Now for the bad news snow report:

A couple of you might remember that last night I posted about finally getting my antique Bobcat running and clearing all the snow in the driveway and making paths to the shop, barns, and homestead cabin. I had it where bare ground was showing in most places and the greatest snow still in areas where I cleared was, at most 1/4". Because my driveway is about 50 feet wide in front of the garage and 20 feet at the front gates, I clear it by going across, back and forth, so I build a wall of snow on both sides. That wall was 3-4 feet high in most places and 6 feet in others. But we had clear ground everywhere we needed to walk (or drive come next week and shopping day). Last night, as of 10 PM, the NWS forecast had us cloudy today, but no snow at all in their guess. This morning, I woke up to a small blizzard - snowing heavily with winds 35-40 mph. NWS, at that time, changed their forecast to brief snow showers with maximum accumulation of 2-4 inches. By the time we went out for morning chores, there was already 6 inches in all my cleared areas and some drifts in the path to the barn over a foot deep. By evening chores, there was 8-10 inches everywhere with drifts 2-3 feet deep. Except for seeing those walls of snow down either side of the driveway, there was no indication whatsoever that I had ever spent 3 hours clearing snow yesterday. And the temperature at the moment is -3F, so the Bobcat will not get started again for a couple weeks (when it gets above freezing again).

Now, tell me again how much it costs to move to Peru...

Maybe just GA? ;) If we get a half inch of snow, they close everything and nobody goes anywhere. :D

I'm truly feeling like an old fart tonight. After 2 wks of doing little but laying on the couch moaning and waiting for the flu to pass, today was payday, so I had to get up, dressed, go to the bank, and grocery shop tonight. I feel like I've run 10 marathons.

Andria
The flu is one hell of a flu this year. Just take it easy and it will eventually pass in time. I tried working after the two weeks and it was horrible the first day back after being sick.

Yeah when we got back from Kroger, I pitched a fit and made them fix their own damn dinner and mine while they were at it. :teehee: I feel more or less human now. :)

i suspect that without the medical care and such we have now this would be another flu epidemic to rival the one back in the early 20th century in the usa.

I know the only thing that helps a little is the Tami flu capsules. However, I can't take it.

Quite possible -- my husband's started off with that 104F fever, for which my son and I forced him to the ER where he got IV fluids for an hour before it went down to 99F. Also he got tamiflu, so his got over with a lot faster than mine. I think the fact that I inhale steroids daily for asthma is what kept my own immune system from running amok like that.

Mine and the spawn's was microwave stuff, and my husband had a sandwich -- he was sick too, so he needs the fuel as much as I do. I did manage to do the dishes. :)

Probably not... starting from Thurs Feb 1 when I woke with a fever of 100.4, I didn't vape at all for about 5 days... then all I could manage were tiny mouth-only "sips," so I mostly didn't bother. didn't miss it either, for about 10 days, then I started missing it more, I think just because I was feeling a bit better after the antibiotics started working.

I'm finally able to inhale it a little, but carefully... kinda like when I first started and still had a chestful of tar to get rid of, 'cept now it's just a chestful of bronchitis. What fun!

And how ironic is it, that day I woke with the fever, Feb 1, was my 4 yr vaperversary. The no-smoke-a-versary isn't till July, but I started vaping Feb 1, 2014, was vaping daily by the middle of Feb 2014. My first quit date was the end of Feb 2014, but then had that whole appendectomy massacree in the summer, which pushed back my quit date to July 25.

I may be able to sneak one mod past the wife but two would get me a room at the back porch motel.

I’ve decided I really don’t need a retirement fund. I’ll just work until drop dead at the job.

Well I’ve already got four in the regular rotation and another six on the shelf. I know. A small collection for a true vaper but it’s only been recently that any of the new mods have gotten my interest.

