I've just tried charging a small MP3 player with it, and... it doesn't work. Same thing with a small action camera, or with any "dumb" USB device in fact: the E-Mech powers the USB-out port for roughly 30 seconds, and if the device to charge doesn't try to negotiate a higher charge current within that delay, the E-Mech powers off the USB port. Stupidy stupidy...
There's something to be said for simple on/off switches to enable simple functions like that. For instance, the E-LVT's USB port is turned on with a switch and charges anything without any aggravation.
