Labels

I have a dymo label machine for printing my labels. I need some help with where to find a label design software (that's free). If anyone knows of one please let me know. I have tried so many in the past couple of days. I have the design all set just need the right program. I tried Photoshop and Illustrator but I don't really know how to use them.
