook by trade myself.Ummmm.... I spent 23 years as a chef; most of that time on some swanky places. I assure you, you do want your juice mixing done in more sanitary conditions. MUCH MORE SANITARY.
I've seen rabbit, butchered on the same board as chicken.
Chicken stored in a walk in above beef.
And a slew of other issues.
Maybe rent the movie "waiting." What goes on in that kitchen, while funny as hell, does actually happen. (do people still rent movies?)
Then ask yourself if you want "the goat" done just before someone mixes some juice.
Way back in the day 20s or 30s George Orwell wrote a book called "down and out in london and paris" about being dead broke one summer in london and paris, and getting hired by temp companies to work in the kitchens of high end restaraunts in Paris....he wrote about how filthy all the kitchen of the 5 star eateries were.I work in one of those swanky places now. I'm a cook by trade myself.
Let me rephrase, the way a restaurant SHOULD be ran.
I too have seen some unbelievable things. Like shrimp cooked it hot water with a dirty mop drained over it.
Not saying you are, @Mroutlaw
I do agree we as a group of people that do enjoy vaping, need to step things up and pay attention to what "we each are doing and allowing" and it is going to take only one person, and the media and all the abc government agencies will be more watchful.
I can not say we need to do away with clouds comps tho.. i wont go there.. no! I would like to see more actually.. that events and shops show and teach safe vaping.. that reward those that can show safety first. Why not start a new trend at YOUR local b&m doing just that?
Rather than wait for an accident and we get "Nanny Gov" telling us no..
In the end, its those that do nothing, non supportive, non helpful.. that will kill it all for us..
sometimes we all do have to become our brothers keeper.. in order to keep GOV from doing it, permanently..
They have no interest in protecting anyone, be it children, adults, you, me, or Joe Blow down the street. If they did, GMO's and Monsanto wouldn't be issues, among many other things. It's all about money and control. Very communistic attitude for a "free" country, in my opinion.

So the fat will continue to get fatter and they will continue to thin the population AND collect big on the mandatory "affordable" health care.Completely agree. I'm all for putting age restrictions on it, although it doesnt really help because of all the online sale, but the rest is all about the money that the government is losing in taxes and the money that big tobacco is losing in sales. Thats why most of the proposed legislation is just taxing everything, including hardware. THey want to make sure that even if you go to 0 nic, you will pay taxes.
As I said earlier, if they tax it, it may not be cost efficient to vape instead of smoking and alot of people will go back to cigs.
They'll take care of whatever they WANT to take care of, as usual.Well, you need to get a hold of some atties you like, maybe buy a bunch of clones if you don't have alot of cash. You can build a great mech mod from parts at the local hardwre store..Pg and Vg are easy to get.......the nut will be nicotine.....and when they start controling that..I will personally smuggel it in from Mexico.if they can't control the flow of drugs ans ISISand 30million aliens across the border, they have no hope of controling the smuggeling of nic base.

Would love to know more about that...not in here, this is not the place. But my biggest part of scorn for evolv is they knew it wasn't ready for show time; yet, still neglected to give it user upgradeability.I think there's one thing we can all agree on- there will be restrictive legislation and taxation on vaping, likely sooner rather than later. It's just a matter of time, and you can bet your last drip tip that there are government lawyers hard at it as we speak.
Supposedly the reason for rushing the DNA 40 TP device to market was to circumvent some sort of pending or inevitable legislation having to do with vaping safety. I wasn't able to find out exactly what this legislation was, whether it was on the state or federal level or if the story was even true or just a smokescreen to cover the shortcomings of the early run of DNA 40 boards. But the point is, when this first broke no one seemed surprised by the idea of lawmakers mucking around w/vapers and vaping in general.
tru dat...everything that is happening is because they want it that way. They'll take care of whatever they WANT to take care of, as usual.

I'm down to 6mg from my original 30, so hoping to be nic free by the time Vape Y2K hits. Still stashing it in the freezer every payday though....if I'm off it by then, someone else can use it. Got a couple shoeboxes packed with atties and tanks. It's a shame it has to come to this.Im way ahead of you. Been doing that since we figured out how to re build a vivi nova. I have 3 kayfun v4, a Kanger Subtank Mini, and at least 10 different rda not to mention my old Kayfun and Russian 91. Im set for mods too. a provari p3, sx mini m, hana v4d and a VS RDNA40.
All i need to keep me going is cotton, wire, batteries and then pg and vg. With the exception of batteries, the rest will always be available. If I cant get nic, I'll just switch to 0 nic. For me, its more of the habbit than the nicotine at this point. I quit cigs using 6mg and about 4.5-5 watts and I'm using 3 - 6 mg at 12-15 watts now
Would love to know more about that...not in here, this is not the place. But my biggest part of scorn for evolv is they knew it wasn't ready for show time; yet, still neglected to give it user upgradeability.
all that and not a decent atty in the whole bunch...get a genny.Im way ahead of you. Been doing that since we figured out how to re build a vivi nova. Well big fucking bully for you. that other comment no one needs 150 watts.. it has earned you a giant go fuck your self sideways. What worked for you does not work for everyone else and that short sighted shit makes you one of vapings' own worst enemies. All i need to keep me going is cotton, wire, batteries and then pg and vg. thats what im doingIt won't go bad in the freezer, you'll get a lot of mileage out of it.

