If you can find a screw with the same threading as the pin (shouldn't be too hard) I'd definitely go this route. Not too sure you're gonna find a bolt with that course of a thread but I could be wrong. May have to use a wood screw. No need to go on a goose chase for a specialty screw with a knurled head, a hex head would do and would be enough to grip with finger tips. You'll not likely find a copper screw but whatever. You'll have to sand or cut off the pointy tip. It'll be usable until you find a replacement pin.