I haven't bought a new mod since July 2016, when I bought both of those coolfire4-18650-75w. None have really caught my interest until this new Aegis came out -- I'm a tee-total KLUTZ, so that mod was MADE for me! But I like the orange-to-black gradient one, and i can't find any of those for less than about $68. My son said he might get me one for my bday this year -- c'mon, May! :D

Andria

EDIT: actually I bought that SX Mini M more recently than that, but I bought it used from someone here at VU, so I don't count it as a "new mod." ;)

I have 7 regulated sqounkers, 3 unregulated squonkers and 2 mech squonkers. About 10 regulated mods and 8 or so mechs.
Not really interested in any more right now.
Of course my most expensive mods was $45 I think for my first DB160.
The last DB160 was a little over $20 I think.

It may not; the main problem was that the flu sucked ALLLLLLLLL my energy away so badly I couldn't cough up all the crap it left in my chest, so it turned into bronchitis. Which is on the mend now too, but still working hard to get all that shit out.

Andria
I hope you get over it soon, I have an impaired immune system (from cancer) and it's easy for it to get out of hand quick

I have some Picos and a couple of others. Nothing spectacular but they work. My recent regret was a Joyetech Dolphin. I am going to rehome that one to a old associate I know. She smokes a carton a week.

Picos get about 30% of my vape time right now.
A Pico and a wasp is a great squonk combo.
for me anyway.

I’ve got a workshop. I just have to build me another storage shed so I can clean all the junk out of it. It’s about half full of boxes right now. Went out there about a month ago and when I turned on the ten year old ac/heater combo to warm the place up it blew spark out at me and tried to set me on fire. I figure the fan motor blew so I’ll be replacing that when it gets warmer.

My most expensive mod is my Therion. My freedom smokes had it on sale at Christmas time for 80 dollars and I had been wanting to get one for a long time. Just couldn’t pull the trigger on a 160 dollar mod. My wife was actually the one that said I should go ahead and get it.

Speaking of the flu .. and vaping, so far I haven’t got it though the other morning I was coughing some and felt bad, but next day just a bit of a sinus stuffiness, now fine *knocks on wood*. And that’s with people all around the office coughing and out with the flu. I was just thinking, in the over 3 years I’ve been vaping and stopped smoking I think I’ve had 1 cold. Compared to a couple or more times a year I was smoking. Has anyone else here has fewer colds? Makes me wonder if it’s the PG (I vape 80pg/20vg MTL, started at 70pg/30vg) that’s killing the germs and viruses lol. Anyone else had fewer colds since switching to vaping? I also have copd which has improved and not a single incidence of having to go to emergency room or dr due to exacerbation.

I haven’t caught as many colds since I quit smoking either. About once a year and it only lasts a couple of days instead of two or three times a year and taking about a week to get over.

What is a Wasp?
I need to research squonking because I'm a little behind on vaping equipment.
it is an RDA that can be dripped or squonked depending on which 510 pin you have in it.
A most excellent sllightly restricted lung hit atty with very good flavor.
single coil 22mm diameter and only around $12 at FT.

My wife is the one who sneaked and got me started vaping with an overpriced cigalike kit.
she makes no complaints about the cost or the vapor, but I am kind of a tightwad and not a lot of money either ;)

I did not smoke in the house, I do vape in the house.

Yeah. She knew how bad I wanted one. I was still a little hesitant even at 80 dollars but I have to admit that it’s the best mod I’ve ever used. I’ve got presets built into it for all my tanks that I’m using and I’m really starting to get into the tech aspect being able to download and view the diagnostic info from it.

Yeah I've had a lot fewer colds, and the couple I have had, I barely knew I was sick at all. But this flu takes no prisoners, it's the wickedest shit in 20 yrs.

I don't think they have that orange/black gradient one that I want. I want it as a Halloween mod, since last Halloween I realized, OMG, i DON'T HAVE A HALLOWEEN MOD! :giggle: So I bought an orange/black driptip to keep me motivated to get that Aegis. :D
