The procedure Cloupor is instructing people to test whether or not they have a faulty device, is dangerous in it of itself.

View attachment 13565

If it burns all the skin off your hand while testing it, you must have a bad device. Sure why not?
Best way to tell if you have a bad device is to intentionally cause it to catch fire? Gotta hand it to Cloupor, they really care about their customers.

@Zamazam LOL yeah right, way to go cloupor. Ok so I went to Planet and checked out the article and so I was thinking ok lets see if this works. Call me crazy but I went and did it. I put in a fresh battery Samsung INR 25r put one of my aerotank v2 with a 1.5 coil on it and at 20watts (juice and coil were over a week old so no problem sacrificing it). Ok so here we go I hold the fire button down for the 15 sec limit ..... what it does is it freezes for a second or so and then back to the normal screen where it shows the watts you set and the atty resistance and zeros for the voltage until you fire it and show the voltage you fired it at. So all went well not too hot message not meltdown no fire. The mod did not get hot atty did a bit but thats all . Looks ok to me I don't know about putting my .8 orchid on it though. I only vape it on my Sig 150W. My Cloupor mini is my commute to work and back and at work vape . So it doesn't get that much mileage(no pun intended).

Think about all the B&M stores that paid will never get a dime back makes me wonder how many millions cloupor made because you know the Chinese gov. will never press the issue and make cloupor pay a dime.

@wally Right so what happens now is cloupor going to honor their warranty and replace those faulty units and are they going to make the individuals handle the returns or the B&M's and other retailers. yeah its turning out to be a huge mess.

The only way you will get a dime back if the company that sold it to you gives it to you. cloupor never has replaced anything IM aware of.

You are not suppose to run two active antivirus programs... they will conflict, cause excessive slowdowns and other problems. In some cases, running two will actually make you more vulnerable. Firewalls provide no protection against a malware that comes in through a program ( like your browsers ) that is already given permission to pass through it... they only protect against intrusions and programs on your computer that were not given permission to pass IF the firewall is set to block outgoing connections that are not approved.

I use Malwarebytes and avg without confliction but would never run them at the same time.

That is actually different... Malwarebytes is an antimalware which targets mostly scamware, spyware and adware... AVG is an antivirus program. In otherwords, those two are fine to have installed although ( of course ) you will experience some performance degradation since both are monitoring the system. Both do have a little bit of cross-over on things they detect, but they aren't known to conflict with each other.

I do have issues with AVG... I don't care for it's interface anymore, they've made it harder to get at the real data on their detection's and program settings and I also don't like their toolbar and how it interferes with browsing .

One more thing... you can actually scan with them at the same time although I don't recommend it since it doesn't seem to speed things up much compared to when you scan one after the other. In addition, when I used the word "run" earlier.. I was referring to their active protection portion and not their scanning portion. You can run scans with two antivirus programs at the same time... you can not have their active protection enabled at the same time... just to clarify it a bit more.

You may want to look into the 360 products... they are free and used multiple antivirus engines built into one. They are rated in the top products but I can't remember where they stack against Kasperky off the top of my head without re-reading the reports.

For the average user... 360 Internet security with 3 av engines in one. Two are by 360 and one is from Bitdefender... http://www.360safe.com/internet-security.html

For the more advanced user... 360 Total Security with 4 av engines ( two are optional and need enabled ) as well as some cleanup and tweaking features included. Their two av engines, Bitdefender and Avira's engines http://www.360totalsecurity.com/

I have used them for years now they saved me against 2007 virus which really had me worried at the time.

Pet pieve rant...

A virus is only one type of malware... of which today we only see perhaps %1 ( if not less ) of the infections seen to actually be viral in nature. Malware is a generic term that can be used for an infection of any type ... virus isn't

rant over.... lol :D

So if a computer gets an infection that isn't a virus, more like a bacteria, then we need to get a prescription for Rambiotics:p

I can look at something closely and tell if it has Quality I wonder why some people just can't spot quality. Maybe when someone wants something bad enough they over look cheap workmanship.

Most people don't care about quality. They go for cheap and shiny.

Guilty as charged.

Although for me the whole defining line between what's quality and what's not got pretty damn blurry once i made the jump from a Provari over to box mods. Even the "best" ones that have their fanboys fevorishly defending them at every turn (*cough* Vaporshark *cough*) simply do not offer the same overall level of beyond-the-need-to-defend-the-money-one-spent assurance that you indeed get what you pay for. Generally speaking...it's all an individual crapshoot built upon a fragile foundation that sees every single mod maker rushing to push their products out asap.

I watched my friend a few weeks ago drop his clouper mini from like 5 feet on a hard tile floor. Battery door flying off on impact, pieces going everywhere. Thought for sure the thing was cooked. Picks it up and puts it all back together...still vaping like a champ today. Another girl tips her "i'm going to buy the better quality" Sigelei 100w+ (my personal fav) over on the desk a few days ago and the chip more or less took a shit on the spot. I have one friend who bought a VS and loves it. Another who's on his 3rd or 4th unit before he got a working one (i sold mine a while back when i started getting the same "fast becoming outdated for the $$$ i have tied up into it" feeling i previously got on the Provari. No regrets since)

At the end of the day, most of this stuff pretty much does the same exact thing in hand. Show me the true Provari of box mods and i'll be the first to fork over 3-4X the amount one costs over the other. Until that day comes though, yeah, cheap and affordable relative to a short term purchase mentality is going to remain a priority.

