Great video, thanks
@Jackson! I wish I had seen @pbusardo's review before I
spent $80. I won't say
wasted since this unit is great looking and built very well, just limited to higher ohm, med.-high wattage builds. It is a shame they used the Yihi SX-330 chip, I'm a taste chaser.
I watched the video charts 3 times. My take is the Sigelei Vr2 will fire at sub-ohm, just won't regulate to what the "calculated" display says, i.e on my dual coil .5ohm build the display shows 7.0w, 1.9v and it is really getting 3.6v. According to @pbusardo, it doesn't get semi-accurate until around 10w, 1.6ohm. On the high end at 50w, it limits the voltage to ~8.6v above 1.6ohm, even though the display reads ~8.9v to 12v.
I must say, I am very disappointed in Sigelei's choice of the very limited Yihi board in their device. It would have been a deal breaker if I had known before. I really like the box size, buttons, and display, but I have to use it in their sweet spot and build my coils to accommodate. I love VV/VW mods because they normally adjust to any coil I build.
Just to note, the Yihi SX-350 board
does step down and is more accurate, but not used in this mod.
