The only stuff I can find is spider silk. What other options are out there? Or good deals. Please link me if possible. Thanks.
Thanks AmandaD I got that ink from you In another post...I also use the Unkamen wire. They ship very quickly, and the 26 gauge is great!
So I've been using unkamem Ti wire and I have to say. I'm getting a horrible metallic taste. I cleaned it and am making s non contact coil. There doesn't appear to me a massive change in the wire but it concerned me to taste such a strong metal taste. Any thoughts on that!
Btw first post in here I think, been reading forever. So hello everyone.
Been using ti, but I like nickel more for temp control. I believe titanium would be better for regular wattage vapor.
You should only use TI in TC mode!
Do a 6 wrap on a 2.5 rod. I usually try to keep it under .4 for single and around .1 for dual
Thanks. Knowing that .4 ohms works well really helps.Do a 6 wrap on a 2.5 rod. I usually try to keep it under .4 for single and around .1 for dual

My Mod (IPV3 Li) says the range in TC mode is up to 0.3 ohms, I was wondering if this was why my .3-.4 coils arn't working so well.. lots of vapor but very cool.. too coolThanks. Knowing that .4 ohms works well really helps.
anyone order from unkamen supplies?
i have a roll, but when i clean it i cannot get it to a silver metal color. this stuff is sorta orange/red... anyone else?

Did you use plain water in the UC? And did you unwrap the wire from the spool? Just wondering, I may do this. I've been wiping with acetone or alcohol up to now, but am just getting started with Ti.That's where mine is from. It's more of a gunmetal grey. I wiped it down with something, tasted bad. Cleaned the whole spool in the ultrasonic, wiped it down with vinegar, tasted OK.
Tested what using fire on it takes to light it, started using a lighter to get it to a dull red, wipe it down with a dry towel just in case. Tastes fine from the start, and is easier to wrap.

ive been using 99% isopropyl alcohol and cannot get the red/orange color off of it.
You won't. It's probably from heat (maybe so many vapers are using him he's stopped stripping it or maybe your wire didn't get stripped). It's anodized titanium dioxide. I only think white dust is the inhalation risk titanium dioxide, I hope so because vaping temperatures seem to produce brown-orange.
are you saying it will stay this color before even heating it? as in it got that color from the manufacturing?
the spider silk i have used does not color at all. even under vaping temps. those coils stay "silver" in color even after weeks of use.
I guess if you were actually using it for jewelry a tumbler would take care of the finished product!Yes. I would almost worry more about titanium that doesn't color from heat and wonder why.
But the color is definitely titanium dioxide so I'd rather it not be there.
I might have to get some of that spider silk to mess with.
Unkamen's is definitely not finished well for jewelry wire. Try a scouring pad or polishing sand paper if you have any.
I stick 6"pieces in the UC along with a bit of dish soap and hot water.
