I pretty much love everything about my authentic Odis 16 except the retail price, lol.
Big flavor in a small attie. Deck size leaves enough room that you are not stuck running teenie 2mm diameter coils either.
So, finally got the FT Odis 16 clone to compare the two
You get the same room on the deck with the clone, but there are striking differences that are easy to see and is probably why the clone is not as flavorful to me.
To keep it a level playing field, both are sporting single-coil 32.3 twisted fused claptons, six wraps, 2mm diameters. Also, both are being compared on identical CopperVape aluminum squonkers.
The authentic costs $116 plus shipping from Canada
The clone being compared is from Fast Tech in China, and costs $6.39, so $110 less, lol
My first and biggest complaint about the clone is the fact that the drip tip is threaded to screw into the base of the attie - a standard 510 drip tip does not fit into the base, period
The drip tip on the clone is also open wider than the authentic so you draw in more air
The authentic Odis 16 easily accommodates regular 510 drip tips. The stock drip tip it comes with is a nothing special shorty.
The regular pin that arrives stock in the Odis 16 is a flathead, but only a Phillips is included. You have to switch the stock pin with the included bf pin for squonking.
The authentic comes pre-squonkified.
The flat head slot on the clone spans the entire head of the pin so leakage is likely.
Also, when torqued in as far as it will go, the squonk pin protrudes out a little more than the authentic. It was much easier to squonkify the Odis 16 clone compared to the Odis 24 clone
This photo easily shows the difference between the squonk pins
