I've yet to successfully build my own coil. Will do tomorrow. Q: Can I do dual coils on a single coil deck?

Anyway, here's something that's crazy: Top 10 Coil Builds:

Who's done which and why?

Ive tried Fused and regular Claptons, 2x and 4x Twisted, Hive, Juggernaut, Alien Clapton, Dragon Skins, and a couple others. Its really just about extra surface area. The more surface area you have touching your juice and cotton, the more juice gets vaporized and inhaled. A lot of coils are less about performance and just more about looks. Youve got shit like polished coils and the colorized or whatever coils that have zero added effect over regular, but people make them because they look pretty and its something to brag about.

Exactly. There are lots of coil types out there. I would say that about 50% (guesstimate) of the coil porn pics have absolutely no effect on the vape. There are even a bunch that will DECREASE the quality of your vape experience. Personally, I've been known to throw a little coil porn around, but most of what I make has a purpose - different styles of coils for different combinations of atty, mod, user desires, etc. Although I have made the mirror/polished coils, they're really more for show, even though they're quite vapable.

As for your question, I've made the Nano Dragons, Tigers, Parallels (many different configuration combinations), Inceptions, Zippers, Caterpillar Tracks, and obviously the Clapton coils. I'm really surprised that aliens or staples weren't listed in the video - those are two of the most flavorful builds available right now, and they can produce quite respectable clouds, also.

Yes you can do dual coil on a 2 post single coil deck. Fact is you could do as many coils as you can fit in the space. I did a quad build in a kayfun once. Then i learned about twisted wire and parallel builds. Since then I have been single coil only

Honestly my fav builds for performance is a simple framed staple. Or just standered fused claptons. The flavor off a well build framed staple is top notch and its fun to build. (Read giant pain in the balls) and staple builds are fun to brag about at vape shops. (Specially when your only one of a handfull of people there that build including the inhouse builder) but they just vape great. Im curently rockin some stagered fused claptons that a buddy made but like chef said, its more looks then vape performance.

One if my latest builds tho is a helixed parellel clapton.

I've had limited success building nano coils. The wicking is the problem for me. I finally got it to work, but it seems like there are more efficient ways to wick. Rip Tripper seemed to love it so I gave it a fair chance.
I've got a roll of mesh and am looking forward trying something with that! Talk about surface area!
I like to tinker and play that's mostly why I do it.
My go to's are claptons, or kinda of a flat bastard, I use .5x.1 ribbon nicrome 800 and wrap it around 24 Kanthal or 26 nicrome 800.
I use Nicrome for the faster ramp up times and lower ohm-age... As far as I know, there's no reason not to use it.

The original video was made around a year or 2 ago...when Trippers was actually doing coil vids back to back...I remembered watching it. This was made before those coils were a popular things..I did find it odd that its posted here now.

Advanced coil, even those for "coilporn" have to work properly. I do not agree that the advanced builds are more used to showing off (my perspective). I use claptons, fused claptons, staggered fused claptons, staples, staple Staggered fused claptons and several others. Each type gives a different taste, temperature, humidity of vape. No differences are dramatic, but sufficient to spend a few hours in concentration from time to time. If someone does not depend on the nuances in taste, that fused clapton, staggered fused clapton and Staple coil will be enough. But there is a difference in taste between fused clapton with two and three cores. This is the flavor chasing. And yes, stainless steel colors is for the look, but after that starts flavor. ;)

Well, it's been 3 weeks since I've been here. I'm up to 27 ejuice, 5 mods (2 on the way) 6 tanks (2 on the way) and I still take nearly 3 hrs to do a single build. Hubby was trying to help and made me five 2.0 7-9 wrap coils. I didn't realize he had the 2.0. He did good on the jig. Tonight I had to separate the 7 coils and don't think there is enough cotton in the well. I'm using the Kanger 7.0ml tank. Small well, if you want to call it that. Very little cotton. I'm at .82ohms. Gradually increased wattage back up to 40 and I've burned it - again. Dropped it down to 25w and I'm good.

Dang, finally got my shop to get me 2.4 nicotine. I had no clue a regular menthol full flavor cig is only .8. Think I'll stick with 18 or maybe 12 since I've been chain vaping to stay off cigs. Anyway, think I'll try 3mm next time with 6-7 wraps and see what happens. My problem is the cotton. Either too much or too little I guess. Whew...that 24 mg is kicking my ass! I'll have to order .3 or 0 to water it down. Man-o-man!
