But...Plissken!

*Drool* He was so fucking gorgeous with that long hair. He's STILL fucking gorgeous. But I think my most-fave movie of his is probably Tombstone, which also had the spectacularly-talented Val Kilmer. And Powers Booth, who recently got a mention in this thread.

Stanton was one of those actors who regardless of the lousy actors, directors and writers involved in a movie always did his best and made his roles as good as they could be. I think the best actors in Hollywood are the character actors.

A brush with greatness, lol

He was arguably my favorite actor - but I have oddball tastes
He was definitely one of the best character actors of a generation

Ahhh....Secretariat

I always wondered if they "retired" him the right way.

Did they put the brood mare in the paddock with him and let nature take its course?

Or did they strap a machine on him and turn on the highlight reel from "National Velvet" or "Flicka"?

I suspect probably the latter. I have no first-hand knowledge of it, but I've heard that horse breeding is rather violent... Any mare that would be judged superior enough to breed with him, they probably wouldn't want to risk under those flying hooves. But maybe in his old age, he was allowed the normal delights of a stallion, when he was too old to be much of a hazard.

Did not know but he seemed like a match for Playboy interviews.

Steven Tyler has seemingly had a seizure and had to cancel their remaining tour dates. Let's hope it's not too serious and he recovers, because dammit, we've lost enough already this year.

Madonna has a deal.

A slick chick, Madonna Louise Ciccone wouldn't have sold her soul cheap
and would likely have insisted on longevity being part of the contract.
Eventually the debt will be collected but I'll bet ya Sean goes first.

Honestly I think she's gonna check out MJ style first.
I would love to see BILL 'PERVERT' COSBY check out next. But the evildoers never leave quick.

I'm a huge fan of Connery's bond films so that will be a sad one for me. :(

Bro, when I found out Raymond Burr was dead it was a sad day, but when I found he was gay It was traumatic

This was my role model.....I own all of the episodes of Perry Mason on DVD...
The first few bars of the theme song was the tune my PC played when it booted.

That's pretty amazing. Especially when you consider the public perception of the day.
Exactly. Perry Mason ran from 1957 to 1966. The Stone Wall Inn rebellion wasn't until 1969.
Burr met his lover on the set of Perry Mason. He was married to Isabella Ward
140px-Isabella-Ward-Pasadena-Playhouse.jpg
in 1948 but it didn't last and they divorced in 1952.
He met Robert Benevides in the 50's on the set of Perry Mason
and lived happily ever after until he died in 1993.

Well damn...
I wonder if the wine is still being bottled?

That's really cool though, I remember watching Perry Mason when I was kid. We didn't have cable and it can on one of the few clear channels that came through
