So there are a decent amount of local competitions in South FL where i reside, and i would like to start getting into them. Right now, i only have a box mod.

I need someone to find me a set up that is gonna help me win competitions. (I know ill need to practice, but i want a good setup to help me get into the groove of it.)

So, can someone tell me what setup or an example to use to help me shop for one?

I could be wrong, but I believe most cloud comps require a single 18650 tube mod, and they supply the juice. Something like a Doge comp atty might be worth looking into since many use those. I have no desire to do cloud comps, but the Alliance by Vapergate is a cloud chucker and comes with multiple airflow and drip tip setups. It comes down to your coil build and what works for your setup.

edit... maybe try a manhattan or a fuhattan copper mod. Take it apart and polish the contacts well. That includes the contact on the atty, and the threads on the mod. The better the contact the less voltage drop. Make sure the 510 pin on the mod cap is perfectly square and it makes perfect square contact with the pin on the atty.

VvVapes in east Boca probably has the most knowledgeable staff for such a task. If you're up that way i would pop in and talk to em.
Your budget is gonna play a big part in the advice you get, so i would figure out where you're at with that. I would personally never enter a comp with a clone mod because you're gonna be running em hard. A solid mod and reliable batteries are a MUST.
If i were to build a comp setup right now i would probably go with this mod:
http://www.beyondvape.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2298
And either of these two attys:
http://www.beyondvape.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2759
http://twistedmesses.com/product/twisted_messes_rda/

A copper mod and a solid atty with good build space and versatile airflow would be key. I own both of those atomizers and they both rock. $130 for a full authentic setup is not bad at all. They also sell both of those atty's at VVVapes for the same prices as online. Good luck and be safe!!

Those are nice, but wouldn't he want a 1 piece tube?

Perhaps, i would just hesitate to recommend a hybrid style mod to someone without experience for safety reasons. But yeah, ideally something with a hybrid top would be the best bet. Something like an Anarchist mod, or a Tugboat mod would do well for sure
