Ebola Virus Updates! Please post any updates you find!

Can the Ebola Virus make it's way into your e-Juice Liquid?

If a e-Juice vendor who has the Ebola Virus without knowing it, and sneezes into a batch of juice they are making will you become infected?

The way the virus is contracted through bodily fluids. saliva, sweat, mucus, tears, semen, vomit, urine, etc

Would the atomizer heat burn off the virus?

Will the PG in e-Juice kill off the virus?

These are concerning questions since this Virus is the deadliest Ebola outbreak the world has seen — claiming more than 4033 lives and infecting double that as it rampages around the world.

What are liquid MFG vendors doing to insure their liquids are virus free, the extra precautions they are taking?

And what about those juice makers who Do Not have clean rooms who make their liquids in their kitchens, and Do Not wear protective gear while mixing?

UPDATE 10-14-2014:
The highly respected Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP) at the University of Minnesota just advised the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) that “there isscientific and epidemiologic evidence that Ebola virus has the potential to be transmitted via infectious aerosol particles,” including exhaled breath.

the chances of that happening are even lower than me winning a prize on mod envy. :p

I think I heard somewhere that PG serves as an anti microbial.

Could it kill the virus if someone accidently put something like a BOOGER in your bottle of lets say 50/50 E-Liquid?

What would nic do to it?

I think it's a valid concern.

But the answer would be no in anything with PG in it., IMO. Ebola should not be transmittable through ejuice. PG is an anti-bacterial and is used as a sanitizing agent in hospitals. It would kill the Ebola virus if present in ejuice containing PG.

I would be more concerned with who handled the packaging if Ebola becomes an issue. As in, the mail man or vape shop.

question: how could someone "accidentally" put a booger in your bottle of juice? that sounds premeditated to me.

Here's the reality of what's going on w/ the Ebola Virus: It's literally the 21st Century equivalent of the Influenza Pandemic of 1918. You can read about it by clicking -->HERE<--

One thing's for sure: We conquered that with medical expertise circa early 20th Century. I have faith in the medical advancements that will squash Ebola! Faith...yes, I have it!

Giggle....ummm cough cough, ........

there is some point in there though. Just stick to the juicers you are used to ordering from. I would suggest and I don't plan on ordering any from 3rd world countries any time soon and don't forget DIY is always an option.:)

can you prove that?
Boiling at 250–273°F for 30 minutes is the standard for sterilizing something (from wikipedia). PG doesn't boil until 370°F, so an e-cig firing would be well above the temperatures needed for sterilization. It doesn't meet the time duration necessary, but since it exceeds the temperature requirements I think it's got the potential to kill off at least some of it. But, hey, I'm not a doctor :)

If the mailman sneezes on your vape mail, it doesn't matter if the fluid inside is clean.

I'm all about the DIY option. If it becomes an issue.

And if the mailman sneezes on your Nic, PG & VG, it doesn't matter if the contents are clean then does it?

That's true. But my supplies are already in the freezer. I don't need a mailman for at least 18 months.

The Ebola virus can only live about 3 to 10 days outside a host. Probably much less in a batch of PG/VG.

If you look at it that way your gonna need a lot of duck tape to seal off your doors and windows:D

That's one way to counter a valid point I suppose. Make fun of it.

But no, since containment is the only defense against Ebola, I think doing my little part to be informed so that I don't contract, spread and make it harder to contain if it becomes an issue is just,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,wise.

To each their own.

I think your concerns are valid Smokie... But, I have to ... or at least choose to believe that the PG would have some effect on it. Isn't this why they pump PG into hospital ventilation systems, to kill viruses?

No one in/no one out (travel) problem solved . But we are the ones allowing them travel with screening which I don't think can catch every fever. Our hospitals haven't a clue how to handle something like this. (go home you have a fever of 106 and you just came from an infected area) It is what it is~

Vapers never want to know if there are any potentially harmful effects when it comes to vaping, they always want to keep their eyes closed, and hope it goes away. 7ba169fe29086227147231fb064c090c.jpggemini-Thomas-Hardy-Quotes-1.jpg

I agree.

But as far as my ejuice goes, the only way I can be infected, IMO, is from packaging. Again, if it goes that far.

@VaporJoes Why do they think your always behind all threads that vapers do not want to hear or know about.

This one vaper commented: Crystal Freeze Vapor joe will do anything to make money..... Reeks of desperation

And i wrote back:

Crystal Freeze VaporJoe has nothing to do with this thread, in fact he does not care what he vapes but I do! This is my Thread. Stop being clueless with unconfirmed statements.

Some questions are better left unanswered:D

But stranger additives have been found in E-Liquids (and baby formula) being imported from China:eek:

this is amusing and I can see where people may be concerned. the virus would die off due to excessive heat. It could not encapsulate into a spoor to wait for more hospitable conditions to flourish. DIY is a good option as is being careful of foreign sources for your ingredients. if it looks funky or smells off flush it. use common sense.
