Any build reccomedations for the authentic Hadaly?..lowest ohm range I can consider?

I switched to SS316 wire so no kanthal builds for me personally.

I can do twisted and basic Clapton's or just plane old standard wraps...I have a 2.0 2.5 and 3.0 mm jig to wrap on and I use cotton bacon v2 cotton.

There is only one ijoy for a mech and it's the 5 leg but I was not recommending an ijoy anyway. If you have the money for an Orca, you have a few extra bucks per year for the best 20700 available.

I saw them and looked into it, the RDA seems passable maybe not top tier but nothing stood out as inherently bad in the design to me. The mod was a bit of a different story. I don't believe the 510 is spring loaded and the design of the button/firing mechanism didn't do much for me. Looks like you would have to fiddle with it and do some modifications. I also think the top of the 510 has a bunch of cut-outs which look like a good chance for leakage. If you don't need the mod, your £12 would be better spent on a Wasp Nano IMO. If you want a kit for £12, I don't think there are many competitors at that price.

Thankyou for your reply. I have a wasp nano but can't seem to get along with, think I'm gonna have to give it another go though. Yeah the box looks like a fixer upper. I don't need the box but I have plenty of copper lying about was going to start again with it anyway. Just a cheap enclosure really :)

Some mods use 26g, some use 24g... so be careful.

For instance... My Neo Mara can use 24 and 22, my Molly can only use 26g. But neither of them can take 1/2" wide... Molly 5/8" and same with Neo Mara.

I've bought silver sheets from him before and comes well protected.

additionally... the 7" lengths he sells normally is the better buy., which he sells them 7" x 5/8" ;)

Hi I've used 24g in my little orca at 1.6cm wide and it fits nicely so the 26g should fit.

Another regulated Squonk... This one supports up to 21700, but caps at 80w.

Hmmmm....

... Mmm-hmm, it's got a side squonk hole instead of an end squonk hole. Do not take me wrong, still enjoy dusting off the Reo clones once in a while but prefer an end squonk hole. Side squonk holes kind of force me to pause and think about squonking. This is merely my hay penny. Aside from that and being full regulated, can see it might be a good squonk mod.

Personal suggestion here, take it or leave for what it's worth. I find that usually 5 wraps around 3 mm inner diameter gets me between .3 - .5 ohms no matter the wire material type. Also find that a good sweet spot for most any RDA I put the build on. Some others have seemingly adopted this kind of building as well, it just seems to be a good over all general purpose build, even with plain old Clapton wire.

Currently, I'm using a .5 build of A1 Kanthal @ 24 awg on a Wasp Nano deck. Got a hundred pack of them off Fast Tech, so far the pre-coils I've got from there seem pretty spot on as to being what they say. A .5 coil also benefits as far as length of charge held for a single 18650 cell. Going to around .2 to .25 ohms gets a bit too hot, heat wise and eating up battery charge wise for me.

Note regarding pre-coiled, for around $3.50 USD, considering time spent doing the wrapping imho, you can't beat the price. Temco sells 100 ft rolls of wire around $6.00 USD and sure you might get more than 100 coils out of that but will they all be consistently the same ohms? What is your time worth to get that? Besides that a bit of laziness does creep in on a person. :)

Again this is only an opinion. I won't be upset if ignore it, or be too bubble headed if you use this type of build. I'm not pushing any specific build nor am i denigrating any specific build. All in I hope you find what works best for you. :)

I'd start with your favorite build and just go from there - I love mine and just do a boring old Clapton

Yep, here's the ultimate advice. :)

New Orca squonk hand check...can't wait for the Hadaly to get here...Haku clone takes first ride...Using the 20700 to 18650 battery adapter from my Hugo Squeeze....Time to order some Ijoy 20700's.

I really like the looks of the Orca with the rounded edges.

I need to save up so I can get one.

Recent posts have made me really want one of these now.

One thing I noticed is that this thread seems to be full of enablers! LOL, but it's all good. :)

Pico Squeeze question: What builds are you running in them?

Today is the first time I used a lower ohm coil (Plain round wire 24g Kanthal A1 0.3ohm - Seems more like .2, I'll test when I get home on a proper meter) on the Pico. It ramps up super fast compared to the .4-.5 builds I normally run and the vape is pretty hot. .4-.45 seems like my personal sweet spot, but I was interested to see what others use in theirs. This is on the Hadaly clone.

I build .35 Aliens normally, which the pico consistently hits 3.75v+ fresh

Which I think comes out to about 40w

Watt?? No clone rda tossed in? <chortle>

Come on, man - for that dolly and price, some newb needs to just Plug&Play ;-)

As much as I like helping people out, I don't have any clone RSAs I can give out...otherwise I would of added one.

