I have an Egrip with an RBA base and have been building my own coils ever since I started vaping, even on the CE5 I began with. All I see on tutorials are micro coils, and that's all I've been making.
But why? Nobody has ever explained to me why to use micro coils. To me, they just seem to take up more wire and time.
Today I ran short on wire, so instead of 9 wraps on a micro coil, I did 8 with the last bit of wire I had left. Turns out my egrip refused to fire that because the resistance was too low. So I took it out and spreaded the wraps out, making it a regular coil, and it works great!
So somebody please explain to me why micro coils are the most common choice. Otherwise, I'll stick with regular coils from now on.