Seriously go back to ecf if you cannot wrap your mind around that.
Good you're vaping and not smoking but your short sighted views on what works for you should work for others.. if that is the case then toodle the fuck back to ECF. But outside of that I could give a flipping shit if you cram a 500 gigawatt .000001 topped device up your own ass with 95 mg of nic.
Briefly, IIRC it was mentioned on a P Busardo video, when he had an Evolv honcho on w/him. If you'd like I'll PM you w/details if/when I come across them.Would love to know more about that...not in here, this is not the place. But my biggest part of scorn for evolv is they knew it wasn't ready for show time; yet, still neglected to give it user upgradeability.
Things other than be on the comp yo.I missed you @BigNasty where have you been the last couple weeks?
Rayne.. you should really take a bigger look and think on what you are typing. For real! Instead of yelling for regulations.. why not advocate for testing and research? HUH?? <<I would love to see a response from you on this. period. You say: "This is fucking funny to me... I hope you guys get that.".
By coming up in here, with your first thread.. and the responses you are getting.. it's "fucking funny"? my my..
Second.. this is a very tame thread. No one is jumping YOU.. but for the fact, every single post you keep making, leans to regulations.. and to most, including me, regulations means someone to stand over us, to limit us, to tax us, and to prohibit.. to tell us all what to do and how. What would be "allowed" and what wouldn't be. You want to live like that? I don't.
I havent seen anyone "talk shit" to or about you.... yet.. however.. my turn to say something, again.
I want better for us all, and watching from the side lines and helping in any way I can, towards better understanding.. will help more in the long run. As it is.. the states themselves are seeing what kind of money floats in this ""INDUSTRY"".. and to me, that is the wrong wording.. but it is what it is too.. If you have ever seen my friends from CASAA, SFATA TVM AVA and even AESMA speak.. you might learn a bit from them. Otherwise most here will take it, you work for the government depend on that government paycheck, and want to see this as prohibited. Why, why do you want regs to come down, have you lost someone to vaping, has vaping hurt you in any way? <answer this too.
but no one here yet has said anything cross to you, or jumped on you.. for if they did, you'd really know it and wouldn't behave like you are right now with the self righteous crap of
or maybe you should go buddy up to the FDA CDC and any other abc organization that will help you in your quest to kill off vaping as we all know it. You might fit in there right well.
will wait on your response.. Are you brave enough to explain yourself and your thoughts?
Fuck me you snivel and bitch more than I have seen in a while. One last post on this bullshit derailed thread... because this one wins the lottery of not reading anything I've posted.
First off... This isn't my first thread. This is just the first one with anyone actually responding to it. Second. I'm not the one who needs to "take a bigger look" because there's very few people who've actually read anything I've written, and actually digested it before getting riled up and telling me how wrong I am. If you're implying I take a look at something else (like implying that I'm wrong in my stance, and I need to consider that), then you are definitely more passive aggressive than I am. Hats off.
Third. This is tame, but it's still a childish riot over the lamest disagreement I've ever seen on a forum; hands down, the dumbest shit I've seen to have caused a such a chaos when there was actually some value originally in it. And the only time I ever mention regulations is for getting scientific facts out, and knowing products are somewhat safer for very obvious reasons. I'm stating something, and not pushing an opinion... It's a well known fact that properly regulated industries produce more consistent products; which in turn means healthier products (like food, water, or in our case vaping supplies). That is not to be confused with loosely regulated industries, which is all anyone here seems to think is considered 'proper'... for some stupid reason.
Fourth. The personal interpretation of what regulations are (as a definition) should NOT be interrupting a debate over facts. When it is said that regulations would help benefit vapers by providing a better means of scientific facts, the emotional debate over regulations is a completely different topic... yet many people here seem to think that it's 100% related, and now I'm trying to control vaping... which is bone headed at the least. Sure, some have "asked" about what kind of regulations I'd throw in; but none of them were actually poised in a way that said, "I'm actually interested, and not looking for any reason to shoot it down and passive aggressively call you an idiot."
Fifth. My self righteous attitude is a mockery of you. Only someone who is on a high horse wouldn't see that. Get off yours.
Sixth. To think I want regulations because of any other reason than what I fucking stated is to assume my intentions aren't pure. The only reason I want to see some sort of regulation is because a lack of proper regulation leads to disastrous consequences. Would you prefer we let the entire medical industry go unregulated? You do realise there's a large amount of regulation there, right? If you're so against regulations, do you actually even want your hospitals to have a health and safety code? Where do you really want to draw a line here on regulations? My intentions are pure. I want regulations simply because it makes risks management easier, the science stays much more relevant, and new users can make informed decisions. I don't need someone to die from vaping, or need personal injury from vaping, to feel we need some regulation... just something basic, that many people forget about. Logic. And to answer those questions, no. Happy yet?
Seventh. My response is simply a means of explaining the simple fact that you really have no idea what I've been saying. Each time I make a point, a group of people feel like giving some knee-jerk reaction to what I say, and don't actually take into account that there might be some merit to dropping the fucking pro-vape train, and standing entirely on the sideline for a minute. Forget whether you vape, and what it's done for you. If you can't be an objective person, your opinion on a topic is pretty narrow-minded. The more I insert objectivity, and ask more questions, the snarkier the remarks, or the more it becomes subjective... which I've been saying we need to get rid of... since the first post.
Eight. I'm officially finished with this post. Done. Feel free to make another "are you brave enough" post, but I just don't care if you guys actually have anything worth saying now. I don't need to hear about how corrupt the government is, and why I need to let go of my side on regulations (or be told I need to explain it). If I wanted that shit, I'd go on a conspiracy theorist forum. Not to mention, I also am not asking anyone to do anything... outside of professing opinions as facts. I guess that is way too much to ask people in the 21st century. What a fucking depressing thing this thread has become. If this is the mentality of the users here, I obviously fucked up when choosing a forum to join.
Fuck this. I'm out. Peace. Enjoy your know-it-all attitudes. I just wanted a little more honesty in the community... fucking hell.