Additionally what some newb needs is not my concern...done my good deeds for the month of May giving a Mod and RDA away and sending a fellow bonker a B-Day RDA...Time to be an ass again for balance purposes

Floris delphino is the place. If you don't mind putting together yourself. Mod cost me 50 the 510 is 7 and the silver contacts were 10. So 67 bucks or I could buy one for 100 or better. Bought one once and then USPS crushed it. Hopefully this one doesn't have the same end result.

yep works.
My wasp nano build in a Nuppin on top of a Pico Squeeze :)
You can fit 2 26ga wires in the nuppin holes.

Might have to do something else though as the tiny Nuppin seems to heat up rapidly.
Nuppin on a squeeze? Like my $60 rda on a boxer clone. Lol I bet it's a great vape though.

Shit - I've use way more expensive RSAs than Nuppin on cheap ass mods - as long as they fire to my satisfaction the mod is secondary to good squonking

Including a cheap clone atty would turn off many Molly buyers anyway

Otay Bonkers...

Please tell me about the Chalice III and Chalice 4.

Saw an old-school vid from our fave Shed-Man and went a-looking...

Anybody got one of these? How do you like it? What build? How's the flavor and airflow?

Enlighten me if you will...:)

- Just took a Haku off my Squeeze. Put a Nuppin on it. Vaping great!

- that Molly is a GREAT DEAL. Someone buy it. Seriously...

- I run my Squeeze, like most of my mechs, at around 0.4, and simple wire build. This gives me instant, slightly warm vape. Anything much lower, and I don't know how a Hadaly will "keep up" in terms of airflow. I know people do 0.25 claptons in it...I just can't make that work...

So that Skyfall RSA by ESG that Todd mentioned in his video today...

upload_2018-5-8_14-58-15.png

Nice big Squonky hole...although the slightly raised positive part means its not truly flush to the deck, unless that is concave and my eyes are playing tricks on me? Thinking its raised due to the light refraction line?

BUT

this is what has my interest...

upload_2018-5-8_14-59-49.png

I know right? Another RSA with a ledge for the cap to sit on! OMG!!... JK ;) But I do prefer RSAs with that lip lol

I have both

The Chalice III is very old school MTL RSA - and was the gold standard for squonking forever - but was developed when "sub-ohming" was something few did and as a result, does not handle heat well if built under 1 ohm or so. Gets very hot if you go much under that.

It is very, very tight draw and prone to flooding despite the fact it does drain well - still highly loved by many when you can find one

It was cloned but they never held a candle to the authentic due to the complex air flow systems

The much newer Chalice IV is a much more grown up version - drains no matter what - I have yet to flood it out and I live to squonk freshly with each draw

More of a modern MTL draw, but can be adjusted for a lot of air - very, very good flavor, highly adjustable and an outstanding single coil attie

Handles heat much better than its predecessor - supposedly the clone is pretty close to 1/1

I liked it well enough to fork over the bucks for a second one

I also have a clone but have yet to build on it

@JuicyLucy

Thanks so much for sharing the details of your experience. Sounds like the v4 is the one for me to chase now.

Seems from the vids I watched that the airflow on the v4 allows for more of a restricted DTL pull, whereas the v3 is strictly MTL. Do you think that is right?

Go ahead and accumulate massive amounts of negative karma until around xmas, which also happens to be around my bday, and there just might be a way to get yourself on the good side of things in one fell swoop.

Agree - though I have found just the right setting to get a very good MTL with 4, but it took time. A very good redistricted DL is easy on it

Chalice III is one of the best (that I own) MTL rdas. It has a super tight -> tight-ish draw, not really a DL in any shape or form unless you drill it. They are rather expensive and not easy to find, Chalice II tighter draw still, harder to find.
@JuicyLucy can tell you about Chalice IV, is seemed looser draw so I skipped it.

Sorry, every Sunday...Sacrament of Confession...poor Rev. knows me by the sound of my voice...Karma is good; I think, maybe...ok I'm screwed.

Thanks for the info/confirmation. I am more interested in it as a restricted DTL. SImilar to my older Kanger TopTank mini with the RBA head.

Also, thank you for sharing your experience and info. It truly seems that I should aim for the v4 since I am more interested in a restricted DTL than tighter MTL.

I will likely try a clone of the v4 first before trying to find an authentic. Are there any well-known clones or ones preferred over others? FastTech preferred if possible.

It seems they are sold out at FT and 3F, REO has the authentic.......
