I'm just interested in other peoples view on this! I am a type 2 diabetic and have been experiencing a ton of blood sugar spikes as high as 580! I thought I was gonna die! I felt like I was insanely drunk but a bad kinda drunk! Doctors said I almost went into a diabetic coma! Lately after a lot of medication changes and insulin changes its almost under control. I've been vaping for years without noticing any difference in blood sugar levels but am wondering if e liquid has sugar in it or turns into sugar? Anyone know about this topic? Thanks

I have a diabetic friend, and nicotine has the biggest affect on her blood sugar.

Nicotine does raise blood sugar, but only for a short time. VG is a sugar alcohol and does get eventually metabolized into glucose very very slowly and has a negligible effect on blood sugar levels. It is a caloric sweetener though, about 6 calories per mL, still it's glycemic impact is very low.

If you are having trouble with blood sugar, cutting back your nicotine may help, but overall, ingesting less carbohydrate in your normal diet is the way to go.

I'm type 1 and been vaping for more than two years. I have never had what you are describing. Nicotine is not good for us but nether is smoking.... I gave up cigs with vaping and my Dr. can live with that as long as my numbers stay good he said.
