I'm certain this has been done before but I'm being lazy and don't feel like doing a search. IF it has been done it's been a while.

I've been a stagehand for the last 25 years. Work through the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 51 in Houston, TX.

We do the lighting, sets, sound, props, and any other technical aspect backstage of theatrical productions and concerts.

Wish you lived closer. My yard needs serious TLC or napalm. I hate yard work and my son't who's supposed to be doing it obviously hates it as much as I.

At almost 52 years old, I'm on my third job. I spent the mid '80's to mid '90's in parts at a Chevrolet dealership, then for 19 years I sold Harley's at one of the largest dealers in Illinois & now for the last 14 months have been a purchasing agent for a company involved in heavy construction equipment (wheel loaders & articulated trucks, mostly).

Used to be a fiber optic splicing specialist Bob.
Was Customer Support Manager for a Japanese Fiber splicing equipment company. Covered the USA and Mexico and Caribbean.
Worked with ATT transoceanic fiber outfit. They wanted me to go lay a cable acrioss the Atlantric with them. Got a call in the middle of the night, the splicing tech on the Longlines ship was having trouble and they were in a force 5 storm... Got their problem resolved but glad I did not go on the pleasure cruise.

also worked with Navy weapons lab in RI but am not allowed to tell ya what I did with them.

worst job I ever had. The job was great the company sucked.
    Sales dept ran customer support....

also worked with GTE/Verizon for years in CO's Maintenance and conversions to new tech switching systems.

I have an odd employment history.
I was a chef in New Orleans from the time I was 19 until I was 33; but always as a night job; mostly, for fun.
I worked in the valve industry for about ten years as a main job; and, then as a PI.
After Katrina i drove a rig for a while and then worked on the river for towboat line.

When I was 33 I went back to school and earned an electrical engineering degree; however, I ended up going back to work as a pi after graduation- Mostly because I was able to work from home.

I wound up as an old phart programmer and Unix administrator.
then had to move back to KY to help care for wifes parents and worked a filler job at Lowes for last 5 years before I officially retired.
could have done better but it was close and did not want to drive 1.5 hours each way for a nicer job...
That was where I learned to hate humans...

I do the dirty work on the Death Star. The CO's are getting pretty quiet now, racks of old switching electronics and DSL are down to small mailbox size routers and multiplexers.

Yep when I first started into Telecom in 73 I worked in old electro-mechanical equipment, quite noisy stuff.
Now they just maybe just hear the hum of cooling fans.

I also worked power rooms. Honkin big 2000 LB wet cell batteries in series to make 52 volt strings... and multiple 800/1600 amp or so chargers in load sharing config.

Most of my coworkers were afraid to work on them...
Were kinda nasty 3 phase 460 and floating grounds and such in the chargers...
Had co workers vaporize scope test leads :)

Absolutely. I take a lot of pride and treat every project as if it's the most important thing ive ever done. When customers see that, it gives them pride and peace of mind. All of that usually leads to fantastic word of mouth and referrals. I don't spend a dime on marketing and stay booked up 6 weeks in advance almost all year round with the exception of christmas and new year weeks.

I'm an assistant product manager for a company that distributes little metal connectors that go in boats, airplanes, rockets, and heavy duty stuff that might end up getting shaken around a lot or exposed to extreme temperatures. Mostly I get pricing and lead time for our sales team.

My daughter lives in Northern Indiana, always go through that way to take Mountian parkway to 64, 64 to 65N. My wife’s grandmother lives near Mt. Sterling, I’d rather her visit us though, beautiful country but she has a house full of freeloading thieves.

Yeah seems to be a rise in freeloading thieves...
Several around my neck of the woods but none bother me so far as they all think I am a crazy old phart with guns :)
    They might be right

Had one batch of metal thieves once. Emptied a non plugged shotgun through the trees over their heads and they took off like mad and kinda wrecked their truck on a tree escaping :)

On the days I'm not calculating Cromwell's post royalties, I'm a trainer/pharmacy tech at a high volume refill center, of sorts. Love my job. :)
