I like to tinker with stuff, build things. Not sure if it's a hobby, I mean you can only build so much, but I enjoy it when I get the chance. I enjoy working with wood, just a bit pricey and out of the way for me to get anything 'nice' in the realm of hardwoods. You'd thinking living in the midwest there'd be all kinds of places but even mills I've checked and nope, not to the public. Well fook. Need to get some things, a new bed frame, desk. Planning to make them, won't be anything that'd appear in 'finewoodworking' or anything. Likely will use what's easy to get ahold of, construction pine. If anything maybe take it as a challenge to make something that doesn't look like a makeshift sawhorse out of what many consider 'crap wood'.
I'm also a bit of a tech nerd. Enjoy working with pc's, building them etc and just the general tech realm. Probably why I enjoy fooling with the settings and things on regulated mods. Another expensive 'hobby' though, tech keeps becoming more advanced but it shows in the prices. I remember when a 'mid grade' graphics card was $100-140. Now a 'mid grade' card is easily $200-300. So while I love drooling over insane systems with $1200 cpu's and a stack of 4x $1200 gpu's yea, that's not happening anytime soon. lol. Why do the fun hobby's always have to cost so damn much?
Pc gaming, not on a competitive level or anything. Have always enjoyed it, started on the atari 2600, the nes, snes, ps1, ps2 then got away from consoles when they jumped from $100ish to $400ish. Played a game on a friend's pc and got hooked so now when I buy games it's usually for that. Vaping of course, kind of a hobby. I enjoy making my coils and diy juice.
Gardening when the weather permits, though hopefully this year goes better than last. Went 1 too many seasons in the same spot apparently. Usually just wing it with plants but last year I tried to improve on it. Got the light meter, rain meter, added epsom salts to the roots of the tomatoes, weeded, checked ph levels. Worst garden I've ever had. Everything appeared on point but had some sort of disease issues. Everything grew poorly, the tomatoes wilted real bad, cucumber plants turned yellow and were dying, zucchini plants went yellow and soft, patty pan struggled, something ate my brussels sprouts in spite of using sevin dust. About the only thing that grew at all were the jalapenos. Disappointing.
