I had the pleasure of being selected by Uwell to review the Beta of the new D1 Subtank; particularly the new coils considering the upheaval that erupted after the v.1 coils came out for the Crown II RBA Tank. I wrote an in-depth analysis of all aspects of the tank before I would even look at the D2 that had come out earlier this year. I tested it both in VW and TC on Food Grade Ceramic SS316 - 0.50 and 0.25 coils.

Below is my final assessment of the prototype after further updates on the coils specifically. I believe with the release of other colors we may very well see the beautiful Uwell Centaur logo holding it's mech somewhere on the chassis of the tank or on the presentation tube.

Dry hits first few draws, but then AMAZING FLAVOR! Excellent Life with Coil Improvement
Both in VW and TC modes, flavor and vapor production A+.
Product Summary

Positive Points and Factors: Negative Points or Recommendations:

Overall, Excellent Design Threading is Thin/Cheap - Squeaky until Lubed
Uwell Logo on Bottom Half 510 Connection could be adjustable screw

You make note of Ceramic Coils, the D1 does not have Ceramic in any version, Proto Type, Beta or Release.

The cotton must have been packed extremely tight to appear as ceramic. I had no information at all go on. Thanks for the information!

Your welcome, you and I have the same friend at Uwell, I was excited to see Ceramic and made a phone call to confirm. All in all a great bit of good info you posted on the D1. ;):)

Thanks, Vapin! I'm the over-analytical type. They were quite pleased with the report. I'm waiting for them to do something special (at my request) with the black one. We'll see. ;)

I'm waiting for the D3 to show, that's the one they were trying to develop a Ceramic coil. For the time being Uwell is not going Ceramic, they say it is not safe, but supposedly the D3 will have a new coil design.

Oh. So you are standing by to test the ceramics when they finally decide to give it a shot? Have you heard of or assessed the D3 prototype? I won't request any more from you in that case.

I'm waiting on the final production of the D1. They said mid to late October. I have a feeling they may tweak it and have me perform a brief test. They were mostly interested in the coils, for apparent reasons. But my other suggestions (not all listed in my review above) were immediately sent to their marketing department according to my contact. They already had the D1 in production when I tested. Hmmm, D3. D323 would be reminiscent in a motion picture way. Ha! Good pitch, too.
