After morning chores, that short-term temporary fog from yesterday morning (yeah, the stuff that lasted about 30 hours) actually started to burn off, and lo and behold, there was some actual sunshine hiding behind it, so I decided a frost picture was required.

This is the rose bush next to the house door, shop to the left, horse barn and chicken coop behind that Elm tree in the background. Note the lack of snow (all the big piles of snow that Bob pushed up are outside the scope of this picture) but the white on the gravel and grass is frost/ice.

This one is in the back yard. Row of pine trees to the right and Caragana on the left. All the trees on this property are planted row and column, which makes it fairly easy to mow.

Next snow storm expected in five days... the day I am supposed to drive 150 miles to have 7-8 feral cats spayed. Sigh...

Have to admit, those are beautiful pictures, even-tho they depict the white stuff I despise.....:teehee:

That blue sky reminds me of Arizona.....BUT, there is prolly more snow up north toward Flagstaff than you have there.

Yeah, the older I get, the more I dislike it too. But in all honesty, we do pretty much take it for granted here, and we have had far less of it (so far) than usual. Ten years ago, there was a snow drift in that pine tree picture that went up to about five feet from their tops. I was better equipped to tackle it then. Don't know if I could even survive that today.

I remember ice fishing in Canada and having the same icy flakes on vegetation in the morning from humid wind blown from lake Ontario when it wasn't frozen over completely.

Juice prolly sees a good bit of it in her neck-o-da-woods too, but she'll be waving a pineapple at us next year.....:vino:

I remember the day I pulled into Flag on my way to start work at Grand Canyon. Spring -- and they just had 18 inches the night before I got there.
It has definitely been snowing up yonder, but I haven't looked to see how much. It rained here last night for a while, I would assume anywhere above 4-5K feet got the white stuff instead of rain.

SO, how did your day go, Rich?

We were done working at about noon today - did paperwork till 5:00, then went to my mother's house for a real home cooked meal, which was good.

Kind of amusing, actually. Twenty years ago, if someone asked what I did today, likely I would have said "not a damn thing," but the older we get, the more likely we are to write down on the "Done List" that I tied my own shoes or pulled up my pants after sitting on the pot and managed to not fall in the bathtub.

Yep I predicted this when the ancestry thing started. wife did not believe until she read this on the net.
I expect that insurance companys will be using the DNA data in the future....
https://www.businessinsider.com/dna-testing-ancestry-23andme-share-data-companies-2018-8

Wife bought a DNA kit for each of us years ago. She got hers tested my kit is still in a dresser drawer.

We all know that if the door is left open a bit... First mice and such come in then rats, cats, dogs, possums, etc.
And then the skunk comes in and the house is abandoned :)

Yeah, I flat out refused to do it also

Mr J did it (against my wishes) and it is how he found his biological mother (which was disappointing, of course)

They will have a field day with his DNA, considering he is a poster child for lifestyle diseases :(

Don't forget. The government wants to use DNA test results to find out what criminals did what. Once they have that access, there is no telling what else they'll do with it. How about placing folks on the terrorist watch list, al because your DNA tells them you might have certain tendencies?

So did I, but no one believed me. "They push this way too hard in their advertising. They have to be building a database. It might be government, but more likely industry is trying to nail everyone down to some specific genetic/tribal patterns." My sister and my niece both claimed I was just being paranoid.

Ohh they have it. I recently read about a conviction based on ancestry type DNA testing evidence.
Just wait till your health insurance or life insurance rates are based on your DNA and your Family DNA history...
it WILL happen.

Same thing with the wife Unit.
She has changed her tune though now.
I tried to tell her...
She is very susceptible to advertising and propaganda.

I wondered when the government was going to demand that your doctors provide this information. Last time I was in the Lab, having the vampires draw blood, I asked if they had done a DNA analysis. She looked at me and smiled (perhaps it had already been discussed?), then said, very seriously, "We have not received that order yet."

Just wait til they start rendition of citizens to make sure organs are instantly available for certain others? Got enough cash? No waiting list. Just grab someone with good DNA match.

The halls of D.C. are rife with reptiles, slithering hither tither and yon... whose bifocals are those, anyway? No, not the Geico gecko... he don't wear 'em and he looks straight into the camera when he cons you.