Just a heads up - the glue job is so bad inside my mini that the connector came completely unattached inside and was popping out of the top of the mod.. plus the huge gunks of glue all over the place were causing the plastic piece that covers the wires to pop out! It's an absolute mess.. Anyone's child could have done a better job putting this mod together..

Cloupor is only refunding me 27$ and some change - they refused to refund me the full 38$ I paid.

they instructed me to order a new one from GearBest because they sell them for 28$ - I advised them that Gearbest has been known to sell used and faulty devices and they refuse to respond back to me... I'm truly enraged by their practices..

They have NO remorse for the shitty devices they have let out into the community .. So whoever gets a refund - if you get more than 28$ I would love to know considering they won't budge for a measly 10$ to keep me happy. Fuck them and fuck their shitty mods...

I tried to keep an open opinion on them and let their past mistakes on the higher wattage devices go by the way side hoping they would redeem themselves (plus the fact that I never got burned by them before) but of course now I have with my first purchase that didn't even last 2 full weeks - never again will i give them a dime of my money.

Pass this along to anyone who thinks about purchasing a device from them.. if the warranty from whenever you purchase it advises that you must go through Cloupor - buy another product lol.

An update I forgot to post: http://www.v4p3r.com/buyer-beware-cloupor-mini/

On Feb 3rd, Cloupor finally issued a statement. It's at the very bottom of my article. They have acknowledged that there is a problem (just barely...they're claiming 0.1-0.2% LOL), and encourage people to email them at: [email protected]

Just keep in mind, as you can tell from their statement, this is a Chinese company with broken English. I wouldn't count on getting a whole lot of satisfaction by contacting them directly. I've read of some vendors accepting returns and even offering store credit or refunds to buyers of this device. Again, don't hold your breath there, either. That's largely going to depend on the retailer.

Yup - this exactly.. I got broken responses back from a 'Linda' which is obviously not her real name lol.. I asked why I was only being partially refunded and then she sent me the link to GearBest - As soon as I asked why they would refer me to GearBest a company who sells used items as new and this seems very SHADY - she never responded back.. I told her it would be my lifes goal to take away as many potential customers from them as I can lol..

They simply don't care - it's all about the cash grab.

LOL exactly.. she finally just responded after some choice words I sent and said they are on chinese holiday for the rest of month and to email her back in March .. I'm sure she is hoping I will forget about it.. luckily EcigProSeller who I bought it from is willing to make good on the remaining 14$ that I am owed (I thought it was 10 but i guess it was a few dollars more that I paid) - very stand up company and is disappointed with Cloupor as well because they are under the impression that full refunds would be given for faulty devices.. looks like Cloupor is lying to their vendors as well..

An owner of a local vape shop ended up taking back almost 25% of the Cloupor mini's he sold. That really hit him in the pocketbook big time. Cloupor is still dicking him around regarding refunds, he says he'll be lucky to get 50 cents on the dollar from them after shipping back the mods via DHL. He won't ever stock anything from Cloupor again, even if they put out a good product.

Famous last words:...."My Cloupor Mini works just fine"

View attachment 14279

Bought the last house new in 07 so yeah it could stand for some upgrades. Premiums paid, deductibles a grand, and i got hotel coverage.

woohoosimpsons.jpg

No seriously, mines still going good but I pull the batt when it's out of site. Really a shame the lame ass QC and CS as this is a really cool little device. Got mine from Elev8vape who extends the warranty to 6 months. So if it blows @ 5.5 months, maybe I'll get the upgraded version lol. For $35 shipped I couldn't resist. FYI, I still have my Cana V2 from them as well which has been flawless 7 months. Fire sub ohm (.6 lowest for me) and most right around .9 @ 25 watts. I feel the HE2's heat up a tiny bit when chain vaped but that's it. I initially ran it with the rear door off so I could "finger monitor" it. So far my lottery draw is OK. I swear though, even if Cloup drops the ball on this, someone else needs to jump on this size/ replaceable battery factor/ magnetic door. They only need to add the spring 510 and a solid build/ board to take over the world.

One thing I might note though:
Those of you w/ say a Kayfun Lite V2 sub ohm (.7 on mine), you will always notice condensation/ sometimes e-juice on the bottom of the atty/ top of the deck after a full tank of juice. I notice this when refilling.

On the mini, I have been using Lemo Drop's, which have their own built in drip catchers. I'm wondering if fluid running down the 510 may be contributing to some of the problems on these as well?

I just saw something here where people were having condensation w/ IPV's. As earlier stated by many, liquids and electronics usually don't work and play well together.

And not to minimize all you vendors that are getting the shaft. Buy it on credit and put it into dispute? Don't know. If I was a start up and put out 3K on a MOQ, I'd be F*UCKED! Biggest dispute that I've re couped is $4400 (on a new front end on a Jeep ZJ) and it took like 6 months and tons of self depositions. But I understand that for some of you (most of us), that's your operating capital for a couple of months. That's why I have been on the fence about starting my own site for a while. This stuff from China is hit or miss and the shipping and time delay are crazy unless you pop for DHL which bites your butt.

If I had concrete warranty from the manufacturers, I might be down with it. My poor friend Doris @ Focal is a sweetheart, but she has had to take the sometime heat for her manufacturers from me (Z*A). She made good on everything but the cost to her/ me and hassle factor to return a junk product can make or break a start up.

Most Chinese OEMs wont take credit on smaller orders from smaller retailers.. Paid in Full only.
