I've always wondered if if this is so. I can smell someone in front of me in line and I'm like yeah she smokes. I wonder if anyone is like yeah that dude vapes. If anyone smells like a vaper it'd be I'm sure. I use my shirt when I'm cleaning out my tanks and always ALWAYS have little oil ring and stains at the bottom of my shirt. I'm always walking around smelling like strawberries or root beer or some shit lol

I vape all day long in my (non smoking / non vaping) office. I had one person walk into my cube once, take a whiff, and say, "It smells like pot puri in here. Nice."...

nice to live in a world as small as a cubicle isn't it.....

I'm the boss, so I have the run of about 50 cubicles. Being confined to just one would be too constraining for my taste.

I've never noticed the vaper smell on me or others. We've had a couple customers complain at work about their vehicle smelling odd after repairs. My manager said I probably shouldn't "use that" in a customer's vehicle....to which I said "bullshit, there's no lingering effect after a couple minutes". He came back with that they've gotten a handful of complaints, and he thinks it's the nicotine staying behind, some people are overly sensitive to it. He also mentioned he can smell it in my truck even before I start puffing away. I acknowledged this and changed my statement to "respectively calling bullshit, but ok I'll stop". Even if I don't notice or smell anything lingering, I realized it's a matter of respect.

Anyways, no I don't notice any vape smells, even when first getting home for the day.

I never noticed the smell on vapers, on the other hand I can smell people who smoke, especially pipes and cigars (yuck).

You can smell them while they vape but thats it. However, if you vape heavy VG you will see a film on the windows of your car after a while.

This. More so than my fruits some of the wife's dessert vapes can give off a noticeable odor when we're puffing away in the living room, but the smell dissipates *almost* as quickly as the cloud...

That's funny. I'm an IT support manager. I did support for a couple of years as well. I was honestly replying to your statement. I'd blow my brains out if I had to sit in a cubicle all day, every day. My area has 2 labs, 2 small conference rooms. and 7 rows of high wall cubes. I have the corner cube with a window. I only use it as a place to keep the system I run reports and write code on. I told HR I had claustrophobia, and moved my desk into one of the conference rooms.

They've obviously never seen the head (bathroom) on a Sea Ray... :p

I mainly vape energy drink and get more compliments on how good it smells.

My partner smokes cigs and tells me the smell of ry4 mIxed with Bavarian cream bothers her. Other flavors don't. She has beginning stages of COPD. A friend who vapes caramel cream the smell of that bothers my partner too.

After leaving the house for a while when I come back in house I dont smell anything that would be lingering smells from vaping.

Now my office is a diff story. I work from Home. Have a fiNished room in basement. No Windows. I chain vape all day. Also mix juice. After mixing it smells like a bakery or candy factory! :)

Great thread. After smoking cigs for 45 years and vaping all my waking hours for 3 years, I CANNOT
stand the smell of smokers. I really can't comprehend that I use to smell like that...all the time!
As far as how I smell now, I've NEVER had a complaint about the smell produced by my vaping.

I can smell smokers easily now, whether they have one lit or not. Sometimes I smell cig smoke out in public and can't believe how far away the person is. It's easy to ID the smokers in public; the unmistakeable smell clings to hair and clothes for a long time.

When someone vapes in public, I can sometimes identify what flavors they're using. There's no doubt when someone vapes a Halo flavor, for example, or vanilla custard flavors, or anything with marshmallow in it. A few times I've smelled vape flavors on people who were not actively vaping. There's no missing Twisted Java smell on a person. Maybe I'm extra sensitive to that one because I used to vape so much of it. It's not unpleasant, though.

I'd rather smell clouds of vape than body odor, Axe body spray, bad breath, certain hairspray, even some sunscreens. Now that I don't smoke, a lot more people seem to stink.

Vaping in the summertime with the AC on and the windows closed negates the need for air fresheners. LOL

My wife (a smoker and half-hearted vaper) says she can always tell when I've been vaping Radiator Pluid.
To which, I shoot back, 'Well, I can always tell when your had Mexican for lunch!'
Then I go make a bed on the couch.

True true

Garlic is about the only offensive smell on me these days. I'm a mouthwash addict and take showers ;-)

No mistaking Fudge Brownie, and I've been banned from vaping the bedroom and bathroom. Apparently Peach and Vanilla cupcake sizzled on a coil at 10 watts makes some people nauseated. Oh well.

A few weeks after I stopped smoking I could smell it on others.

At the same time, I was picking up on overdoses of cologne or perfume.

And of course BO.

So the answer is that I cannot smell a vaper unless they have BO and/or are trying to cover it up with cologne or perfume!

My s.o. told me my beard sometimes carries a very faint smell of rancid butter - that's VG of course.

Could you explain why heavy vg leaves a film? I only vape 70+vg juices and I dont want to dirty up my car windows.

Also I had an elderly white couple (im a 23yr old asian kid they were 60+) come up to me while I was vaping saying I smelled nice (vapedudes blue honey max vg). The old grandpa thought I was smoking an old fashioned gold pipe (my 24k v3flip) from far away.

Lol. I guess that's not funny, but I laughed...

I tend to smell after building or vaping with butterscotch or caramel juices. They linger with me even after a shower sometimes. My beard is out of control, mountain man style, and gets condensation when I vape. I'd guess that might be a reason. It actually smells good, to me at least.
