All I heard last night from Twisted was that an app maker wanted Rip to endorse their product and Rip asked for 2 percent equity in the app....I dont necessarily think that if that is the case it amounts to being paid off for reviews, but if its true, and that's all Twisted actually said he did, then Im not sure that there are any actual grounds for suing Twisted for making what is essentially a true statement...I will say though that framing the narrative into Rip being somehow dishonest for doing that would be at best over the top and at worst an ignorant statement...at any rate, this is all nothing but conjecture until we see if there is actually a smoking gun out there to yet be revealed...All I have seen for "proof" at this point, is a deal that Rip was hashing out with an App maker. I don't know what they wanted from him. It could have been to use his image, his phrases, or whatever. It certainly seems like they wanted him to promote the app.
At this point he has done NO promoting of the app. So, he can't be hung over the fact he's promoting something for pay, that he isn't at this point.
The thing we are all inferring from this, from what others are pushing at, is that Rip has been asking for paid reviews.
So at this point, unless Twisted has SOMETHING to show us, this is looking like a smear campaign. And IF that is the case, this IS grounds for defamation lawsuits.
