I would say to look up the specs of the charger and look for a aftermarket charger with the same specs. (As far as wattage and voltage so you make sure you don't damage your battery.)

USB chargers are not 9v... they are 5v.

If the charger that came with yours is using a usb cable and the charger is actually 9v... they are using them in a nonstandard way. You will be unlikely to find a compatible one except from where you got the mod from perhaps.

They jellyfish uses a 9v USB charger that they built for this box.

Micro USB port and male connector. What would you call it? Just because it uses a nonstandard voltage doesn't make it any less a USB connection.

Their very poor choice in types of connectors doesn't make it USB.... USB has standards and one of those is 5v and anything else is then not a USB connection... it is just using that type of cable and that is all.

So any actual USB power supply you find... will only be 5v and nothing else.

Thanks for your input I will do further research into finding an actual 9v.

I suspect you'll need to create your own adapter... Look at the original charger and see how many amps output it is capable of providing. Then find a 9v power source that provides that many amps. The only other thing to consider then is getting your polarity correct ( ie the + and - ) so you don't short something out.

That was a dumb design. They should have used a different connector on the cable.

Agreed... life is confusing enough without them doing something like that and then have some novice users make what seems like a logical conclusion be made incorrect because of an idiot designer
