I don't think there's an RBA deck for the Baby V2 yet and no the BB/BBB one won't work with it. :(

You can use your other atomizers until one comes out I would think.

FWIW: got this going now, I likey.

Baby Beast RBA Head pix and stuff (click for full-sized)
These pics are from awhile ago, but shows what ya can do a little bit.

The original BB's head's pre-made build is trippy. Didn't like it.

    Got the RBA, woot!
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I did a SS316L dual build in it.

    [IMG] [IMG]

On the AL85 I got the BB tank with. Yes, the temp/power is weak.

The AL85 sucked in TC, but the build works well on newer mods like the X-Priv Baby. :)

Newer build with VV MTL SS316 fused clapton wire:.
It came out to 0.28Ω, running in TC at 30W and 245-250c

This is what I'm running now, in the Baby Beast RBA/Tank and on the X-priv Baby.
Great stuff for small build spaces.

Awhile back I read somewhere that it was something about the light and it's chip needing a seal that doesn't let the rba deck fit or something like that. One of the light editions anyway.

I bet that vapes even better than the Prince RBA which has this massive airflow canyon in the middle instead of the 2 oval ports. Great for cloud chasing, but does diminish the flavor some. I've been thinking of making some kind of ultem plug to fill in the middle of that giant port and see how it vapes like that.

It really does have great flavor with that wire. It's like magick. :D

I run the BB with AF about half open and I get a lovely R-DL vape on the X-Priv Baby.

If I remember right, the guy who was saying it had found out that there was no way to make it work because he bought an rba for the regular edition of that tank.. I don't have any of the light edition tanks so I can't say firsthand.

I'm not a hater. I have yet to see actual evidence to make me one. Lots of anecdotes with looming questions, but a big topic for another thread.

    Looks like it would be.

I've had none of the problems with my 3 Smok mods or 4 or 5 Smok tanks that I hear about. I've taken the time to push a few people over at Reddit and to their credit they came clean and admitted that the device had been dropped on concrete several times, were using rewrapped batteries of less than known reliable origin etc.

They also seem to ignore the daily parade of problems people post about other products, more times than not, the result of improper setup, abuse or some other user error that they seem entirely willing to forgive for every other company, but consider a hanging offense for Smok.

Not to dwell on this too much, but over there, if somebody shows up with a problem with ANY other product, they're doing it wrong. If somebody shows up with a problem with ANY Smok product, Smok is doing it wrong. Before ANYthing else is known about the situation at all.

Now that sounds a bit frightening LOL! You know there will be those who say:
And ya know what? There's probably something to that. Smok,s QC probably isn't as good as when they had far less units to produce, but I don't see the case for their stuff being the universal junk that is often claimed either.

There are also vast legions of former smokers who made their break on a Smok device.

I got it built and the BB/BBB RBA deck is by far the best of the three Smok RBA sections I have. Certainly because of the small chamber and especially because of the oval airflow holes instead of the one big one.

Does your take a bit to heat up?

It seems i have to fire mines for about 2 seconds before using it to get any flavour. I have it set at 50w

Ramp up will depend on how you have it built and how you have the mod set.

This setup is pretty quick actually. A .3 build at 70 watts on my Procolor with the preheat set to hard. I get sizzling vapor in like a quarter second.

What is the resistance of your coils?

    Its .35 prebuilt.
I have it on a vaporesso swag. When i turn it up higher.. seems it loses flavour.
    Tried it at 60w

Sounds like you would be happier with a different pair of coils. What coil heads did you like in the baby beast before?

I think it was the m2 or q2. From there i got the big baby, spriv i think and species.

Didnt care for the baby too much since i was getting more flavour.

Then since i got the swag to take around with me.. i got the baby prince. Loved it. Got the rba for it recently and love it. Lots of flavour right away. Running the prebuilt it came with .25 i think.. at 45w normal.. love it.

Was going to finish both tanks and see if the baby prince rba would fit the baby beast.

