When I started vaping, I'd see all these conversations about this or that flavor ejuice, how great or awful they were, and I honestly had no clue WTH they were talking about, because I didn't really taste much from vaping, though it was a nice aroma, that's really all it was. So I started getting into DIY, and hanging around the TFA thread over at butthole central (ECF), and I heard about something called "high flavor mixing" -- using 25%-30% flavoring instead of whatever measly amount most folks use. And it changed my whole life -- I started experimenting with a strawberry and cream flavor in the first part of Dec 2014, and mid-Dec, I had perfected a recipe that I vape to this very day, day in and day out, because I've never tasted better. After vaping it for 3+ yrs, and being smoke-free for nearly 4 yrs now, I've brought it from its original 31% flavoring, to about 24%, and like it just as well, though I continue to reduce the flavoring as the need arises -- the longer you go without smoking, the better you can taste EVERYTHING, but if you've recently laid down the coffin nails, well, smoking kills taste and smell, since your body deadens those senses in pure self-preservation!
Hang in, and keep looking for the atty that best suits what you most want -- the flavor, lots of fog, or just whatever. The entire 1st two yrs I vaped, I tried lots, most of us do, because that's really what it takes to find just the right setup for your personal needs and wants. There's a lot of attys, and if you order from FT and/or the other china vendors, you can get some good prices -- and many, many times, clone attys are as good as the real ones, if they're made by a solid manufacturer like Tobeco or EHPro, among a great many others.

ETA: Pro-tip: when you get a new atty, take it completely apart *slowly* so you see how it all fits together... then boil all the parts for about 10 mins, and rinse well in cool clear water. It will get rid of dirt, machine oil, etc, so you don't taste anything really vile -- machine oil is truly nasty, and any oil could be dangerous to vape.
