i have been here all night. chewing on what I am being told. so far, I like the smoant maboo 225 w kit.

this kit, batteries and juice = I can be up and running ?
Pretty much yes,
I would suggest though, that you get a charger also; and, 2 sets of batteries. One to use and one to charge.

My one concern for you, is that if you’re looking for something that vapes close to the way a cigarette smokes, this tank may not be the better option.
However, if it isn’t, don’t get discouraged any mouth to lung tank will easily be compatible.

ok. first, let me say, I am one of the most indecisive people you could ever know. so, concidering that in the long run, I will be saving money. I think I will end up with a few different devices for different situations. so to get started, I am thinking this :

https://www.elementvape.com/smoant-naboo-225w-tc-starter-kit
I think I will try sub-ohming, though I have no freakin clue what that is.

https://www.directvapor.com/innokin-zenith-mtl-vape-tank.html
because I am told this is what I want. and what I will start with.
and a 1.6 ohm coil 5 pack.

now, to make things easier for me. please pick from either of those 2 sites.
juice, I need juice. but what ?
1, I want to mimic menthol sigs
2, I used to smoke a cherry flavor cigar cig, I really like em (until they reduced the flavor).

batteries ?
charger ?
consumables ?
I know I am missing something, what ?

I will be back sat morning. Friday night is my beer drink'n , cig smok'n and music listening night.

oh, how well does vaping go with beer drinkin ?

again, thank you :)

I’ve nevr vaped a menthol juice, so I won’t even try and suggest anything there.

Beer drinking and vaping?
Ummmm, always went well for me. Lol
If you check YouTube for the “vaping bogan.” He does beer and vape pairing aloe. It’s aussie stuff but he has American beer a lot.

I’ve been making my own liquid for about 5 years now, so I don’t have any real advice on juice other than check out halo. They helped me quit. Or it may be worth going to a brick and mortar to taste juice.

You will want a charger anything from xstar or efest would do well.
Also at least 2 pairs of batteries, preferably 3. 1 pair to use, 1 pair to charge and 1 pair for spare.

You’ll also want extra coils for the tanks

Other than that, you’re all set to drop the smokes.

Price isn’t so much an indicator of a good battery, so much as ratings.
I’ve been using Samsung 25r or Sony vtc5as for all of my mods. The Samsung’s are a bit cheaper than the Sony.... save a few bucks here and there. A lot of people also like the LG HG2 and the Samsung 30q

I wouldn’t, personally recommend anything other than those.

You’re spending a fair bit on your gear, it’s worth buying good batteries.
Thankfully good isn’t expensive ok the battery world.

Halo does have a nice selection of juices, they've been around a while, too. Like Mr. Bird, I've been mixing almost as long as Ive been vaping, but I remember liking Halo's Kringle's Curse. They have quite a few menthol flavors to choose from. They were also popular for their tobaccos, namely Tribecca and Turkish. I don't know if they have a cherry tobacco, though. Halo looks to have added a budget line to their list, as well.

Whatever you choose, I wish the best to you. If you end up with more questions as you go, everyone here is available to help. Looks like you found yourself with some real pro's here already :)

Glad you joined us, good luck!

It can be cheaper if you let it be. Then your room starts to look like this and you realize it's not that cheap. Lol shinyitus Is a wallet killer. And I bought 6 more mods over the weekend and one today. Lmao

I don't wanna talk about that part. I started in March with a single mod and a bottle of juice, budgeting for some future coils and juice. I now have 6 mods, a dozen atomizers and all kinds of building gear. Being a techy guy, I got hooked on the hobbyist lure.
--------------------------------------------------------
To the OP, VERY smart coming here first instead of a local shop. Local shops are hit and miss. Some have knowledgeable staff who will know exactly what you need, not try to oversell you and take the time to make sure you know what you're doing best they can before you leave.

Some will know what you need and still try to oversell you. The worst will have no idea what they're talking about, oversell you and send you home with more advanced equipment than you can handle just starting out, with little or no instruction and practically guarantee that your first impression of vaping will send you back to the cigarettes. I've personally witnessed this while standing in a shop here.

As others have said, a simple pod system like the JUUL is a good start and maybe that's all you need or want. People are different. If you like electronics and science and computers and stuff like that, you may find yourself, like me, becoming interested in going much deeper.