Havent started actually making coils yet.. just started with the rba's. Any advice would be great

That doesn't look too bad actually. The thing about wicking the Smok RBA decks is how short the cotton needs to be. The juice ports are exactly under the end of the coils and fairly shallow. That's not bad, it just means the cotton has to be pretty short. It has be short, but still fill in the spaces under the posts. There's actually only one port on each side though it looks like 2 if you don't look close enough.

For whatever reason, I get the feeling that you and I are talking past one another some of the time friend :)

    Sorry about that.

I got the part about the juice ports. One time made it a bit too short amd it leaked while firing lol.

So now i have the cotton enough so you can see it through the juice ports or at least half way through the ports. I mean looking through at the side of the coil.

Oh and thats the prebuilt coil.

With all the videos and everything ive read and seen... usually the coils are tight. Does that make a difference?

    Heres basically how im wicking.

But i did find even when burning off the excess juice and what not.. plus checking for hot spots.. this coil does take a bit to really heat up.[IMG][IMG]

In an RTA, which this rba deck is alot like, you want the cotton tight enough to fill the ports all the way, but you shoudl still be able to move it around if you push on it with whatever you used to wick it with.
    HTB1RPiLXzLuK1Rjy0Fhq6xpdFXaT_cr.jpg

This is the RBA for the Prince that I did for somebody else, but this part is the same for the Baby Beast RBA.
Behind that red mark is space. The cotton needs to fill that whole port like the yellow part shows and block the space behind red part.

But it still has to be loose enough to absorb juice too.

Got it. I just checked another rba i have waiting for a home.. and your right. I always thought it was divided.. but if you look down at it.. your absolutley right.

Thanks a lot! Will try it once i burn out the juice from this build.

Quick question.. so when you cut ur cotton.. u dont cut it straight? Ive found cutting straight.. i might not have enough to fill my new found juice well.

I can see loose cotton on the right coil.
When ya put it in there, it should be just barely able to be pulled through, then gently pull it back and forth a bit like you're flossing. You want the cotton filling all those nooks and crannies of the coil. :)

Different atty, but just an example...

Thanks. Still getting the hang of how much to cut.
When i have made it a little thicher.. the cotton breaks when pulling it though the coil.

Maybe as in the original post... i should get a ruler for now lol

Odd, it shouldn't break, Japanese cotton is pretty strong stuff.
Are you having the direction of the filaments going with the coil or cut against it?

Always roll a wick up with the grain going along the roll.
    IMG_20190327_185042.jpg

After a couple decades of hand-rolling cigs, it's kinda second-nature to me. :)

At first was cutting against the grain.. then started cutting with the grain.
If i didnt pull off the first layer on the top and bottom.. it would pull fine even if a little more thicker. Not thick enough to pull the coil obviously.

With the layers peeled.. it seems to break if a bit to thick.

I try to make the cotton more round and squished together without actually twisting the whole length.

    Hope this makes sense.

Will cut some and add pics

You are glowing for hot spots without the cotton in it right?

Also, on the ohm reader you're getting the direct unboosted power of whatever single 18650 battery you have in there. It will always take longer to ramp up on the ohm reader than when in use. Or almost always anyway.

First pic is the cotton just cut.
Second is the 2 layers in the back and the cotton twisted and slightly packed.

Oh and right now using the coil master cotton that came with the kit. Doesnt say japanese.[IMG][IMG]

If'n ya like I could just rewick my BB rba to show how I do it, tank is near empty and it likely needs it anyways...lol...

I'm running it on the X-Priv Baby in SS-TC with a dual-core SS316L VV MTL wire fused Clapton, if it wasn't wicking, it wouldn't vape at all. :)

Mine are square, it's Puffs Labo organic cotton from AMZ.
I just peel off the outermost 'skin' layers and roll the inside bit. I use about half of a square for this atty, rolled and cut in half.

No worries, it was time anyways.

    Pic overload incoming...:D
Just gimme a bit to warm my hands back up so I can process the photos, no heat in the kitchen where I build vape stuff and it's like 55F in there.

Mostly roll my own, but a few pre-mades like some Wotofo and VV coils. Mostly I just buy the spools of wire and make my own so I have options. I don't like being limited.
