So since I started vaping, Ive used the old old ego stuff clearomizers then move don to a kanger subtank which was single coil.
then I moved up to a dual coil crown
since then I use dual coil SS claptos in several griffins and limitless plus.

For me this is the most flavorful vape. I do not really think it could be much better, but myattys could be easier to use etc. So I have been primarily in search of dual coil tanks that have the flavor I get form a griffin and a limitless plus, but are easier to use and maintain.

However, I see posts from many people here who love single ocils, and feel they get great flavor from that.

So I am looking from input from people who use or have used regularly dual coil rta/rdas but prefer the single coil life.

I feel if I could get a single coil rta that is as flavorful as the dual coil griffins and limitless plus, it would be a plus.
I would not look like a steam train outside, lower wattage, longer battery life etc

so is it really possible to get the flavor from a single coil that you can get from a dual coil?
    IF SO, HOW?
    what rta do you use?
what type of coil do you use?
    what ohm range?
    what wattage?

and if you could compare the flavor from your single coil setup to the dual coil setups you have used mentioning specifically what dual coil attys you have used and with what types of coils.

    TIA

I'd be interested in knowing if there are any too.

    This is a great question.

In my assortment of tanks, my go-to's are a pair of Kayfun 5 clones, that I use 5 wrap 3mm 316L stainless steel Clapton coils in, temp control between 400 and 450 degrees depending on the flavor. I have the airflow wide open, and the flavor in those tanks is second to none IMHO. I have 2 single coil Ammits, a Digiflavor siren, and a Griffin... the Kayfuns and the good clones are my favorites in the bunch.

so you are saying you get better flavor in a kayfun with a 5 wrap 316 clapton then using 2 of the same coils in a griffin?

I'm not saying I don't think the Griffin does not throw good flavor; on the contrary it does. Great flavor, but I think with the less airflow, the flavor from the Kayfun 5's is more focused and concentrated. Also, to the OP's inquiry, because it's a single coil and less airflow, batteries last a lot longer because less power is used, and it doesn't look like I have a cumulo-nimbus cloud in my living room.

ok so lets talk about this ammit as well

do you feel the flavor is better in it with a single coil versus a standard griffin using 2 similar coils?

To me it seems the flavor in the Griffin is better than the Ammit, the both have comparable airflow, but with the dual coils in the Griffin it's able to throw more vapor into the air mixture coming through the atty.

Mind you, this is all subjective and as such is susceptible to some preconceptions I have about airflow related to vaping. With respect to my earlier comment about the Kayfun having better flavor than the Griffin, I bet I could put together a build and find a temperature that would make the flavor as pronounced as in the Kayfuns. It comes down to experimenting with attys, mods, and builds, until you find a spot where you're getting the vape experience you want.

I love the Serpent SMM I run 26/32 SS316L Clapton in one and 24G SS316L single wire in the other and get good flavor. Better than my Limitless Plus RDTA, Baby beast RBA and the Cloud Beast RBA. I use SS316L for building. I also use dual coils in the Tsunami and Torque RDA's and like the SSM better...but that's just me. Others may differ.

see this is what gets me i put the largest possible build i can get in my griffins and limitless
usually 4mm id with 8-11 wrap ss claptons
so its hard for me to imagine one of those coils giving me the same flavor as 2 of them

i could definitely see how if i used smaller coils in the griffins/limitless that a single coil one of those in a totally different chamber could give off the same flavor

now see thats interesting with the comparison to the plus, but not everyone likes it and depending on how you build it determines alot with it. the tsunami was not my thing way too airy and less flavor then a griffin 22.

im learning lots ere keep it coming

With a lot of airflow, you need a large build. A large build takes a lot of juice to power. And you're going to throw hella clouds. With lower airflow, like an MTL/restricted lung tank like the Kayfun, you can put a build in there that will give you fantastic flavor and won't consume a lot of power. I can go all day vaping on one of my Kayfun tanks on a single 18650 on my VTwo mini at 430F, refilling the juice 2-3 times. With my Griffin, I get maybe 6 hours before the battery isn't strong enough to provide enough power to get a decent vape on my eVic, so most of the time the griffin is on my Hohm Slice 26650 mod.

You might want to browse the MTL threads as they answer most of your questions. I don't vape MTL, I do direct lung hits but prefer one coil MTL type gear.

Air flow, chamber size, coil type, ohms and specific attys are well covered in the MTL(flavor chaser) threads. Sorry I can't provide a quick link or more detailed info as I'm headed out the door at the moment. Someone like @pulsevape might be able to chime in.

No serious flavor chaser I know uses dual coils....and alot of them don't vape below 1 ohms. you need alot of airflow to even use dual coils, and more airflow means less flavor..sub ohming does not produce better flavor... all it does is allow you to vaporize more juice which in turn means you are vaporizing more flavorings in each pull, but that does not in anyway translate to ....you are getting the most out of those flavorings...it's like the differnce between drinking a can of Budwieser as opposed to having a mouthfull of a fine crafted beer. one you get alot of a vaugely beer tasting drink and the other is you get a mouthfull of a very fine many layered drink. some people like to kill a six pack of Bud, and some people like to sip a single bottle of Belgian larger....and some enjoy doing both.....
In my experince atty design and chamber size effect flavor the most....that's why I don't mind paying big bucks for a really great atty and vape it on any old mod.
I don't much care for RTAs,but the Kayfuns are hard to beat, and the V3 has an especially good reputation for flavor. The Serpent mini also has a good rep for flavor...There are a shit ton of good single coil RTAs..the Rose...just a bunch....but to me if you want to get the best flavor out of your juice you have to throw away the cotton and use ss mesh or porous ceramic wicks.Hell I'd even squonk on cotton before I'd use an RTA again. There are a ton of great single coil BF attys that deliver exceptional flavor.
