Keanu Reeves is reportedly in talks to star in Hulu's series adaptation of The Devil in the White City, which will be produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese.

According to Deadline, Reeves is in negotiations to potentially take on his first major U.S. TV role, starring in Hulu's take on Erik Larson's 2003 book, The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic and Madness at the Fair That Changed America, which tells the tale of two men, an architect and a serial killer, whose fates were entwined by the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.

As noted by the publication, the story interweaves the true tales of "Daniel H. Burnham, a brilliant and fastidious architect racing to make his mark on the world and Henry H. Holmes, a handsome and cunning doctor who fashioned his own pharmaceutical 'Murder Castle' on fair grounds – a palace built to seduce, torture and mutilate young women."

DiCaprio acquired the book's film rights back in 2010, with plans to adapt the story for a feature film in which he would star as Holmes, with Scorsese directing behind the camera. The project then shifted gears in 2019 when it was announced that the adaptation would be developed as a series at Hulu, with DiCaprio and Scorsese executive producing.

Rick Yorn, Jennifer Davisson, and Stacey Sher are also set to executive produce; with Little Children's Todd Field on board to direct the first two episodes of the limited series, which is being produced by Paramount TV together with ABC Signature and Appian Way. Castle Rock creator Sam Shaw is also believed to be working on the adaptation.

Scorsese has been on board to direct the series since 2015, and has worked with DiCaprio on multiple films over the years, including Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Killers of the Flower Moon, which is a film adaptation of David Grann's bestselling 2017 nonfiction book of the same name.