I never did smoke. I HATE cigarettes. Always did. I did however chew tobacco for a long time and quit that like 8 years ago. I like nicotine, I just can't stand the delivery systems. Toward the beginning of the year my niece got a regulated mod with a very good sub ohm tank (Valaryian) and showed me how to use it. It was WONDERFUL :D Naked 100 Brain Freeze was the juice she had at 100 watts. Berry flavored menthol. Taste great felt great and shortly thereafter I got my first setup.

Don't know how I got on all that, but there it is. :)

Not to mention that a shop can/will only sell you what they stock, which is a drop in the vaping world bucket.:)

Oh ops. I just saw that you are going for a dual 18650 regulated device right off the bat. That's what I did too. You appear to be drawn to the technology.

I do hereby predict that a year from now you will have more gear than you ever imagined today HAHA!!

You're getting great advice from these guys. Yes, batteries are of prime importance for safety and performance in that order. The guy who sold me my first setup was very insistent on that (good for him and me) and sold me a pair of Sony VTCa's.

It's easier to transition if the vape is similar to what you are smoking.
There are juices that replicate (or try to) most cigarette brands, regular and menthol.
I started that way, and still occasionally vape a juice with tobacco flavor.

Once you get used to the vape, though, there are tons of flavors out there.
Some aren't for everybody, so if there's a shop around you that lets you sample, I'd give them a visit.

UPDATE

"I have Vaped, therefor I am" lol.

I looked up vape shops, one on my way to run my sat errands, so I went in.
told the vaping dude(yes, he was vaping as I went in), I am a FNG and know squat. he said ok, these are good starter to try it out.
he then let me try a box mod and 2 different flavors. the thing hit pretty good. I should have hit it more, lol.
the dude was cool and didn't try to upsell me. so I bought a Joyetech eGo AIO All-In-One Starter Kit and some juice.
I knew I was overpaying = B&M. but I just HAD to pull the trigger, on something. and I am ok with it.

this thing doesn't hit like his box mod. but its ok and i will use it up. IMG_3179.JPG

Congratulations!

A big box mod is often too much for someone trying to quit cigarettes - sounds like you made a pretty good choice actually

Best of luck:)

I am not really sure what juice that is, though it says on the bottle. it is 3ml, I am still getting used to it, but I think the next bottle will be 6ml.

Only if you need it.

If you can put down the smokes with 3mg it will be fine - though most folks need a higher nic when quitting.

YouTube is your friend.

I would recommend starting with this:

AND this one

EDIT >>>> I guess I should have said that YouTube CAN be your friend. Bad info can be found there too.

ok. I am learning how to use this device, its not quite like cigs, but considering the differences, it does nicely, and even better in some ways. cigs, a small easy drag gets the job done. this unit, slow and deep seems to work best, so far. I think I was hitting it pretty hard last night. and it goes quit well with beer :)

also. perhaps its a placebo effect, but I seem to be feeling better. even though I have not quit cigs. 1 1/2 last night. and 1 this morning = charging the unit.

and I also put some carbon fiber car wrap on it. yeah, I know. but I have to personalize my stuff. that's how I roll.

The great (and at first sometimes frustrating) thing about vaping is that between the hardware and juice options there's a nearly infinite array of possibilities.

Glad to see you're enjoying the beginning of your journey :)

Welcome to vaping @jinx'd, now let's discuss backups...

She is right on target with the back up - the rule of thumb is a backup with a backup

The biggest and easiest excuse to smoke is when something goes wrong with your main vape, like needing to charge it, running out of coils, etc.

I am going to have a LOT more questions. but for right now. what size is the bottle of juice I have ? its 1 1/2" round and 3" tall = the glass that actually holds the liquid.

what are nic salts ?

backups. while this is my only one, it will be my backup. I am getting a box mod, but I am looking around some more.
and I still have some cigs, not throwing them out.

Nic salts are simply smoother so the throat hit isn't as strong, this is what allows for higher nic mg concentration.

Are you asking how many ml is your tank? If so the box the kit came in will tell you or looking it up on google at the makers site.

I sure hope its a good one. it doesn't have to last forever. if I get several months out of it, it would pay for itself.
I would have ordered sooner, but I am very good at over thinking things..... another good thing about my order = the new juices !
I am getting tired of what I have, perhaps it will taste better in the new mod.

You can’t go wrong with Innokin.
When I started I picked up a provari for home and an Innokin box for out and about. That Innokin survived for over 5 years. It was dropped, stepped on, slid across concrete and altogether looked like it was in bomb test..... but it worked like the day it came out of the box.
The only issue was that the battery didn’t hold its charge as well. But I’m the case of a lipo, it shouldn’t.
