Well
@Rhianne has been talking about paying between $100 and $140 for a carton of cigs. Takes a lot of Juuls to make up for that, even if half of that cost goes to the State of NY.
In my mind, this is just one thing included in a whole mess of things that the government needs to know PEOPLE HAVE FIGURED IT OUT, FINALLY.
It is all about money.
Insurance, all kinds of it, is the biggest fucking racket there is. Do we not know what that's about? I remember a few years ago Blue Cross Blue Shield somehow let it get out that they had a 19 BILLION dollar surplus that year, people with families paying about $800 a month for health insurance. What did they do with the money? Did the state Insurance Commissions make them refund it to their subscribers? Hell no they did not. I don't remember what they did do with it, it's been a while, but they should have given it back!
My son, involved in a head-on collision that was someone else's fault, over 18 months ago, is still waiting to get an opportunity to have his say in front of a judge, as the offers that came from State Farm (the other guy's insurance company) were just obscene. They didn't even cover his medical bills. Every single thing SF has done has taken forever, and they are dragging and dragging this thing out, hoping my son would settle for peanuts. This situation has put my husband and me damn near in bankruptcy and I don't even have recourse because I wasn't involved in the accident. I want so badly to sue the shit out of State Farm, because their negligence and failure to respond in a timely fashion has cost me tens of thousands of dollars that should have been going to pay my own bills.
Everything is about making money and not giving anything back. And let's don't even get started talking about the shitty medical care we get these days.
