The California Crusade Against Tobacco Flavors: From Foolish to Dangerous

Overall, that's an very good article, but I do have a couple of bones to pick with Dr. Rodu:
Flavors would no longer be supplied by legitimate companies. Instead, do-it-yourselfers would be adding flavors with unknown chemistry to concentrated nicotine solutions.
DIYers have this stuff pretty well figured out, as do the vendors of concentrated flavorings, and some that understand the needs of vapers (for example Flavour Art in Italy) aren't going away no matter what the FDA does here.

It is worth noting that the only known death attributable to vapor products in the U.S. resulted from a young child accidentally ingesting pure nicotine.
I'm pretty sure that was not "pure nicotine" but rather a 10% (100 mg/ml) solution. OK, there's no doubt high-test nicotine solutions are dangerous to children and pets, but no more dangerous than a host of other products found in almost every household, so please don't promulgate these scare stories.

.

While this is true of actual DIYers there no doubt would be exceptions to the rule if flavors were banned.
Most people who vape don't even bother to go on vaping sites such as forums, reddit, or facebook groups.

Sadly a large portion of vapers don't know anything else about vaping besides how to charge it, hit the fire button, and put the juice in.

We have people come on the forum every once in a while with some goofy flavor additive shit they found at wal mart asking if it would work as flavoring.

All "banning" flavors would do is cause a bunch of black market shady bathtub juice in non childproof bottles to flood the market.
All of those garbage "vendors" that got pushed out by deeming regs would reappear and the quality of eliquid will be what was going around in 2013 if we were lucky.

eBay ads would appear faster than they could take them down
Shit would pop up on craigslist and facebook marketplace...
