well, decided to give the staggerton another go since last failing miserably however long ago it was I tried.. the ribbon stack pulled out of the hot glue while I was space captioning it not once, but twice. I managed to get it back together, but theres a bad spot or 2 due to the spaces being uneven however, I'm fairly pleased for my 2nd (maybe 3rd, cant remember exactly) attempt.

8 or 10*.4x.1 KA1 (started with 10, but I know I lost 1, I'm thinking 2 pieces) / 38g N80 framed with 26g and fused with 40g again, N80

its a staple stack with spaced clapton wrap, then the frames are fused to it in a second pass of wraps. its like the opposite of a staggered stapled fused clapton, where the frames are spaced and then fused onto the staple stack.

only one set of frames.. you space Clapton a ribbon stack then frame that and fuse in the spaces of the ribbon.

Great job man that looks perfect! Looks like you literally missed no gaps in your fuse. Excellent job. It's kinda tough when your fusing with 40g cause you can't really see every fuse. Even with magnifying glasses its tough to see what's going on. You just have to kinda detect the pattern of success and make sure the wire doesn't deviate from that pattern. I'm actually gonna try to groove fuse another staple staggerton and hopefully it will come out a little better than the last time I did it. Love your build man!

That is true I notice every single little inconsistency in my builds and it always bothers the hell outta me!

I'm making two pairs of aliens today, 3x26 and 5x30 SS, 4.2mm ID and 6.5 wraps for a VCMT2 30mm

thanks shred! I took a pic of the good part lol the staple stack pulled out of the hot glue twice while I was claptoning it, so the spaces weren't uniform, it showed in a few parts of the coil. you can see in the pic I posted of it coiled and in the rda too.. overall though, it came out 7.5-8.0/10 I'd say.

I'm glad I'm not alone then lol I hear these people talk about how great it is, they have to just be on the hype train or something, idk. had the same issue with the original, I had one as soon as they shipped.. i tried and tried for a week or two then it sat in its box until I finally sold it on here lol

I have no idea why I thought the sq would be better.. I always did have to touch the stove twice as a kid *shrug*

That's an Augvape Templar with a broken insulator that I make work anyway by just using two post holes lol

I use a keyring now, always. Even if it's 3 cores, keyring. I can use lower gauge decores if I want, start and stop as much as I want, cores don't twist as much, don't have to stretch my decore as much...don't have much luck letting it rip full speed, so I slow down and inch my way along, WHIRRR. WHIRRRR. WHIRRRR. I use a corded drill and it does not stop immediately like cordless ones do, so I go on and off the trigger a lot

I think having a consistent method helps, too, that's why I use a keyring even with two core aliens (yep lol), just do it the same every time

I mean sliding along to keep cores flat, I also bump it to keep them untwisted between where my wrap stops and the keyring, keeps the alien from doing anything weird

I have no affiliation with them at all, but you're gonna love the wire Just placed an order to replenish some stock myself on Monday. I've used CS exclusively for getting close to a year now. Only ever had one issue, received N80 instead of SS and it was the next day or morning after, I had the correct wire in my hand. Awesome and fast customer service.

I have no affiliation with them at all, but you're gonna love the wire Just placed an order to replenish some stock myself on Monday. I've used CS exclusively for getting close to a year now. Only ever had one issue, received N80 instead of SS and it was the next day or morning after, I had the correct wire in my hand. Awesome and fast customer service.

I saw pretty quickly that I had the wrong gauge decore for the second alien pass, and now I'm not scared to use up ribbon since I have more ordered, so I played around and started at the swivel end to cross the angles

Not quite, I want the swooshes to line up just right, this one is better but has messups and more spacing, AND I'm thinking the outside alien wrap caught itself and moved when I was coiling it...I'm tired of wire for today though

yuck, I hate kbee wire lol but I feel like good wire is for the builder, I'd never know kbee from any other once its built lol but yeah man, people will pay for good hand made coils. I kinda felt you were selling yourself short. Hell, I usually sell mine for $10 a pair (well, depending on the type - more for harder builds) and yours are superior to mine. Looking forward to vaping that alien stagg though, whenever that day comes
